All Aboard the TAGUS! (Week 31) Leaving Southhampton 8/9/07
Good Morning all. Well, it is going to be a busy day (no work included.) My friend flies in from San Jose to take my CRV off of my hands. So, I spent most of yesterday getting the house "guest" ready. Pugs leave an inordinate amount of fur in their wakes. Anyway plane is here at 10:30am so I have enough time to get to the last odds and ends around the house. After today - I will be renting a car until my MINI is delivered. So close and yet so far away.
A quick good morning before work begins.
Lil A - Can you quickly review the weeping issue with the wipers. I may push up my inspection if something may need to be done.
Scoopmama.... beautiful. Hard to believe they left off the chrome gas cap.
Smaine - Glad to hear that you were obsessing with us. I worry about anyone that can just sit and wait.
Kimberely - Have fun with the guests. That should take your mind off the pending arrival Wednesday, but wouldn't it be nice to take them for a ride to the Coast on these 2 90+ degree days.
Janeb0nd - did you push up your tint and bra appointment?
90+ Mon and Tues + lots of kids - any air conditioning = sticky mess.

Kimberely, have you heard anything from Jarid yet about your car? I sent him an email yesterday, I'm hoping he will answer today. According to the owner's lounge my car should have been delivered yesterday and if it is indeed here in Portland I would like to have it this week!
I talked to him on Saturday. He told me my car had not yet arrived but that it was en route and should be there by Wednesday. Hell, I can drive from So CA to here in 18 hours, so I cannot see it taking quite that long. I am hoping for a call today so that I can have it by this weekend.:impatient That would just make my week.
beautiful car! I love pepper white and matching roof color! What are you getting put on at the dealer if you don't mind me asking?
I will look into it and ask my MA about it if you'd like. FugitiveAI was the one who posted that issue and that was the first I had heard about it.
I just heard from my MA and the news isn't good.
Thanks for the email. Your car should be here in a few days as it is making its way to us from Los Angeles. I would estimate its arrival date as 9/13. From there the normal processing timeframe is 3-5 business days. I would estimate your car to be ready to be picked up September 21-22. Hope this helps. Please let me know if I can give you further info. Thanks again.

Would seem like your MA is being overly cautious on a delivery date. Unless the dealer is really back logged on deliveries, or you have dealer add ons, should not take 3- 5 days for prep and delivery.
The only thing the dealer is installing is an IPOD adaptor. I was very optimistic that I would have the car this week, now I'm pretty sure I won't. Maybe I can swing by after work and visit it :impatient
Still Nameless
Well the ideas keep coming in and I keep shooting them down. Here are a few of the latest:
Hammer. A friend suggested this one because of MC (Mini Cooper) Hammer. I thought this might be cute because when I'm driving, it's "Hammer Time" and if someone else asks to drive it, I'll say, "Can't Touch This." But what kind of name is Hammer anyway.
Then, my daughter, who is a movie buff and loves the movie "300" told me I should name it either, "Leonidus" or "Spartan." Now, I actually like the name Spartan but it doesn't really roll off the tongue that easily.
I thought of just calling it Coop since that will probably be how I refer to it most of the time, but I thought that was pretty lame.
Then I came back to Charlize. Ahhh, Charlize. I may have to just tell the wife to pound sand...it's my car and I'll name it what I want!
Then I woke up.
So... it appears I'm still nameless...
Thanks for listening

Hey all -- I haven't been posting much to this thread since we went through the canal but I've been checking it multiple times a day since Tagus sailed from Southampton. Listening to everyone elses expriences has really helped pass the time and kept me from going completely nuts. It's really cool to see people finally getting unitied with their long-awaited MINI's
BTW, Kimberly -- I think we're both on the same truck. OL says that my guy will be in Tacoma on the 12th -- probably just after a quick stop in Portland to drop yours off.
And janeb0nd...props to the color choice. MY rocks!
Here's hoping this will be THE WEEK...

really want to see pics when you get your baby. I struggled (a wee bit) with roof color until I saw a ly/ly in my area (sans stripes)I am sure the black top will be zesty!

As soon as I take possession I will push up the date for the tint and bra--I've rescheduled once so I do not want to bump just yet in case the delivery truck gets caught in the Murphy's law triangle
I do have some pics of a friends car that has tint and bra by Tommy's--I will try to get them into the gallery tonight.

Ipod for Skeeter was about 1.5 hours, and I would suggest taking your Ipod along with you when you take delivery, do a testing of the system. Have read a couple of posts of Ipod being installed and when arriving at home and trying them they had issues, seems dealers do not test the system with an actual Ipod.

Ooh, can't have TAGUS disappear off the postings before 11!
This is so exciting! I can't wait to see all the pictures of our little MINIs!
As we speak (or as I write) my wonderful hubby is in the garage with Scoop's measurements, making room for her. This is along the lines of Bush pulling out of Iraq tomorrow! The neighbors are staring in wonder (well, the one who is still awake, at any rate!)
This garage is the polar opposite of the Tharkun shrine. . .it IS carpeted (former owner) and full of stuff. Our other cars sit outside in the sun, and go through regular car washes and have VIN #s I'm sure and randomly assigned license plates. I sure hope they aren't too jealous! Scoop gets her own indoor space, I've memorized her VIN and bought the personalized plates!
Took my boys by the dealership on the way home from the dentist today (only about 8 miles out of the way!!). My 7-year-old saw her in the private orders lot, called out, "Scoop! You're home!" and put his arms across the bonnet and hugged her!
Of course I DIDN'T have my camera, but will try to get him to re-create the experience when I get her Wed (I think!)
Scoop is really having bling issues. She is the first MCS the dealership has seen that DIDN'T have the chrome gas cap! Go figure. . .
Have to go. Needed to call my mom-she sold a painting today and I'm so happy for her!
Is anyone popping champagne when you bring your MNI home? I'm considering it, but then that 17 bucks for Korbel COULD get some nice premium gas. . .
What to do?????

I have had several lovely pinot noirs with new owner of my Honda. We were toasting to her new car and my pending MINI. A very happy eve, complete with some nice cigars. Perfect. Good night all!
Will NAM send the TAGUS site away? If so, one of us needs to start another thread and entitle it TAGUS Family so we don't lose track of each other. I'm not going to pop champagne for awhile after I bring my Mini home...you never know when the urge to drive will arise and I want to be always ready!
Kimberly- Do YOU smoke Cigars as well? Please say no...I don't want to start dreaming of you too!
I LOVE a good cigar. Already have about a dozen packed for my trip to Reno this afternoon.
My MA called yesterday...told me my Mini would be ready today at 11:00 a.m. if I wanted to pick it up. We set a date to pick up on Friday, 9/21 at 2:00 p.m. It's getting really hard not to cancel my vacation!
I will try to pop in and say hi while I'm in Reno. I hope my cousin doesn't mind me using her computer...
Looking forward to seeing all the babies! TTFN
