Sorry I wasn't very clear.... The latch I was talking about for the bonnet is the one inside the car by your left leg. The one under the lip of the bonnet is easy once I get the first one pulled.

This spring break will be filled with trips around WA to visit Universities for our junior. The rest of the time will be spent doing the remodel if the permits are back by then. You'd think that they wouldn't have much to do with the housing downturn, but they laid off over half their staff.

 

Ahhh, A mug of Bailey's, an hour of YouTube Monkees, and my vacation has started!!!!!!!! Woo hoo!!!!!

No fair! What I would give for a week vacation. Ah well. Going motoring today. It should be a lovely, clear day of about 60 degrees. I am going up the Columbian Gorge to Hood River to go wine tasting. Phelps Creek has marvelous wines; I just needed an excuse. Spouse has to work today - so Kermie and I will not have a backseat driver. This is windy motoring country, so it'll be tons of fun (Scoopmama - think Ortega Hwy, but no hill). Frodo gets a bath today. Too bad it will all be for naught tomorrow, but it feels nice to give him some TLC.

RJ - get ready for Molly. She'll be the filthiest baby you ever had.... Especially her butt, I mean her boot. If I didn't mention it, IMO you should consider a clear mask for the front end. There is quite a bit of exposed paint up front and I have noticed quite a few nicks in my mask that would have been chips if it had not been there. High $$, but you have to decide the worth to you. (I also got the lightest tint on the windows... I love the look.)

 

Mini2na...we did order the ClearBra. Wanted the make sure Molly was protected for a long long time. My husband didn't even balk at the $$. In fact he let me make all the decisions on what I wanted. It was MY Birthday present BTW.
I'm not sure if we'll tint her, thought about it, but not sure who to go to or $$...any recommendations??
Are you saying that she will need a detailing as soon as she comes home?? I'd better get to ordering ALL my supplies then, HUH!!??

 

No, Rass did a good job of detailing. You will fully understand what I mean by dirty baby when you first drive it in the rain and see that absolutely every bit of filthy you have driven over has actually jumped off the road an onto your boot and rear window. She'll get dirty faster than any car on the road. I don't think the rear wing does much else than look good.

Ultimate in Hazel Dell did a nice job of tinting on another car of mine and give you one free windo re-do if you get a scratch... which happens easily, it is just a film. I got mine done at the same time as the clearbra through the dealer. I played hardball at signing when they were trying to sell me lots of protection packages and got both for about $100 more than they were asking for the bra. They only way to accomplish this is to give the car up for 2 days almost as soon as you get it to have it done. THAT was hard.

Ahhh...now I get what you're saying. I see dirty MINIs all over and I think why haven't those Bad Owners given there Babies a Bath. But then I know come next Winter Molly will not be getting a bath for quite a while I'm sure. So I can't be to hard on them.
I hadn't thought about getting the tinting done at Rasmussen guess I didn't think they actually did that kind of stuff. I'll see what happens at delivery...a LONG 3 Weeks away STILL!!

 

Rass subs the work out to a firm in Beaverton (same place for mask and tint). They seem to do good work.

I forgot to mention the stickers I bought to cover the hideous airbag warning labels on the sun visors. You may not have noticed them during test drives, but you will.

Darn, oh Darn! My Saturn is in the shop for her spring maintenance, plus the transmission needs work. So Scoop is my daily driver. . . WHEEEE~!~!~!
Over 2K miles this week and so I hit that sports button. WOW is that fun! Got a thumbs-up from a 'vette driver today. Love it!

AND my kids are gone, so it's quiet and I play my own music without my 13-year-old's snide comments. Life is great!

OK guys – time for me to break the silence… I’ll bet you thought I was just hard at work… well up until last Saturday I was big-time . However we did the unthinkable and went on a trip to Phonix (no not Oregon) AZ with my son’s baseball team for spring break! They played a couple games in Merced, CA and then on to AZ to watch 2 days of spring training. The Mariners catcher Jamie Burk is from a town near ours and has spent some time with the kids so he gave them some special attention
The trip has been amazing! The icing on the cake was when I discovered that the day our kids are playing a double-header in Las Vegas is the day of a big MINI event!! The main hotel they are using is only 2 miles from where the kids will be playing!! We will be there tonight so plan to check it out.
I am writing all this while we are driving thru the AZ mountains on the way to Las Vegas. Trying out an air card so I can do some business on the trip – it’s pretty cool.
Life is good and BlueBelle is loving it!

 

So happy for you and I wish Frodo and I were there to share the Las Vegas event you and all the other babies.

I had wondered where you were.... Glad you took a break.

Mini2Na I got what you meant I'll have to say I think it's the first time I've taken this many days 'off' since I can remember Technology is wonderful though for allowing me to do a lot of stuff remotely. Hubby is already working on me to come down next year when we can take in the whole event. Would be a fun place to met - hint...hint...

We will have to do a marathon run back home Friday as it will be time that I 'pay' for the time away!

Another bonus of this trip was that my older son and wife were able to make it down to see my younger one play in the games we had in CA.

Yes, your tan WILL give you away. It is SNOWING right now. It is not expected to pile up but....... It is not tanning weather. Can't wait for your reports of the Las Vegas visit and all the MINI owners.

 

Mini2na could you believe the WEATHER we had today!!?? 4-wheeled it into work this morning in the Durango. Molly would have had to stay home today had she been HOME!! Ready for her to make an appearance transcending the Panama Canal tomorrow!! Hopefully I can get a GOOD Pic. of the TRIANON and put it in her Photo Album...yes I already have one for her. Picked it up at Wally Mart, kind of matches her color too. MA says delivery will be between the 15th-20th, Tuesday the 15th counts 8 Weeks!!

 

RJ- don't plan on doing anything but watching the Panama Canal today!!!!! I tried to get pics, but because I didn't save them to anything outside this forum, I was posting real time pics that changed. I only have one, and can't get it out of the word doc I saved it to!!! So plan ahead, and practice with a few unimportant pictures from that site first. (I am a rational, educated person, but after watching my pics disappear from view, I burst into tears and curses! Did I mention I'm also obsessed with my MINI?? ) DON'T let that happen to you!!!!! Have fun!!!

 

My friend Cristina just sent me this picture from Utah. She had stopped at a rest area and there were a group of Minis en route to Las Vegas. What fun!!!

 

Poor Kermie has been booted out of his nice warm garage for a month or so. All of our wood for our floors is taking up his spot. My poor baby. He may not forgive me for this one.

I fell and badly sprained my ankle yesterday. Bummer! Kept it up most of the day, and today it's feeling a bit better. Luckily I had a brace from about 8 years ago that I'd kept. I guess I'll get rid of those cute wedgie clogs. . .

 

Well Scoopmama I apparently was to busy watching Molly transcending the Panama Canal that I failed to read your post. I did get a pic. saved to a file, but it is a night pic. and though my guesses may or may not have been right (Hubby concered that it could possibly be her) it was very hard to tell.
But alas not to fret, the WW site updated last night as well and so I know she safely made it through the Panama Canal and this morning is waking up in the Pacific Ocean.
I'm counting 12 Days until Molly arrives at Rasmussen MINI!!!
