Question

Anybody know if a set or two of golf bags will fit in the back of the coupe (assuming the back seats are laid flat)?

If you bank the down payment, until the end of the lease, you have to come up with about $5000 to purchase or ($140 more a month). This could be attractive in certain situations like wanting to beat the car (heaven forbid) or having a non-totaled accident. You just walk away from the car.
IMO, leasing a Mini is totally out of the question. This is a car that BEGS to be driven. I imagine you'll bust your mileage restrictions pretty quick!

S0 ture......lease was the original plan, then the Mini select, but after waiting two months, at time of delivery seeing Skeeter and comparing the "real numbers" of the residual on the lease and the payoff on the Mini select............it was like "Buy"
With $5k down and credit union rate of 6%, my payments was less than the lease, and Skeeter will be free and clear in 18 months or less...........and no watching the ODO and thinking he should stay parked on a weekend.

Still trying to name her (or him)

Ok, let me run this one by you... I was trying to think of a name to fit my Mini (obviously...duh). She's (or he's) pure silver so I think it has to be a sexy name. I'm thinking Charlize. I mean, she's sexy AND she drove a Mini in Italian Job. What are your thoughts.... let me know...and....BE HONEST.

A super-size thank you to everyone who posted pics of the canal passage.
Fall semester started the 20th and, for some unknown educational reason, I ended up with homework, large amounts of reading and my very first speeding ticket--my feet were thinking of MINI

Good Morning All! 4 DAYS TO PT. HUENEME!!!!!
I think I'm going to succumb and call my MA today. Find out if any work is getting done at VDC cheaply or if the dealer will do it all, and I mean ALL! Including the Chrome Exterior he forgot to add in on the order

I like Charlize. . . it's better than naming it Donald after Sutherland's silver hair!!

JaneBond~ Homework the first day? AND a ticket? Bummer! I remember those days. . .

Has anyone started planning their first drive home from the dealer?

On a regular drive, my dealer is about 11 miles away from where I live. BUT if I drive to PCH, down past Oceanside, take the 76 over to Temecula, and go up the 15 to Ortega Hwy (twisties galore both up and down the mountains!!!), I think I can get a good 200 miles on Scoop before getting home! Makes me wish I'd a bought from a dealer REALLY far away!

Ortega sounds fun

I used to live down that way (a long long time ago.....) in the Temecula area.

As for me - I am thinking of driving around Mt. Hood and across the Bridge of the Gods.

That sounds like a wonderful trip. May just do that one myself.

My MINI is yet unnamed, but how does the name Frodo sound? Small, yet a force to be reckoned with.

I like the name FRODO. It suits. You will need a ring in your MINI at all times.

Just making a post to keep this thread near the top. I hate having to go to the next page to check on the latest posts

So anyway... has anyone heard from TAGUS???? Shouldn't it have at least reached Cabo by now? And have you seen the amount of ship traffic in Los Angeles Harbor???? How is TAGUS supposed to get near the docks with all that traffic???? If it even gets there.... I can't take all these delays. My wife says I need to get therapy. Anyone want to go for group?

Have our wives been in touch? I think I heard the same thing last week.

Just following my anticipated build date, she first became concerned. I was spending a lot more time on the internet... first thing in the morning, last thing before I went to bed and times inbetween. I was "talking" to strangers in a chat room. I was sharing things that I felt deeply about. When confronted in a family intervention, I showed her what I was up to. I freely gave her access to my words as well as all of yours. She was relieved. I WAS involved with a new love, but not one that would compete for me at her level. BUT... She still thinks I need help and I DO! I need Frodo to arrive!

I bought my first accessory!!! I ordered the GoMINIGo glovebox organizer. Threads here say it is great and it is $5 off for a couple more days.

Are any of you going to be able to post the off-loading or docking photos? Do we even have access to them?

Thanks for the support everyone. I'd gladly go to group therapy with this group. You understand my MINI-obsession.

I am fairly certain I should be in therapy as well

I have been babbling animatedly at my husband and pugs for the last 3 weeks, and now it has spilled over to the people at work. I have seen several rolling eyes mixed with a mirthful condescension. As long as my padded cell is BRG with Tuscan Leather I will be fine with that.

Sorry to say there are no live cams for Port Hueneme, so once at dock nothing to do but wait patiently.

Decided to pop in and post a link since Tagus is getting closer. The link below is for the Shine Micro sight. You can create a free account, and their software has some advantages over ASIfree once Targus is within range.
The "Google Maps AIS live display" works rather well for it's being a beta version. Good luck on the tracking and congrats on surving to this point.

The Norse had all sorts of gods. . .Thor, Woden, Froeda. . . but they never mention the god Tharkun: god of sea port tracking. We bow to you, oh great Tharkun! May your tires stay inflated, the grill stay bug-free, and the windshield unchipped!

Thanks, but no god....was just a bit of an obessive compulsive when tracking Skeeter. So still have not forgot how long the wait was, and how much time it took to figure out the tracking game.

Another tid-bit of info, the ships do load/unload 24hrs, some thought they only unloaded during daylight hours. Once docked if you check the WW auto cargo list, it will either update as each Mini is off loaded, or it will do an update once Tagus departs, using the same time stamp for all.
The fun part is you won't know what time Tagus will unload your Minis', so stock up on food and drink near the puter and patienty wait to see what happens.
