Pretty much. They told me they just send them to auction and whatever they go for at auction is what they give me. whatever...

Any ideas how to answer them on that one, oh great wise Tharkun?

So, does your dealer install everything before or after paperwork is signed? Mine waits to do the work after I've signed everything, which makes sense!
Professional???? The teachers have told the kids about my obession and now they are asking me for updates. I don't think professional would be the word to describe me right now.
No dealer installed options. All he wants is a check.
I got it scheduled for a Thursday 4P pickup. Driving straight over to the bra an tint place. I will have it back EARLY Saturday morning. The hard part will be having it for about 15 minutes as I drive from dealership to shop. Maybe the pickup will be short and I can drive around for a bit before the 6P shop close.
Can't stop smiling!

I don't want to put MINI in rush hour on his first playdate

Best way if you have time and are in the financial situation is to sell it privately. As you know Mini dealers are not starving for sales of Mini's, so getting them you come any where near Kelly's or Edmunds (which seems to be there preference) is not going to happen.
I just sold a 2006 Yamaha V-Star 1100 on eBay and did well, also have sold two cars on eBay in the last few years and actually received more than had I sold them privatley locally.
But as for an answer for them....."okay, where do I sign so I can take my Mini and leave".

I am SOOOO excited!!
OMG! OMG!! OMG!!! I just got so excited for you!!!! My wife thought it was MY Mini that was available when she heard my yelling! She is convinced I've gone overboard now, getting excited for my Mini family... Hopefully after spending time with our Minis they'll understand our enthusiasm, but as of now, they are just lost souls with no understanding... How sad...

Pout. I called my MA finally. No, my MINI is not at Rasmussen yet. Jarid said a delivery date of the 12th and then to me by anywhere from 15th - 18th. Pout. I am so excited for everyone, but going through frustration of not a lot of "Woot Woot" news. (Scoopmama - I don't what that means either~horn maybe?) Coming up with new name though. My hubby likes it anyway. Kermit. Still tentative though - must meet her/him first. Going to be such a looooong week, and it doesn't even start until tomorrow.

Scoopmama and Mini2na - concerning the clear bra. Taking it off a few years down the road will not discolor paint underneath (or hurt it at all) - in fact it will stay pristine. But, it will be shiny compared to the rest of the MINI's paintjob which may have faded some over the years. This is per Mr. Kimberely.

MY MINI IS IN!

MY MINI IS IN! MY MINI IS IN!! MY MINI IS IN!!! WOOT WOOT!!!!

OK, that's the incredible news... now for the Torturous news! My clear bra and tint wont be installed until Tuesday and I leave for vacation on Tuesday My whole vacation is going to be ruined because I wont be able to think of anything but my Mini! Not that that's different than any other day for the past 3 months....

But it gets worse. I get back the evening of the 17th but not until after the dealer is closed. THEN...my MA is off until Friday the 21st! CAN YOU BELIEVE THAT!!! This is just PURE TORTURE!!!! I'm sure Scoop and Kermit and Frodo will be broken in by then oh well... at least my Mini is safe and sound at the dealer. I made my MA promise he wouldn't let anyone test drive it while I'm away.

I'm going to call my MA back right now and see if I can bring a blanket and a couple of books to read my Mini tonight. You think they'll let me spend the night? I'll let you know what he says...

Lil A - Torture is right. Sorry. But you will have something to look forward to. Are you SURE your MA has to be there on pickup? That's cold!

YAAAYYYYY! I think you need to:

1 - Name the baby!
2 - See if your dealership will let another MA deliver the car for you!
3 - Bring "Go Dog, Go!" tonight to read to Alana~ (That's what I call her!) All the big dogs and little dogs go for long rides in their FAST little cars!!!!!!

Great news, but I totally feel your pain!!

WOW! I was sure our babies were sharing a transport. It sounds like JanebOnd and mine were. Well, realize that it will really only be one more weekend. (That's easy for me to say)

I have a hard target date now, which is good, but knowing how close it is... FRUSTRATING . Don't they know this is all about ME (and Frodo)?

And about Frodo... The family is just not going along with the name. I will be the one to decide on the name, but having ALL of them groan when I utter it is a bit disheartening. I may have to unname him until he arrives.

Naming is very personal. I defer to TS Eliot concerning the "Naming of Cats"
http://www.dentonbach.com/poems/7.htm (Also in the musical CATS). You will know him/her name when you meet. Have you ever read any Anne McCaffrey - referring to how the dragons are named. They tell you their names. Sorry that I have gone literary and obscure ~ I am under the influence of a lovely Petit Sirah.

No, they want me to sign the papers tomorrow amd then they'll do all the extras. FUN stuff! Those cute (and pricey!!!) driving lights, chrome, etc.
Scoop is going to look like SUCH a GIRLY car! But a wild little thing under the bonnet! But I love it, since all the other things in my life contain testosterone . . . I might not have her until MON or TUES. . .

Just some friendly advice, I would not sign any of the final papers until delivery day and you have the option of inspecting Scoop completely. Not saying you don't have a stand up dealer, but would be courious why they ask you to sign before taking delivery.

Don't forget your checklist!

Here's a delivery checklist I ran across that seems pretty comprehensive, albeit, old. I've already printed mine out and plan on taking it to delivery.

I have mine too. Don't acquiesce to anything, until you know the 'scoop'

Kimberly, I have to ask...do you have a high squeaky voice? I only ask because when I read your posts I hear it in a high squeaky voice. I'm not saying that in a bad way...it sounds cute...to me anyway

Does anyone else hear a different voice when they read these posts? Or am I just looney???

just curious...

Ok, lets see...it's 12:20 am and I'm not sleeping. Why you ask?? Because I'm still trying to think of names for my Mini!!!! I was thinking about Fergie cuz the Mini looks so Fergalicious! Whaddya think? I guess I'll have to run it by wife and daughter first... I hope the rest of you are having sweet Mini dreams of long drives on twisty roads... if only I could sleep....

Morning all. Last night, mine was a vintage 3 Buck Chuck Merlot. I just don't have the palate to appreciate the finer differences in wine.

Thanks for the literary references. I love to read. It's hard to think of anything else (except my baby) now that I'm into the Potter book. They have just been captured and taken to the Malfoy Mansion. Things look bleak for our hero.....

Lil A - PLEASE consider 'Frodo' if it fits. We wouldn't mind if there were another out there in MINI land. I could also say, "See, Frodo is a great name. There's another down in AZ!" Fergie sounds great though too.

Scoopmama - I live in a land of estrogen. Wife, kids, staff.... My testoserone producing friends don't see how I do it. MOST of the time I love it!

No. I don't have a high squeeky voice. I am quite the alto. I don't exactly know how you segue from squeeky to cute, but I will let it slide. I hadn't thought about applying different voices to each person because some of the 'handles' are rather ambiguous genderwise. You could possibly be looney, or maybe just quite imaginitive.

Good Morning all! Oh do I need coffee. I do believe that I tied one on last night...............where is my Aleve?
