OMG! How could August 2 have come and gone without notice? Yikes! I must be better adjusted than I thought!

It sounds as though Kermie is getting the royal treatment. Is he a prince in disguise? Can't wait to see pictures.

Scoop got some Black Wow that I haven't tried yet, and is increasing her grille badge collection. Pictures to follow soon. Why is it that I'm just as busy during the summer as the school year?

Happy Birthday Bluebelle and Kermie, Frodo and all our Tagus buddies!

And you notice the one we haven't heard from yet is the one who is suppose to be 'officially retired' (Hi Mini2na )

I think we'd better just get used to the busyness. I would guess it doesn't go away... just changes...

I think you will like the Black Wow. I finally got around to using it and it made a difference. Some of the parts near the bottom are kind of rough. I don't know what I'll be able to do about that... I'm beginning to think BlueBelle is going to be more like the MINI in that motoring book they gave us about this time last year when we were waiting. - She's got some bruises and bumps

Speaking of which... Kimberely, how is your interior holding up?
I have one small spot I'm having trouble getting a stain out of in the back seat. I also have some scuff marks where the CG lock hit the side before we noticed it. Overall I think it looks much better than I feared for such a light color.

OK and one more thing....

In our year+ of posting on here, has anyone found out what 'Woot' actually means and why it is used?

The interior still looks really good, but I am hypersensitive about it also. I always have leather cleaning cloth and a chammie on hand at all times. (It is probably pecular to see someone shining up the inside of a MINI at a stoplight. But I hate fingerprints on the black and chrome. )

Isn't "woot" the sound of the horn?

Happy Birthday babies! The event passed here without fanfare, but that doesn't mean I don't love Frodo MORE now than a year ago.

I am busier now than before. Retired??? I guess I don't know the meaning of the word. I am getting ready for advertisement and an open house for the extended neighborhood to show off my work. Only a yard mowing so far, but no one really knows about my business yet.

I am going through a bit of disequalibrium. This is the first Aug/Sept that I will not be starting school in 51 years. It is a bit strange.

WOOT - from the UnWord Dictionary -
Definition of woot :.

(wüt)
  1. 1. (interj.) Celebratory exclamation used especially in online role-playing games.
Origins: From whoot or hoot, a howl or other such sound. In humans, an expression of gratitude while, in animals, it is a form of communication.
Example: Woot! I gained a level! ( Woot! Woot! This is the greatest car EVER! )
Submitted by: etitameh, Topics: Computers & Internet
  2. 2. (acro.) We Owned Other Team. Alternatively spelled w00t or w007.
Origins: Initially used by gamers to express victory via landslide, now its meaning has been generalized to express accomplishment.

Molly being the younster of the Bunch sends her Birthday Wishes to all.
She has her 1st Mod (if you can call it one)...Molly will be wearing "MS MOLY" License Plates in a few weeks!!
Hubby and I have been hitting the Driving Range, also a group of girls from work have been going out on Friday's for Lunch to Eastmoreland Golf Club and Driving Range all this in preparation for a Co. Golf Tournament at Black Butte Ranch next weekend.
We will be leaving Friday afternoon staying on Black Butte Ranch at a Rented Home and enjoying the Fun of the Golf Tournament as well as the sights of Central Oregon, I've never been to that area of OR so I'm very excited. If anyone has any idea of where to stop for a bite to eat down the I-5 Corridor I would love to hear them. We will be exiting I-5 at MM253 to head East on SR 22, then to SR 20 and into Black Butte.
Molly will be packed to the gills but I think she's excited to go too, this will be her 2nd road trip in 3.5 months, if you count our jaunt following SR 14 to I-84 and back a road trip.

Hope the golfing is going well, and the new contractor in our midst is successful!

I've just been driving Scoop day after day, and having a blast. Sadly, there is a bubble at the top of her pretty chrome scoop, and I think she needs a spa day. Lipo already, or total replacement. Poor baby.

We're heading up to Santa Cruz for a few days. . . just enough time to relax, visit the Monterey Aquarium (I could, and actually HAVE! spend hours just watching the sea otters) Hang out with friends, and visit the corny, yet puzzling, Mystery Spot! Ooohh!

Scoop gets to stay home and worry about her wrinkles. Packing for 4 people just isn't going to work with the princess!

Happy motoring, all!

We are experiencing a scorcher (100 degrees plus for a few day!) Kermit will stay in the shade and I will be in the kiddie pool with the pugs. No AC in the house, so fans are on high.

Kermit got his stubby antenna last week. We went to check out Alta. Bought the most inexpensive item they stock and left. I don't know what sort of performance improvement their products would bestow on the beloved little Kermie, but I am certain that the cops would notice tight away.

Still waiting on the his Shelby Stripes, and sunvisor decals, to arrive.

All in all, he made a good haul for his first birthday. Pics when the stripes are on!

Hey there Tagusites and Vancouverites!
It's been a long time since you've heard from me. I'm not involved with school this year, but I sure am busy. The new business venture is going well at the moment. I have two painting jobs going at once right now. That's quite a feat. Painting is not my favorite job, but it may be what I am best at. I am quite a detail person. (This does not mean Frodo is clean and detailed right now.... quite the opposite.) I laid some slate for the first time last weekend. I worked with the homeowner to finish a beautiful deck. I just hope the jobs keep on coming.

Hope everyone is well and the babies are happy. They will be 1 year old soon, except little Molly.

Gotta run. Paint job #1 is calling.

Congratulations on the busy beginning of your business! (sidenote. . . a group of ferrets is called a "busyness" or "business". You all needed to know that!) Way to go! My FIL cannot believe how much more busy he is now that he is retired from teaching. Same with my mom.

SAD IRONY. . . Yesterday I thought I'd take Scoop on errands, and had to run some stuff to my classroom, including a framed picture of Scoop. Guess what slid out of the boot and chipped the bumper? That's right. The picture of the MINI. Huh. Time to drag out the toothpick and paint. Grrrr.

I'm going to give her her first bath ever this weekend. . . a year of QD polish is starting to cause build up, so I figure a good 3 hours for wash, wax, Black Wow, and paint chip repair will be a good way to end her summer.

Any fun Labor Day plans, anyone?

Scoopmama - Your first wash???? You DON'T live in the NW!

I'll be working 2 of the 3 days of the long weekend. I'm in a different line a work for sure. I hear it will be cool this weekend, but no rain.

Have fun everyone!

Molly is sleeping at the Dr. tonight. She is on her 2nd visit to fix the Cog Symbol. There was also a rattle that came up over the last week or so, dealer says that there are broken pieces (?) in the area between the Sunroofs, sound came from around the light area.

After we got back from Black Butte I gave Molly a bath, but last weekend I spent on cleaning the Durango. Since it doesn't get driven much I thoguht it was time to give it some attention. Molly will get spoiled this weekend.

I need to place a Detailer's Paradise order, maybe even a Griot's Order.

Besides detailing Molly, I'm thinking a round of golf would be nice, but house cleaning has to be priority.

Hope everyone enjoys the long weekend!!

No plans other than relaxing for us on Labor Day - although a round of golf might be nice on Saturday. Hmm.

Aesthetic Creations finally shipped Kermie's stripes so maybe we will get them today or tomorrow. Also, must remind spouse to bring home some BRG paint to fill in some nasty chips on bonnet. The dealership won't let me bring Kermie in yet for his oil change, even though I am well past 15K miles, because my "until service miles" is not under a thousand yet. But soon. While he is in there, they can fix the vibration/rattle under the dash that is driving me buggo.

Went to check out the Clubman yesterday, whilst waiting around to get into the Portland Beaver's game. Spouse wants one so bad. But he still has his truck that he owes lots on and will lose lots on as a trade-in. So all is still up in the air. He already has a name for it: Grover.

I hope Molly is feeling better soon.

We (Molly & I) got a surprise yesterday...
Molly's new License Plate came..."MS MOLY", I've taken pics. of the plate, but will have to wait until she's had her bath before I take more, will post later today.

Anyone get or think about getting the MINI Platinum Visa Card?? Well I did and the configurator is great, though it leaves off some options, like the Sport Stripes, but it's Molly!!

Of course I have a MINI visa card. Gotta rack up points for when hubby gets his Clubman.

The shelby stripes arrived yesterday - but we weren't at home. So...they are resting comfortably at the post office until Tuesday. Aah well. But soon Kermie will be a whole new boy!!

I thought Pinoccio is the "boy" and Kermit is the "Frog"??

I won't be able to post more pics. 'til tomorrow, it rained Cats & Dogs here this evening. So Molly did not get the bath I promised her.

Hubby's been trying to replace the Acrylic Light Panels in the Kitchen, 3 trips to Homey Depot so far!! I had the Kitchen tore apart anyway, needed to clean floors, but he messed it up before I was able to clean it. Ain't that ALWAYS the way it goes!!??

RJ - Speedy is a great word!

Kimerely - Can't wait for pictures of the stripes. That will turn Kermit into a "real boy".

I'm within an hour or so of finishing my first big job. The woman I'm working for is picky and I think I passed the test. I might be in line for painting the rest of the interior. That would be nice, since it is right across the street. The rental job I have going is yucky. The renters were pigs and it has taken over 20 hours just to clean and prep a 850 sq ft duplex unit. I start painting tomorrow. I'll take Labor Day off.

It's COLD this morning! Brrrrrrr. Happy motoring.

I LOVE the new look. Kermit is so dapper. Does he slip through traffic easier now?

I'm not sure if I like the front or the back better. Do they go over the top?

The spouse nixed the idea of going over the top. They were supposed to be Shelby style in the front as well as the back, but we couldn't get them (in front) to lie down flat with the ends straight - so we tucked the ends under the front grill instead. I think that he looks great also, and he does slip thru traffic a bit more nimbly.

Wow - Kermit looks great! Looks more like a royal frog now - all dressed up!!
Very nice

As you might recall - some time back I hinted that we would be headed south after attending the San Francisco MINI event and possibly allowing BlueBelle some time with her rambunctious almost shipmate Scoop.

Well I realized that my involvement with some local nonprofit events and the volume of work I need to do before the next two deadly deadlines (Sept 15th and Oct15) were not going to let me take that much time off. So we decided to make a long weekend of it and just go down for the MINI event and take a side trip to see our daughter-in-law in Sacramento.

Planned to get up this morning at 4:30, pack , and hit the road by 6:15. I heard the hubby up at about 3 and shortly after he informed me that he had woken up to extreme pain from what turned out to be a kidney stone Soo we spent the day at ER getting him some great drugs and spending our vacation cash on deductibles and drugs .

I am thankful that if it had to happen it was before we left !

Anyway - I am keeping him in drugs (sort of a SF 60's kind of thing I guess) and hopefully he will be well enough for us to take a day to the coast or something.

Hope everyone is getting some motoring time in. Mini2na - remember to use the word 'no' and save some of your new "free" time for Frodo and the road!
