Oh God! It will be like the afternoon of the 20th. I'm not even going to think of posting pictures!!!
My legs had cramps when I finally got up from the computer, we ate late, and the dishes were piled up in the sink. Kids were hungry. . .
I think Sat. will be Subway and pizza delivery day!
Nobody bother me. . . I'm glued to the screen!

and you call yourself "a BIT of an obessive compulsive when tracking Skeeter."??? I think you qualify for saving the rest of our relationships! We can all show our partners your posts and say, "See honey? I could be like THIS guy!!!"

LOL!

I think I'm in trouble... I let it slip at work that I named my Mini. Now my coworkers KNOW I'm nuts. So....since y'all may be the only friends I have left... how are we going to keep in touch after we get our babies? Should we start our own "family" thread, or should we just keep this one going? I need to know these things! :impatient

Don't all people name their cars?

I mean, I didn't name the one I have now, but I don't - you know - love it. It is just a car/SUV whatever. But cars that you love? Doesn't everybody name those? Does no one love their cars where you work? How sad.

My last two cars have had names - Sven (Volvo) and Alex (Lexus). Reggie will be the coolest car by far.

The people at work already know I'm crazy so no one is surprised.

Loony? Of course we are, but it's just a flesh wound.

As for keeping track... I haven't done it, but I think we can create a thread, or keep this one and then subscribe to it with an email notification. Has anyone tried it?

1. Yes, we need to keep in touch!

2. Get aggressive at work! If they look at you as if you are crazy, just return the look and say, with ATTITUDE, "You named your CHILD, didn't you?????" with an affronted, indignant tone! That will teach them!!!!

naming a car is not exactly abnormal...

going out to the parking lot and having a conversation with it at break time or leaving the radio on to keep it company while you are gone might also qualify

my buddies at work already rip on me after seeing me on NAM and other MINI sites from my office computer every day.

not only did i name it, but i'm gonna buy it gifts every birthday

I agree on keeping in touch. should we keep this thread going or make a new one?

Tracking update

I haven't seen Tagus show up on http://aisfree.aislive.com/Influx.as...Coast%20Mexico but I have seen some familiar ships.

I spotted the Octavia off the southen coast of Baja this morning. Most recently, the Hanjin Osaka was spotted just south of Vizcaino Bay (midway up the coast).

These two were a couple ships in front of us coming though the Pacific side of the canal...

Just data. Tagus is out there somewhere, and getting closer by the minute...

Thanks for the data. It is kinda weird that we don't see her. She would appear to be between grids - or is there something that the Tagus has to do in order to appear on the grid? - or is it more like a gps?

Hang in there folks, depending on what Tagus has been doing for an average speed, she could pop on AIS as late as tomorrow morning. Kep checking and eventually someone will spot her, I'mll be around as well and will post if I spot her.

We'll all be here when the site comes back up.

Have a great holiday weekend everyone. It should be the last one we spend without our babies.

music

Has anyone decided what will be the first sounds played in their MINI, besides aaaaaaaaaaaaah?

40 Licks by the Stones, Beast of Burden 1st, and I plan on driving until both discs have played through--somewhere around 2 1/2 hrs

I tend to play The Who's Won't Get Fooled Again at all significant life events.

How about 'Tease Me Please Me' by the Scorpions? Sounds good to me.

Songs. . . this is going to sound weird. I don't want to listen to any music for the first drive. . .just the sounds of Scoop! Now for the second time out who knows? I don't really have a favorite song, but it will probably be classic rock of some sort. Or the Austin Lounge Lizards. Maybe Berlin. Oh goody! Something new to obsess about

Songs.... I agree with Scoopmama. The sweet song of Frodo's engine will be music to my ears the first time.

The next drive? Some Bruce, Goo Goo Dolls, Eagles and derivatives, Counting Crows..... I also will throw in 40 Licks on janeb0nd's suggestion.

As for sounding rational... I better sound rational 40 minutes before providing inservice to 60 staff. Now that its over, I can go back to obsession during my lunch break.

What is inservice? That sounds like training or some such? How do you keep composure during our collective crises?

Port Hueneme

A shot of where your Mini's are steaming towards, even if it seems slow. There are only two RO/RO docks, and in the pic both are ships of the WW lines.
I was off on the arrival date, Tagus may not show up on AIS till early on Saturday.
