All Aboard the TAGUS! (Week 31) Leaving Southhampton 8/9/07
I got my Christmas wrapping done!!! Watched Miracle on 34th St while I did it. I am in the spirit now! I also got Frodo washed, finally.
Scoopmama - fun ornaments! I am also printing out some pictures of Frodo and putting them on the tree. That should provide some fodder for the the family for the season.
Scribbledpaper - I understand now. I take my daughter to school each day and after she scratched my piano black door trim with her backpack she has to put it in the boot. When the door is open, all you have to do is hit the unlock toggle switch once in the bottom set of toggles. This will unlock the boot as well as the other door. If the door gets closed, you will have to hit the toggle twice, once will relock the doors, the next will unlock everything. Hope it works for you.

Happy Monday. One more week of school!
Frodo WAS clean for a day. Boy did he look nice. I forgot that he sparkled in the light. The road crust he develops is just not as appealing. It is going to be wonderful dirty car weather for the next week with storm after storm after storm coming in. I'm dreaming of a wet Christmas.
I filled the car on S L O W fill speed this weekend. It took quite a bit of time. I'm not sure that those waiting were too thrilled. I can just imagine the conversations going on like... "He can't have a 50 gallon tank!"

Good morning all!
Hailing from very wet Seattle this morning! We are up here for some business and to meet the daughter and family who are here from Hawaii!
Had to take the truck with all the junk we were taking
Bluebelle will probably be sulking along with the cat when we get back... Oh well she would probably get lost in the puddles up here anyway!
Hope you all have a great day!

I think everyone is pre-holiday busy. I know that I am. But I am looking forward to a four day weekend. Thursday - Sunday off, work Monday, off Tuesday. I know what you are thinking - work Monday?!
But, payroll doesn't stop for the holidays.
On a brighter note, I got out of Christmas cooking completely this holiday. Going to a friend's on Christmas Day and out to dinner at the Heathman in Portland on Christmas eve.
This is the first year in many that I am not entertaining a crowd.
All of my Christmas shopping is done (this is a first for me!) Life is great!!! I got my NAM calender in the mail yesterday!

I have my holiday concert tonight, then the evening school events are over. With school running up so close to the holiday, I wonder what our attendance will be as the week draws to a close.
I'm ready with my presents, whew! The Wii will be the surprise hit!
Kimberely.... Is the calendar a good one??? I've thought about it, but have not bought one. We have a rule in our house (that only I follow
) that we don't buy anything for ourselves between Thanksgiving and Christmas. We'll see what's in my stocking.
We've had lots of absences already this week. Sick kids, kids in Mexico, you name it!
We're hardly going to be home this year for Christmas, so I think I'll put up a small tabletop tree and be done this year! Mom's, in-laws, Mission Inn, Tea time, Disneyland. . . whew! Fun, but little down time until Sunday after Christmas.
What's the weirdest gift you've ever gotten?
When I was 10, my weird Bulgarian immigrant "Grandmama" sent me hot purple huge bell bottoms with a flaming orange hoochy top to go with it. Hmmm. She was living in New York. Maybe that had something to do with it!
a can of sardines
a lump of coal
a chia pet
the clapper
an eggstractor that was supposed to peel a hardboiled egg with the push of a plunger
You make the choice of what was the weirdest.

Merry Christmas to all my extended family. Sorry I haven't posted much recently. This time of year is just way too busy... I'm looking forward to the start of next year when things slow back down. I haven't gone this long without giving Zorro a bath and boy is he a dirty boy! I don't even recognize him as my own from the back. Amazing how dirty his behind gets!
What's the weirdest gift you've ever gotten?
Well I don't know how 'weird' it is (especially coming from a weird family) but every year I and my sisters look forward to a specific package from the parents. I have 2 sisters and we will get (wrapped in the finest of newspaper) large packages of toilet paper (I think it's dad's goodwill gesture for getting us gals out of the house
)
Well a couple years ago - as a rite of passage when they left home - my son and nephew received the small pack. Last year my son got the mega-pack since he was married. Now they are both married so...
Well - we just got back from Seattle and I'm hoping BlueBelle will not act out for being left behind. We are trying to figure out a way to take her down to see my son and wife next week...
Lil A - when you get a chance - did I miss your cruise report?

On a different note. I received a wee Christmas bonus this year and I am torn between getting Kermit's windows tinted and a new golf bag. I don't think that I have enough for both.
Decisions, decisions. Is it against rules to drink eggnog (fully loaded) at 10am? Hmmmm. Probably. But, it does sound good right now. I probably should have breakfast first. Of course it does contain eggs and milk.......
School's out for the Holidays!!! It was a joyous day for the most part. The Christmas stress seemed to melt away from staff and students and everyone (for the most part) shared the best parts of the holiday spirit together.
Things are going to get busy for me from this point forward, so I'll take the time NOW to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays. May your MINIs and families (not necessarily in that order) bring you great joy and contentment.
Motor On!

Ahhh. School is out. It was actually a nice last day before the holidays. Kids were happy, teachers happy, principal happy!
Tomorrow starts the BUSY time of family visits, so it will be a fun time of getting to be with people we love. Who could ask for more, really? (well, rest, no ants in the house, a live-in chef. . .)
Have a wonderful holiday! Hoping there is mistletoe above you, a fluffy pillow under your head, and air in the MINI tires!

I'm up before the family today. I've got the Wii set up to be ready when the controller package gets opened and surprise is out. Can't wait to give and open presents.
I made Frodo a little shelf in the space under the toggles. I cut out a square of foam board and wedged it in the opening. Now there are two levels to store things. When I was messing with that I found that a CD case fits perfectly and rests on the two little rubber bumpers. I can stack ~5 CDs in there. Now I have to decide if I want the shelf in, or to store CD there and re-purpose the secret storage area.
Ah... The creatures are stirring. I better run.
Merry Christmas everyone!!

and MINI Happy Returns!!
Someone asked me a few weeks ago why my car wasn't in the local light parade. I thought next year it would be fun to enter it and put a sign with this on it. Would work especially well when I get my '???CPA' custom plates - which, incidentally, is still registered to a convertible corvette
Had to get another temp tag yesterday until they sort this out...
Frodo got some Hydo and Black WOW.
I got an OXO foam applicator for the tire dressing with numerous foam pads. My mother-in-law got me a MINI phone fob from Berlin when she was there.
It was a wonderful MINI Christmas.
Get anything for yours???

Busy Christmas with out of town family! We STILL haven't had our own family Christmas yet. . .
Had 90 MPH winds Christmas eve, and most of our backyard fence is gone. One of our neighbors lost their entire fence, and others also lost parts. Lots of trees down. SCOOP loves living in the safe garage!
Today was going to be the relaxing nuclear family Christmas, but cough medicine for me, fence repair and the plumber take priority right now. Grr.
Disneyland tomorrow.
The MINIS sound like they've had a great holiday. . .Black wow, CD compartments, how cool! I joined a local Mini Maniacs group, and have my hat and a cool keyring. Scoop got her own little sticker for her window. She's also waiting for the Sassy MC plates to come so she can get her Union Jack plate holders put on as well
So exciting!
Happy holiday recovery!!

Well, we had our family Christmas, and darling hubby got me the yellow MINI for 50 years book (it has a magnetized cover with a yellow/checkerboard pattern) and a Snap-on adjustable wrench for my tool kit. I got Scoop her own set of large playing cards for keeping kids happy on my weekend motoring excursions. FUN FUN FUN!
Sounds like everyone is doing well and had a wonderful Christmas.
We painted our stairwell and hall way yesterday. Setting the ladder up on the stairs to do the two story wall was fun. I especially loved cutting in the wall/ceiling line. I'm good, but being that close to the wall meant bending back and tilting my head to get my bifocals to focus.
It looks great though!
Today the family is headed to Seattle to see my son. We are taking the Subaru because of the gear it takes to go anywhere with 3 women. The young girls are having a rough time getting out of bed right now. We should only be about an hour late leaving.
Continue to be safe MINI family.
