I'll try to do a little more research into how fast TAGUS actually goes... but first... I need to go get some coffee!

Average speed of the WW ships vary from 16-20 knots, the faster speed is of course the newest ships, 2000 and after. This is from various sources, so it is not 100% accurate, but for most of the WW lines you can use 16 knots for an average and be close enough.

Maybe all of the MINI enquiring minds have swamped the AIS site.

Couple of side notes...

Scoopmama - I had a dream last night I was driving home from the dealer with Charlize and I took the long way home (through Temecula). I quickly pulled over at a rest stop because I saw another Mini there. I jumped out of the car and said, "Scoop!" Kinda weird, huh?

Tharkun - I finally saw Skeeter on another thread. That is the exact color combination I originally built/wanted. The only reason I changed my mind is because I see a lot of blue and red Mini's around the Phoenix area. I went with PS because I saw it on a new Mini at the dealer and thought it was really pretty. But I think your color combo rocks! NICE

I am so going to miss you guys for the next few days Hopefully by Sunday we'll be up and running and obsessing together again

Deciding on a color scheme for a Mini is not easy, I don't think there is a "bad" choice. Have only seen about 5 other Mini's in town and went with the Lght/Blu since not seeing any in the area. Thanks for the nice comments about Skeeter, he does attract some attention around town.

The link below has several pics of delivery and misc, need to finish up his web page and post a link, have about 80 pics organize.

See AIS is still broken, Tagus may be docked by the time they have the sight working again.

Great pics Tharkun, thank you for posting them. So... did you take off all the wheels JUST to clean them?

I love the sideways parking job in the garage. I have a three-car garage and I'm already planning to see if I can pull into one garage door and out the other. If I can do it I'll post some video!

Soooo, PM Lil A with your email address if you can't stand the thought of the next crucial, tense hours without our Tagus site, and we can still keep in touch, with our dreams (cute one, Lil A!) our heros (Tharkun, you're it!) and our responsible members of the working world, which I'll be on Tuesday next week. So if you don't hear from me during the day, all is well in the land of middle school!!

So, click on Lil A in the upper left corner of his post, and take it from there!!!
Woo- hoo!!!

Removed the wheels for two reasons:
1) Sprayed two coats of Scotch Guard water repellant on the fabric in the fender wells, hopefully to aid in cleaning them in our 2 or 3 month rainy season.
2) Cleaned and waxed the rims in the hopes if only needing to remove them once a month for a full cleaning/detail.

Parked Skeeter sideways in the garage for three resons:
1) Better lighting from the flourescent lights.
2) To anger my neighbors with two and three car garages that either can't get a car in becasue they use them as storage units...or becasue they have a SUV or Hummer.
3) But really "just because I can"

Looks like you folks better start treking down to Baja and get all of your Mini's back onboard or they will never make it to Port Hueneme this week.

It would probably take a 1000 pt. turn to accomplish sideways and then out again, but I could probably do that in my garage too. 'Course it is technically the hubby's garage and he may not allow it. Hmmm. The pic would be priceless though. I must plot.

Actually it was easy, a normal double garage door is about 18' wide, the Mini is 12' -1". I backed in at an angle, pulled forward...parked. Same for getting back out..........well Skeeter was on the jacks, one of our neighbors drove by, she stopped, and asked " don't the Mini's come with wheels" I chuckled and replied no. (assumed she was joking) A few hours later, her husband was over to ask how I managed to get the Mini home with no wheels or tires

Some people.

Well the AIS map for Targus just crashed, at this point you may just have to watch theWW sight to see when Tagus departs Port Hueneme, and then you will see a time stmp for unloading of the Mini's.

Is this the first group of MINIs ever to be so reluctant to be tracked? Those little scamps!

Ya....your voyage has had more than usual tracking issues, but could be just a rowdy bunch of Mini's. Or just a few wild Californiaians being a pain.

Getting closer!

Somehow, I seem to get lucky with AIS -- I just checked the map, and it shows Tagus chugging on up the Baja coast, just north of Vizcaino Bay. Map is attached.

AIS for Targus is hung, has been showing that location since early morning, so the site is rather useless for now.

Of course not. I am still on pins and needles checking it regularly. It will be my only link to sanity in a little over an hours time ~ for who knows how many hours/days. I am going to fortify myself for the long hours looming ahead with concoctions well over 40 proof. "I think I can, I think I can"....:impatient

If my MINI is her mother's girlie, she will be drinking a margarita and enjoying the sun of So. CA.

We're baaaaaack!!

Good morning all! Just had a thought (pre-coffee, so don't count it for much. . . ) about the aislive site. How many of us on it had the 2-week free trial subscription that we used for checking the departure from Southampton and the passage through the P-Canal? If that's what we're using, our subscriptions ran out before yesterday!

Maybe that's why we're only getting Mexico?

Anyway, Tagus is due to arrive/depart Hueneme today--I'm on pins and needles! Really thought about driving up that way; it's about 2 hours on the wrong side of LA traffic though. Asked my friend whose mother lives up there if she could go watch and take pictures. Nope. So I guess I'll start stalking the dealer Monday or Tuesday!

We lucked out! WW closes down in Hueneme on the 4th, and doesn't labor on Labor Day!

How hot/humid is it for you? Here in OC yesterday it was in the high '90s with really high humidity, but no rain!!

WOW - that was fast (cartwheels). I have been tracking the Tagus. It is in port, per the Los Angeles approach. They should definitely dock and be unloaded by today. My MA is still quoting third week in September. I certainly hope that he is just beong so conservative that he will look like a hero when it is early.

For me the ASIfree maps are still not updating, it stoll shows kust the Baja area with Tagus gone. Panama maps is the only one I'm able to have work as it should.

Hot what is that, yesterday was cooler than the last four days, never made it past 103.

Kimberely~ when did you sign up with ais for your free trial? within the last 2 weeks? I'm thinking that maybe my free trial ran out, or I'm not on the free site??? Weird!

That's so cool to know where Tagus is!!! Keep us posted
In fact, don't leave your computer today! Well, except for those darling pugs!
