OL now indicates Awaiting Transport (my expected completion was the 11th.) Not showing up on the WW site yet, though. Maybe I'll make the Figaro on the 18th.

According to the WW site the Otello is due in New York on 7/24. My MA says that it takes about 5 days to get from the port to the dealer. That means I could have my MC by end of July!!!! (The dealer is within a couple of hours from the port)

Did you get booking number GBSOU659385?

Hi,

Was your order booked on booking number GBSOU659385? That is one I see on Otello. I say "one" because it only has 165 cars on it. The previous one, for Patriot, only had 206.

I thought these vessels had, like, 5,000 spaces available. So, where's the other vehicles on the boat?

Cheers

The ship was in Germany and Sweden before the UK, so may have picked up other Autos that are making the trip to the USA as well.

Please post Otello booking numbers

I suppose you could be right. BMW may be sending cars from various production facilities, and not just MINI in Southampton. But it will be interesting to know if everyone who was/is booked on Otello has the same booking number.

So, if you know you're on Otello, please tell us the Booking Number, so we can tell if it's different from the only one I've found: GBSOU659385.

Cheers!

P.S. It would be fun if my car came on Otello. It's a ship registered in Sweden, and my family is from there.

I have GBSOU659412. I searched on it a while ago, and it lists 89 separate VINs, including mine.

Btw, I've noticed that each destination port has a unique booking number. ie, I can see GBSOU659412 (Reprobate's booking #) is heading to Brunswick, GA. GBSOU659385 ( Ambidexter 's booking #) is heading to New York. Both on Otello ...departing Southhampton the 15th of July. Can't you guys ask them to hold the door for a couple more of us? We're small and don't eat much!

Cheers,
Peter

According to K-Line's schedule it looks like their ships' ports include: Newark, Baltimore, Jacksonville, Port Canaveral, Galveston

Peter - check out this sticky thread posted by zonedguy - https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...d.php?t=144057 - between it and the links that he put in it you should be able to find most stuff that you are going to care about. Based on it, and the K-Line schedule, I don't think they service Brunswick. And, FWIW, my car was at Southampton several days before the last ship (the Patriot) sailed, and my VIN never popped on the WW site and my car wasn't loaded onto the Patriot. Soooooo, I'd say that you'll know tomorrow, but if you don't show up on the WW web site by then you'll probably wait a few more days.

GAAAA. This is killing me. Sorry to be the resident ****-and-moaner, but I think everybody on the Week 27 list is on the high seas. I'm going to go wade through the VINs. A lot of the ones I looked at got to the port after me. (Not that I'm jealous or nothin') I'm trying to be hopeful that it's on the K-Line that sailed on the 11th (Western Highway), but I've got nothing from my MA.

Has anybody gotten notification that they're on K-line?

Okay, now this is surreal: I'm going through the VINs and found the VIN exactly one digit before mine.

What's a guy gotta do?

I feel your pain. My MA is a slug too. Nice guy, but more interested in making the next sale as opposed to getting and providing information to his existing customer.

Click on the link and select the satellite view. If you look at the center of the photo you'll see a multi-level parking garage on the penninsula If you zoom in on the photo, you can see a ton of Minis waiting to be put on the ship. Too bad the picture isn't "live". (Of course, this wait could be causing me to see things too...)

Picture of the Otello

For those booked on the Otello, here is a link with a photo of the ship your Mini will cross the Atlantic on.

Nice find! They're close to the point of the man-made penisula, not really in the center of the photo. If you zoom in to around 4 clicks from the top, you can see all the black and white rooftops of the MINIs. Wonder what all those white cars to the right are. Does BMW make rental fleet vehicles (if so, I need to change rental companies.)

Also, in that bottom group, I count 177 cars - perhaps one full shipload. (or maybe a straggler load for a weird carrier, since there are that single line all by itself)

And, just for giggles.... of the 177:

41 (23%) have white tops
Of those 41, 32 (78%) have a moonroof.
Of the 41, 17 (41%) have white bonnet stripes.

Kind of hard to discern non-white details, so these numbers might be inexact.

Christ, I've turned into an obsessive. But, I swear, I can quit any time I want.

Check the numbers

Keep in mind...you may see "white" tops could be that white, plastic-type protector stuff they use for transport. Usually, you can see the color around it, but maybe not.

I've seen 170-220 vehicles or so which have been for one booking number. There will be different booking record for each destination, it seems. So, you may get 200 for Halifax, 200 for NYC, 200 for Brunswick GA, etc.

Plus, these are only MINIs. I'd bet that at least a few BMWs are in the mix. Notice the skinny blue cars on the transit lot...those aren't MINIs.

These ships are said to be able to carry 5,000 cars or so...so that's about 20 different booking records, if they take all cars. They may take other cargo too.

Cheers

Mind sharing where you got this info from? Ask Mini phone line perhaps?
I am, admittedly, new to this.
