Oh, and for what it is worth, I found the Otello's entire schedule for this voyage somewhere else on the WW site, and she is due to go to a couple more US ports (apparently with cargo other than MINIs) after departure from Brunswick but before returning to Europe.

I understand no one has control over the VDC or the delivery trucks but I wish my MA would stop promising me certain delivery dates and then avoiding my phone calls when he realizes that it's not possible. I would rather have bad news than have to deal with lies!

Congrats! Glad yours is at the dealer. Please let me know how your first day or motoring goes.

How long did your car take to get to the dealer form the day it was offloaded? How long did the dealer take to get it gussied up? Mine should arrive at the VDC on Thursday. Hope to be motoring by the 9th.

Also, if you could let me know how the dealer is upon delivery/pickup i'd appreciate the heads up for when I pick up mine. Thanks and happy motoring.

Mine was offloaded at Charleston the morning of the 24th, and hit Flow MINI the evening of the 28th. That was what I was hoping for. Part of that efficiency might have been the "end of the month push." Everybody in the chain has numbers to hit...

My Clubman is at the dealer too! Got there yesterday. Unfortunately I won't be able to pick it up until tomorrow.

 

Just Been told also that my MINI is "in transit" to Hassel MINI in Freeport, L.I. also

 

My MINI got to the VDC on the 24th but still not at the Dealership yet...

 

Don't feel bad guys...my got off the Figaro on Friday and hasn't even made it to the VDC yet ?! No idea when its going to get here at this point.

 

My MA said I'm at the VDC today, and will arrive at the dealership on the 3rd (wuh???) and that they'll need a day or two for final inspection and prep. So, maybe the 4th-6th for delivery.

 

Just got a call from my replacement MA - the previous guy got another job and left the dealership. My car has been released from the Brunswick VDC to the carrier, and they are expecting it in Palm Harbor (think Tampa) tomorrow. They think it will be ready tomorrow afternoon, but I'll wait to pick it up until the following day so that I can miss afternoon rush hour on the drive home which is >100 miles.

 

Any backroads on that 100 miles? I know this: when my time comes, I'm not taking the highway home!

 

Not really. Plus it is afternoon thunderstorm season here. Rainfall rates at a couple of inches an hour. Not worth it.

I'll miss Oliver too. I'm picking up my Clubman JustaCooper in Palm Harbor. Biz mgr called me this morning but said mine won't be ready to pick up till mid-late next week. I'm hoping they are underpromising. Just sold my current JustaCooper tonight.

Just got the call from the Sales Manager: My Mini came in this morning and I am taking delivery tonight!

 

My MINI arrived at the VDC this past weekend and its status on the OL just changed to "At Distribution Center" yesterday, but now when I call ASK-MINI it says that my car is at the port and awaiting its shipping vessel. I think it's a bit confused! Guess I'll have to give a call to my MA later today and see what the scoop is.

 

Just got a call from my new (non-oliver) MA and my Clubman is at Ferman and can be picked up 4:15 today. I'll be there. So...Otello discharged it 29 July and 31 July it is at the Dealership being prepped for delivery same day. This must be the end of the month????

Has anyone who was on the Otello picked up their car from one of the Philadelphia area dealers yet?

 

We'll be motoring on Saturday... had to wait for stripes and road block to be installed at the dealer.

 

Congratulations! My Clubman didn't have any dealer installed items and I haven't heard a word from them. I would've thought that they wanted to push the easy ones out while it was still July for sales-booking purposes.

I also haven't received the rumored "goodie box" in the mail. Oh well, looks like I need to call my MA tomorrow to find out what is up.

XLMini, not to make the wait worse, but I saw a Pepper White/black, sport stripe Clubman on the road today and

1) It looked great
2) The doofus driving it was grinning like a maniac.

 

No word from my MA today, but my status in the OL has changed to show an estimated delivery date of 8/2/2008!
