OK we're happy now - Frodo looks great! I love the way it complements the stripes. Thanks for posting the picts!

I would guess Mini2na wants to have his project done so he can MOTOR come summer! (or work on that speaker project )

BTW are any of you thinking of going to the SF event in September?

Yes, your guess is correct. Summer is for vacation and motoring will be a part of it.

I also love the way the way the scoop turned out on the car. It was Scoop that made me first think of it. The picture of Scoop and Zorro really displays the contrast of different colored scoop on your car. I looked up prices and said no, but when the opportunity to get it painted for free and the scoop was already off the car.... I went for it.

San Francisco in September??? Sounds beautiful. Since I'm resigning as of June 30.... I could be free. Tell me more!

Wow-- if you all go in Sept, I will try to make it! That would be so cool! Resigning? Not retiring? One of my friends retired a few weeks after his 40th BD. He's worked really hard and invested well and lives frugally. Congrats on the free time!!

Ugh. . . trip for 4 to SF. Maybe I'll put fake bonnet stripes on my Saturn. . .

I'll let Scoop know she has inspired another MINI. She'll be thrilled!

What IS the Sept. SF event?

I've already "retired" from the State of WA. I'm just resigning from my job in OR to pursue another career. What exactly that career is going to be is anybody's guess.

I worked hard and saved but my kids are approaching college age and I still need to work for a few more years. I just may be taking a break during Sept as I search for that perfect job!

The information is on the website
http://magicalmysteryminitour.com

It is Sept 5,6,7. Some from our Roseburg/Eugene group are going down. I think someone is trying to put together a hotel block as well. Let me know... Should be fun.
I thought we would be including a visit with our son but just heard the other day that he is headed back to the sandbox in June
Scoopmama - I think two cars are in order! Or maybe you could tailer scoop like I noticed some of the Las Vegas people did (what fun is that )

Kimberely and I attended the beginning of the year lunch and raffle in downtown Portland. Kimberely was a BIG winner!

I have not gone on any motors or events yet, there have not been too many this year. It will pick up in the Spring.... if it ever arrives.

The sun is supposed to come out and the rain is to disappear for 3 days! Time for a wash job for Frodo and a bit of spring motoring. I've got 90 days before I can wax because of the new paint. (DidI say Frodo looks GREAT?)

I hope to have the inspector sign off on the electrical this afternoon on the remodel. Everything worked last night when I powered it up. I just hope I routed and stapled everything correctly.

Hope everyone has some fun built into their weekend!

Sun. What a lovely concept.

I had a weird 'episode' with Kermit yesterday. The key fob wouldn't open the door when I pressed the button. And the alarm light on the steering column had a weird light pattern going. I had to actually use the key to get in. Afterward, the door locks didn't lock like they were automatically supposed to. Whatever happened must have reset itself though, because now everything seems fine. Has this happened to anyone?

No Kimberely...at least not in the last 6 days!!
Hey...was wondering about a drive with Molly, to get her out on the open road so I can "Open Her Up" so to speak. Besides our Fry's trip on Sunday, this week has just been back and forth to work. Filled up last night, 1/2 Tank and got 25.5mpg. (9.305g/237.6mi.). Any one know of a good drive to get her out and "Clean out the Pipes" so to speak??

Hwy 14 on the WA side of the river is scenic. Cross over at any bridge you want. (Biggs Junction bridge was closed the last time I drove by.) Crossing at Hood River will allow you to come back I-84 and Multnomah Falls or head all the way around Mt. Hood. You could then do the ride below or come back all the way on 26.

There is a great Mt Hood loop that goes up Hwy 26 then a left turn a mile west of the ranger station in Rhododendron. It follows past the Bull Run reservoir and comes out along the Sandy and to I-84 at Troutdale. I wish I knew the road names.

Longer, but the BEST drive I've EVER taken in Frodo was coming or going to Astoria. Cross the river into Portland via I-5. Take the exit to the Expo Center and head toward the St. John's area. In Scappose go North on US30-Lower Columbia River Hwy. Turn left on the Scappose-Vernonia Hwy. It eventually "Ts" into OR202. Take that north until Astoria. It was well over an hour of constant turns and very little traffic. Some of the roadway is rough, but no pot holes. TAKE IT TAKE IT TAKE IT and let me know how you like it if you have the time.

I passed the rough-in electrical inspection.
Now it's dust time... drywall.
Anyone want to come and help????
I hope I get out this weekend. It is beautiful outside!

Sorry, I am all remodeled out here. We just got done putting 600 square feet of 3/4" hardwood into our downstairs (Brazilian Walnut - looks awesome). The moldings and threshholds are very nearly done. If I see another 'project' any time soon, I could scream.

As for getting out this weekend, methinks a wee drive this morning would be nice. Nothing too interesting, just errands, but I still like to get out.

Good job Mini2na! I think you're probably better off WITHOUT my 'help'
But I can sure think of a nice road trip for you and Kimberely when you're ready for another one!

Well we're off to another baseball game this afternoon if the weather holds. It's kind of bitter-sweet. We've been watching our kids play baseball for about 16 years and it's coming to an end Sooo I guess soon we'll have to think of something else to do with our weekends and every daylight hour of the week... I wonder what BlueBelle accessories we can get for the price of the gloves... bats... shoes... sports fees... etc

Have a great weekend everyone!

Motor on

Minicounter - all that sports $ could get you Focal speakers all around!

Drywall hanging is done. Now I call for another inspection then start the mudding/taping and sanding.

I got Frodo washed and am taking a motor with the wife. Life is GOOD.

Well Mini2na we took your advice, we went the on the first suggested route. We live just off 14, so we took the SR14 route crossed over at Biggs and came back I-84. Hubby napped some, so I guess that means Molly is a KEEPER!!! I have to say it felt like she really smoothed out...I'm not kidding, something was different after we got out a ways, the engine seemed smoother. My imagination?? We stopped at Carson Hot Springs, got some info., prices aren't to bad, Hubby wanted to check it out. I wanted to stop and take some Pics., took my Big Girl's Camera, but that's when Hubby was snoozin'. Multnomah Falls was packed, so that might not have been a good idea to put Molly through. Beatiful day for a drive, thanks again for the suggestion. We stopped and fueled to check MPGs...33.7. Followed up our drive w/Yard Work...Blech!! But after that...Molly got a Bath, Hydro'd, Black Wow'd, Floor Mats cleaned, and Exterior Chrome polished...I'm pooped!!

RJ, glad you had a good motor. The weekend was wonderful in the NW.

I hope everyone's week goes well. Summer's just around the corner and then after 32 years..... NO MORE SCHOOL for me. (at least not every day). Right now I'm planning on getting a contractors license to become a general handyman/remodeler in addition to subbing as a principal on days I am needed. I'm excited at the possibilities. Moving from a job that you rarely see the results of your labor to one that shows you exactly what you have accomplished the moment you do it. Go figure!!!

Motor Happy!
