Happy 4th of July everyone!!
Scoopmama glad to hear you had such a good time!!
Mini2na have you had time to try out clay on Frodo?? Post pics. K??
Molly will be getting LOTS of TLC this weekend!! I need to use some Swirl on the ClearBra and clay the SunRoof. Anybody having trouble keeping the windows clean...what are you using???

The weather looks like it is going to get Great for the 4th of July. The neighbors go a little overboard and we end up cleaning up a big mess when its all over. So Kimberely you are not alone, though only one of our dogs is shy about the Fireworks.

Molly will be visiting the Dr. on the 16th, she has had the amber "Cog/Exclamaton Point" icon come on twice now. Has anyone else experienced this??

Enjoy your 4th of July Celebrations and remember Our Troops!!

I think the dummy light that you are refering to is about your run-flats being at less pressure than they should be. I think even if you fill your tires you might have to get the light reset. I experienced this problem when I had the loaner a few months back.

I've been having luck with "Invisible Glass" in spray can from Target. It seems to make subsequent clean-ups faster, and I don't see the streaks.

Kimberely, have you tried doggie prozac? (Boy, you can tell I'm a Californian, huh?!) My friend dopes her dogs on the 4th, and they snooze right through the sounds. They used to go ballistic.

My hubby LOVED living in WA, and was very upset to leave the fireworks behind to return to boring "safe and sane" land. However, it's so dry here, it's better to be boring!

She is on something, but it only seems to help a little. I may double her dosage tonight though.

I hope all people, doggies etc. are recovered from the 4th!

Last night, coming home from my brother's, we passed Disneyland just as their spectacular fireworks were going off. Gorgeous! All traffic slowed on the freeway, and the kids got a great show.

The night before, we walked to our town's lake, and watched the display shot off from one of the boating docks. The reflection on the water was so pretty. (I love fireworks! )

Enjoy this last day of the weekend!

Well, we survived the 4th. Poor Maryann is relatively sane and recovering well. I have not enjoyed the 4th since moving to Washington. Too many fireworks - for too long. (They are legal to be shot off for a week.) I live in a war zone one week a year. That being said, my spouse loves the fireworks and is out with the kids on our street until early morning firing the darn things off.

I think the meaning of the fourth is lost amongst the racket. On that note: I hope everyone had a fine 4th. Happy Birthday America!!

Did we REALLY have 2 Days off already?? It sure doesn't seem like it!! I've got some painting projects going on...Formal Dining Room got a fresh coat of paint, it had been bare since we moved in 4.5+ years ago. Hubby's been fixing ceiling mistakes I made when I began painting after we moved in. Today is trim work, painting patch work that we fixed after we took the Wall Heaters out last year, Forced Air was put in 3 years ago. Some cut in work I've neglected to complete the Family Room. AND hopefully if my two legs can keep me standing, later today I'll Detail Molly.

Funny 4th of July Story...Hubby and I were outside, forgot what Hubby was doing, but I was putting up some outside Solar Lights that we bought a while back. A car pulls up on the other side of the street (Older Couple 70ish) we were eves dropping on their conversation, they were talking about what the house used to look like. We knew we were the 3rd Owners (Our FOREVER House; 1978 Ranch/Cascade Park, Vanc. WA), so we summized that they were the Original Owners...sure enough when they made a U-turn in the street they pulled up along the curb and we were able to talk with them for a few minutes...Pretty COOL!!

That is so cool that you got to meet the orig owners! I've driven past the house I lived in when I was a girl, and it's sort of bitter sweet. I want it to be just the same, and see myself playing on the front lawn!

Friends bought a 35-year-old house from the 1st owner, and wondered why there was a bedroom balcony overlooking one of the main 4-lane streets through the town. Photos were brought out. . . 35 years ago the balcony overlooked nothing but lovely rolling hills!

BTW, RJ, I noticed you have these weird looking black spaces on the back on Molly. Did your rear fog lights get stolen? (Heh, heh! I couldn't resist after seeing your post on the other thread about no fog lights!!! )

The vacation is going well. MI and OH are treating us well. The weather is humid and it thunderstorms every other day or so, but it is warm. We went to Cedar Point for a couple of days. The Millenium is still the BEST, but enjoy most of the other coasters as well. The Maverick, with it's 95 degree first hill is a thrill. We enjoyed the 4th on Wamplers Lake at my parent's old house that my brother bought. It was great to see the fireworks over the lake. Nothing was organized, but most of the residents were shooting off something. WA does turn into a war zone, but the MI residents must have access to bigger shells. These were the biggest personal fireworks I have ever seen. We took a short trip to Chicago. The girls got to add IN and IL to their maps of places they have visited now. Chi-town was beautiful. We saw the Blue Man Group, shopped the Magificient Mile (Michigan Ave), went to Navy Pier and took an architectural tour by boat up the river. It was fun. We have also taken in a couple of movies. Wall-E was fun and had a great message to it. Get Smart had me laughing quite a bit of the time, but you have to enjoy silly humor.

We are back with Mom now and headed back up to the lake on Friday. I am in the land of American cars, but we see a few MINIs, especially in Chicago. It will be good to drive Frodo again. The Mom's gets good milege, but is sort of a dog on performance.

Sounds like everone is doing well. I'll post some some pics when I get home, including the remodel.

BTW - Putting my last job behind me feels GOOD!

Your vacation sounds great! Can't wait to see some pictures.

Was on my way out the door today for our monthly MINI breakfast, and a yellow and red indicator were both on that looked a bit like this: (!). Tire pressure indicator. So I stayed home, and opened up the trusty manual.
1. Check tire pressure (oops. . . 30 on 17" runflats=bad!)
2. Refill tires.
3. Reset computer.
4. Drive.
5. All systems go!
6. Confidence in ability to read, follow directions. . . priceless!

I'm back in Vancouver. The trip was wonderful. Pics to come after I download and choose some to share.

I applies for my company name today. I settled on as broad and generic as I could think of and will state specifics in my ads and on my cards. I chose ANYTHING GOES SERVICES LLC. Now I have to wait for approval and then take the next steps of getting insurance and my contractors license.

It is VERY nice to be driving Frodo again. He went over 10K yesterday. It is amazing how used to you get having power and handling. Nothing compares to our MINIs.

Hope all is well with you.

Welcome home! Can't wait to see pics! Your business name sounds great, and with the "Anything" at the beginning of the alphabet, you'll be well placed in phone books.

We decided looking at fuel costs that WA is a bit too far away this summer, and we'll be camping along the coast in Santa Cruz this summer. I LOVE that part of the state, and the day trips from there are too numerous to ever get bored! Can't wait til August!

On a MINI note. . . I bought one of the grille badge holders that bolts to the rear license plate holder, and is magnetic. Bought a badge at the MMW, bought another with Peerage of Pepper White, and THEN hubby came home with with magnetic blanks, so I've made 2 more with stickers! Fun fun fun!!!!

Kermit got his first mod this year. He finally got his windows tinted. He is officially stylin'. I love how cool it keeps the inside. Pics when I can roll down the windows again and clean him up.

I hope that everyone has had a marvelous motoring weekend!!

Flew in from Alaska yesterday AM...Wet and COLD there...nice to see it warmed up, sort of. So I've been away from the 'puter for a week...what's been happenin'??

Kimberely who tinted the windows for you?? I've not talked to Hubby about it, but I think it would be nice to do for Molly...I was going to wait and see what her 1st Summer is like and see if it might be needed.

Not able to get Molly detailed this weekend, resting up for that 4-Letter thing I have to go and do tomorrow!!

I went to "Ultimate Window Tinting" on Hwy 99. They seemed to have done a decent job.

I also ordered Carbon Weave Shelby stripes from Aesthetic Creations for Kermit's boot and bonnet. Couldn't go through life without stripes - no fun there. He'll be a completely different frog when I am done with him.

Cute

I think because we're getting rusty? I noticed there is a week 31 and 32 thread for this year. It's now been a little over a year since the order. Wow a lot has happened ...
Remember the obsessive reading and posting during those long 2-3 months?!

Kimberely - looking forward to seeing the tint job. Did you do the sunroof? (do you have one?) I didn't but have thought about it for the 5 1/2 hours every year that it truly gets hot here

Mini2na - welcome back - glad you had a good time. I'm sure Frodo is very happy to have you back!

RJ - do you use a machine when you do your detailing? I have some of the new Banana Gas on order from Detailers Paradise. Looking forward to trying it.

Scoopmama - glad to hear your blinging out Scoop. I haven't checked into the badges yet...

Is anyone thinking of doing the San Fransisco trip in September? I've heard there are several pdx people going and we might try to catch them on the way down... I think there is an increase in the registration fee after 7/31.

Minicounter...nope just Terry Cloth Pads for application. Yellow (Griot's) MF Towels for Polish removal, and White (also Griot's) MF Towels for Wax removal.

Good Morning!

We WERE obsessive last year, weren't we? I'm not sure it's slowed down much, but there's less hysterical lack of sleep on my part!

Met some folks for the first time who are part of the OC MINI forum, and we had a great ride through some local canyons to the oldest soda fountain still functioning in OC. That was fun. So was the fact that we were 3 pepper whites. Got a lot of folks wanting to chat with us about the MINI experience, and a lot of waves on the way.

http://www.flickr.com/photos/2729177...7606332142354/

They all look so different! And we all look so proud of our babies!

On another note, my neighbor was detailing his RV and boat, and I asked him what he used, since the results were gorgeous! He started raving about how great Adam's products are (I've actually watched the company's online detailing tutorial - over 1 hour! ). Then he said, "Here! Smell this!" and shoved the wet rag in my face. Wow! It smelled great! (It better have, or I would have been. . . displeased). So now I think I need to order this, but it's much more affordable than this:

http://www.beverlyhillsmotorsport.co...e/var_zymol-26

If you browse the site, there's actually one that is 3-4 times expensive, but with lifetime free refills. Hmmm.

Cute frog - but no - Kermit has tons more style!

Kimberely - looking forward to seeing the tint job. Did you do the sunroof? (do you have one?) I didn't but have thought about it for the 5 1/2 hours every year that it truly gets hot here .
I didn't get the sunroof tinted. It already has some tinting anyway. I thought about it though - and talked to the gentleman about it. He quoted me $70+ bucks if I wanted it done later.

They all look so different! And we all look so proud of our babies!
Beautiful lineup!!! Kermit needs more friends to play with. Although, he does like to showoff when he sees a fellow MINI on the road. There seem to be tons of them in the Portland / Vancouver area. Funny, I never noticed that tidbit before I ordered Kermie.

Kimberely - seeing all these new MINI's coming made me wonder if you decided to pull the trigger on a clubman yet! We had one come down for a poker run we did. It was the same outside color scheme as mine... It was very, very nice!

I see in the week 32ers some have even order a clubman JCW! I would guess you're talking some serious dough

Spouse has been looking longingly at the Clubman (he has created several on MINIUSA.) But budget does not allow at this time - and we don't want to get rid of his truck, as they always seem to come in handy.

Happy Birthday

BlueBelle wishes her friends a belated happy birthday! I know Molly is a youngster yet but BlueBelle made the one year mark today and I believe Frodo, Kermit and Scoop should be older that that.

I took her for a drive but I don't think I'll have time to freshen her up today.

This last weekend I used some of the new Banana Gloss wax. It's easy to use and she looks very shiny.

We will be headed to Seattle on Sunday for a quick trip. We will wave to all you northerners on the way.

I hope you're getting many smiles per gallon!

Kermit is having an extended birthday - first sunglasses, next - stripes (maybe in two weeks), and also hitting Alta on Saturday for the air show - might get a stubby antenna. Soon, he'll be the most debonair frog around. Kermie's birthday was end of July (how do I know which day? ).

He wishes great motoring to all fellow Tagusites for their birthdays!!!
