All Aboard the TAGUS! (Week 31) Leaving Southhampton 8/9/07
Molly - Happy Half Birthday!
Minicounter -
Sorry to hear about your husband's ailments. He's a good man. Hope all passes well. I hear they have an ultrasonic treatment to "break up" those nasty things if the pain continues. I hope he's back to normal soon.
How are you liking your mods? Do you have plusses and minusses to each?
Scoopmama - How was the beginning of school for you? I'm glad I was working this week or I would have thought about all that I was missing with the kids.
My wife has been driving Frodo. I have needed the truck everyday for my job. Do you think MINI will come out with a pickup?
I finished my first residential paint job as well as finished my first duplex painting. Both customers were satisfied.
Today will be nice. My wife and I will load the kayaks and head to Ridgefield to paddle near the wildlife refuge. I also think some motoring is in the plans.
Have a good weekend everyone!

Good morning!
Molly - Happy 6 month birthday!!! Did you get a present?
Minicounter - I was so sorry to hear about your poor husband. Glad he's on the mend. With the gas money you saved (don't think about the health costs here) you should splurge a bit on the weekend trip you take and stay in a B&B and get pampered! Like you said, you - or at least your hubby - got sort of a San Francisco weekend!
Mini2Na - How ironic that your first two jobs were for the one thing you don't like doing as much-painting! So glad it went well and your customers are happy. Once the rain comes, the jobs may slow down a bit (my brother-in-law always has a bit more time in the winter) and you can get back into Frodo for some fun. Beware though, your new job can take over your life! Minicounter is absolutely right- don't forget how to say "NO" sometimes and enjoy retirement!
School this year should be great. A NICE group of students, smaller classes!!!!
I almost shouldn't say it in case it doesn't happen, a new principal who we all really like so far. The only 2 glitches are a new grade program that interfaces really well with guidance and admin tasks, but can't even seem to make a decent seating chart. We've all dragged out those old orange and white sheets and are doing them by hand again! Our old program was terrific and very user friendly. This one isn't really designed with teachers in mind, and it shows. Takes some getting used to, is all. Also, my awesome science teacher partner was offered a chance to lead a grant for a few years in a different district, and may take it. So we may be in for some upsets a bit later. But overall, I'm really excited!
Scoop got her bath and wax! 3 hours later she was just gleaming, and absolutely gorgeous. I still need to get her wheels waxed, and do the inside detailing. It's amazing how good she looks, especially since she didn't look bad, or dirty. She stays in the garage, and after each drive she gets the California duster and the QD spray. But there was buildup of a sort, I guess!
RJ- I have the MINI card, which is fun to use with the picture of Scoop on it, but you have to get 10K points before you can start to use them, and I don't put much on the card. The interest rates are high if you don't pay it off each month, and the points are all to be spent on MINI related items. So once I reach the 10K I will probably stop using it, and get a card with other benefits instead.
Happy motoring all!

A DP order arrived and tonight Molly got the 1st Half of her Bath. BW'd, Bathed, Hydro'd, and her Floor Mats, and Bootliner washed. Tomorrow will be Banana Gloss, Vacumn, Windows and 303, then she'll be all Nice and Clean!!
Thanks for all your well-wishes. Unfortunately my tough hubby had to go back to ER today. This time they checked him in
. He is in ICU but was doing better when I left tonight. Hopefully he can get some well-needed rest tonight. I'll tell you he is a fighter but 53 years of diabetes really takes its toll
.
RJ - I'll be anxious to hear what you think of the Banana Gloss.
BlueBelle definitely needs some TLC I'm glad to hear all your baby's are getting pampered.
Glad to hear school is going well Scoopmama and your jobs have turned out well Mini2na.
Mini2na So far I really like the exhaust and intake. I notice that when I need to 'get on her' and pass there is not quite as much of a lag for the turbo to kick in. The sound of the intake takes some getting used to but I sometimes find myself varying the speed just to hear her breathe.
Have you put yours on yet?
I have the MINI card as well. I use it for my gas and other personal expenses. Since we now have over 24k on BlueBelle we have racked up quite a few points. When we had the service done we decided we would get an extended warranty. I don't usually go for such things but with all the trouble we had at the beginning.. Anyway I was able to convert the points I had accumulated to a check to the dealership to help pay for this.
This card does allow you to set up an auto-pay. That way you can pay the full amount each month without worrying about missing and paying the outrageous fees! You just have to make sure you have the money in the bank
(I know details....details
)
And probably the best thing about the card is when someone says "Oh do you have one of those cars?

Minicounter - I do hope that hubby is feeling better. No fun.
Such an uneventful weekend, and with such lovely weather. We spent it painting our balcony. Such a joy. It needed done rather dreadfully though. Kermit needs a bath and a wax, but I haven't gotten around to it yet. I don't know how long one needs to wait after applying stripes, but assume I have waited long enough at this point. Soon.

Bath, clay and wax are a must for Frodo. He's way too dirty for sunny weather.
I came to a sad realization yesterday. With my new job, I'll need the truck much of the time. Since the young uns don't drive Frodo, they need our Subaru. That means on most days Frodo goes to school with my wife and I keep the truck.
I'm thinking of setting up a regular "NO" schedule so I can have visitation days with him. IF that doesn't work there are always the weekends.
Minicounter.... my thoughts and prayers remain with your husband. Keep us informed. If you PM me your address I'd appreciate it.

Minicounter...I also have a Diabetic Husband, we've been lucky with no complications, though he does not take care of himself as he should. I can only imagine what you are going through, my heartfetl thoughts and prayers are with you and your Husband.
I have mixed feelings about updating you on Banana Gloss, but since you asked "IT'S AWESOME!!!"
I didn't take pics. and now Molly is dusty, but I can safely say that it is "the bees knees"...Very easy to apply and to take off, leaving a SMOOTH and SHINY surface.
Take good care, if you need anything just Hollar...you've got Family here that will jump at a moments notice.
God Bless

Thank you ... thank you everyone for your prayers and concerns. It really does help to know our many MINI friends are with us.
Well PTL hubby has been moved to a regular room this evening!! He looked a lot better than even this morning. They are still running a bunch of tests so hopefully tomorrow we will hear a course of action from the specialist.
RJ sorry to hear that you and hubby are dealing with the disease as well. It is definitely a cumulative disease and things that are no big deal to us more healthy people are much more complicated for them.
I will say that all the medical people we deal with are simply amazed at the good shape he is in for the number of years he has been dealing with it. The 'bag of potato chips and six pack of beer and ?' days of the 60's are catching up with him now though... We attribute his relatively good health to the prayers my parents made for my future husband.
I'm afraid BlueBelle is the worse for the ware right now... Sunday when we were hurrying to the hospital we had to go through a section of 'chip sealed' road. I don't know if they do that where you are but its awful stuff! By this evening that section is much better but I've been afraid to look at the damages between that and the big juicy bugs we have out on the river...
Anyway soon I hope we can treat her to a nice bath and shine!
Mini2na PM sent. I'm sorry Frodo is moving out of the daily driver category.
I am very cranky if I ever have to drive something else. Do you think a trailer hitch might be in your future? I can see it now " will do many mini jobs" (for money of course)

FRODO got a bath!!!!
Now he is off with my wife to work.
I need to give him a wax. So, if I have it correct.... clay first after a fresh wash, then wax? I can't find clay in the auto stores, so I'll be ordering from DP. I have Hydro, Quick Detailing spray and Black WOW. What wax should I buy and is there anything else I should get while ordering?
Now, all I have to find is the time to Baby Frodo. His birthday is coming up in 3 more days.

I have the banana gloss and used it once although I didn't get to prep Bluebelle as well as I would have liked. I concur with RJKimbell that it was easy to use and looked great.
Well - it's been a frustrating day of just missing the doctor - so I haven't had any real news for a couple days. Hubby is still on the SF drugs so he doesn't really remember what - if anything - has been said. I hope to have more info tomorrow...
It was Frodo's Birthday yesterday. One year. It is hard to believe that it has been that long. He still feels NEW to me and except for a few minor "dings", he looks new too.
I got to drive him yesterday. As a present I removed all the extra stuff that seems to accumulate in the car with daily driving. Bags in the boot, pens and pencils in the glove box, change in the console tray, coupons in the arm rest and water bottles behind the seat. He drives much more confidently now that there isn't a bunch of stuff rattling around inside.
Scoop and Kermit have birthday's coming up soon. Anything planned? Frodo sends his best to his buddies from the birth canal (Panama)

HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY FRODO!!! Frodo sounds lived in...isn't that how it's supposed to be NOT!!
Hubby has always been "reminded" that once you leave Molly you take all your TRASH with you!! I've tried to inbed this in him when he's ridden in my previous vehicles too.
I DON'T LIKE A DIRTY CAR!!
A scorcher here today supposedly...I'd like to go hit some Golf ***** @ Vanco, we have also have some errands to run...BUT...
I can't get Hubby away from the New Addiditon to the house. Friday I saw a Fry's Ad for a Toshiba 52" HDTV for a VERY reasonable price...so I thought he should take a look. He researched the TV and thought it sounded good, he was unsure as to why it was so cheap, wanted to see it in person. So yesterday we travelled down to Willsonville in Molly...ended up driving back down later in the Durango, picked up a 52" Samsung HDTV...High End Model and now I can't tear him away!!

PM me the cost RJ. I'm in the market for a new big screen for the new addition I just finished.
Also, if you get in a jam on your addition I work hourly (pretty cheap for a contractor) and am licensed and bonded.
Note: I've found that you need to utilize ALL your connections when searching for jobs!
Sorry Scoopmama and Minicounter, unless travel costs are included (not to mention licensing) I won't be able to work for you!

Anyone heard from Minicounter...I'm wondering how her Husband is doing??
I have Punch Design Software program that I utilize for my design ideas, just not sure which ones would work. So when $$ starts falling fromt the sky I'll be giving you a call!!

Hi all - another 'fun' 15th is over (corporate final due date) so I'm checking in.
Hubby is still in the hospital.
It is my understanding that they are waiting for the last stone to pass to see if his functions return to normal. The drugs they have him on are making him 'see' all kinds of things - but at least he is not in pain.
I think it's time again for me to 'make some noise' and find out what the plan is...
Again... we thank you for your prayers and concern.
So Mini2na I guess we will have to move back to Wa - or in a couple weeks I'll be teaching my exciting portion of the contractors class for OR licensing! I could get you in...
I am also interested in 'you all's' research on the TV's. (PM and/or I could send you a direct email) I've been thinking about getting one for hubby as he turns 60 this November. For his 50th we got the Bose sound system and he has hinted for this upgrade more than once
Oh and speaking of birthdays...
Happy birthday FRODO!!
I have to confess that I am a reformed (ing) messy car person. Since we tend to 'live' in our cars, I have to work at not accumulating too much stuff...
Well - enjoy the sun while you can.

Wow! I get busy for a few days and miss all the action and good wishes! Baby has 4,017 miles on her!
This year has gone by quickly with our wonderful babies. I hope your hubby is out soon, Minicounter. That is such a worry.
Did Frodo get his bath, clay and wax Mini2Na? I couldn't believe how long it took to just wash and wax, but when the magnifying glass and chip repair kit comes out, time just drifts by!
I had a really interesting night last night. Got asked to give market research for MINI BMW, and got to see all kinds of drawings and full-scale concepts for MINI within the next few years. Can't say anything really, except I was really taken with a few very surprising, yet "MINI-ESQUE" models! AND I got paid nicely for a rather grueling 2 hours with 3 different interviewers and over 150 questions! Fun! I can't wait to see what happens over the next few years as the MINI family expands!

Scoopmama...you need to get out more. Molly has almost 6300 on her!!
Sending PM Minicounter. Be sure and give your Husband our Well Wishes!! It can't be much fun being couped up in a Hospital. He certainly deserves a Nice B-Day Present after all he's been through.

What do you have in your "chip repair" kit? How do you fill chips?
I hope school started well for you. I miss most of it....
We have a cooler weekend with rain coming in on Sunday. Today should be a nice day for motoring.
I need to schedule a 1 yr oil change for Frodo. He needs it!
