Lil A - have fun in Reno - (my alma mater is there). I would hate to leave my MINI for that long as well. Why would they take the Tagus Family site away? They already moved us once; it would be rude to delete us!!!

I have been known to enjoy a puff off of a cigar now and again. I am not a smoker so this is only on special occasions. I especially like them when also enjoying a nice port or cognac. Last nice I was enjoying a night of good friends, great wine, and lovely cigars.

This is so exciting! I can't wait to see all the pictures of our little MINIs!

As we speak (or as I write) my wonderful hubby is in the garage with Scoop's measurements, making room for her. This is along the lines of Bush pulling out of Iraq tomorrow! The neighbors are staring in wonder (well, the one who is still awake, at any rate!)

This garage is the polar opposite of the Tharkun shrine. . .it IS carpeted (former owner) and full of stuff. Our other cars sit outside in the sun, and go through regular car washes and have VIN #s I'm sure and randomly assigned license plates. I sure hope they aren't too jealous! Scoop gets her own indoor space, I've memorized her VIN and bought the personalized plates!

Took my boys by the dealership on the way home from the dentist today (only about 8 miles out of the way!!). My 7-year-old saw her in the private orders lot, called out, "Scoop! You're home!" and put his arms across the bonnet and hugged her! Of course I DIDN'T have my camera, but will try to get him to re-create the experience when I get her Wed (I think!)

Scoop is really having bling issues. She is the first MCS the dealership has seen that DIDN'T have the chrome gas cap! Go figure. . .

Have to go. Needed to call my mom-she sold a painting today and I'm so happy for her!

Is anyone popping champagne when you bring your MNI home? I'm considering it, but then that 17 bucks for Korbel COULD get some nice premium gas. . . What to do?????
hmmm... do the champagne. scoop only comes home once

Do you know if Rasmussen has taken delivery of the MINI's yet--or is your appointment tentative?

My MINI has been there since 9/7. It will be ready tomorrow, but I can't get there until Thursday.
Kimberely has an arrival date of the 12th I think. It may be a truck that is headed on to Seattle/Tacoma with Dewayneg's Baby.

I want to thank Harry Potter for keeping me busy for parts of 4 days. It has kept my mind off of NOT having my MINI yet. But I'm done now (the best book of the series IMO) and I'm back to obessing. Only 2 more days. Only 2 more days!

I WILL toast my baby upon my return from our first drive. Not really into champagne, but probably a nice red wine.

Scoopmama - Scoop comes soon. You'll be the second of the group. We're with you in spirit.

According to the Owner's Lounge my arrival day was the 9th, but since I haven't heard anything about it being here, I assume that it is traveling with Kimberely's. I had a slight urge to swing by Rasmussen on my way home from work today, but I resisted.

I'm really hoping that the OL is whacked and handing out wrong data. My "estimated delivery date" used to be 9/12 in the OL but has recently changed to 9/16.

I've got a call into my MA but he's out for the next couple days. I'm heading to LA this weekend so it may not end up being a big deal but the ambiguity is killing me

You could have gone to LA and picked it up! Scoop will be ready this week and he's in the LA area. No matter what the screw up is, it will all be over soon. (in a good way )

I was really hoping for an "it's in early" call, but alas NO. I am now dreading the "it's coming later than we thought it would" call. My current vehicle is a Ford Taurus (rental), which is, shall we say, less than impressive. Talk about making an anxious situation worse. :impatient

All hope is not lost for you -- for your sake, I'm hoping the delay was caused by the iPod adapter going in at the VDC and not by the truck heading north slipping its schedule...

What date does the OL give in the Order Details section for you?

Nightmare

I am not a vivid dreamer, but I had a doozy last night.

I went to pick up my MINI and they had given mine to wrong person. Calls to that mystery person to return it yielded "NO, I like this one!" The dealer offered to order me a new one or for me to take one that had on the lot. It happened to be a beautiful lavender with a pink top. The last option had something to do with giving me BOTH sets of floormats rubber AND carpeted. Great deal for me. I awoke and was not able to return to restful sleep.
ARRRRRG!
Pick up on Thursday will not be soon enough.

My MA told me that this was a dealer installed option.

I can't remember if I mentioned this here but it's definitely something to keep in mind... if there is a package or expensive part you want from service, an option you didn't get, or something you want to change, etc. typically 4-6 months after you get the car MINI typically mails out a 25% off one item/package from the parts/service department.

Great information
I can't find your post (if you wrote one) on something I should check on when I pick up my baby. Is there something about "weeping wipers". Also, where is this secret compartment people talk about?

Hi All! Well, the garage has a bit of space for Scoop, and ALL kinds of boxes and bubble wrap are stacked in my master bath tub and shower
But she's worth it!

She still awaits her gas cap and the rear chrome strip, BUT I get to get her tonight!!!!!!!!!! She'll have a trip to visit MINI Irvine next Wednesday and get the rest of everything put on.

I can't wait!

I hope all the other MINIs are united with their mommies and daddies this weekend~ That would be so cool!

Mini2na~ I blitzed through reading your post, and thought it REALLY happened for a few seconds Now THAT'S a doozy of a dream!!!

I am so excited about the new addition to the Scoopmama family. I am so envious that I could just scream. If I do not hear word of my MINI's whereabouts soon, I could begin drinking heavily in another hour+. But, I digress. Congratulations Scoopmama!!! on your babe and your new improved garage!

I'm craving a glass of wine while I wait for my MA to call, but I need to be sober for Scoop!!! Go ahead and have a glass for me, Kimberely!
