Happy to help...tracking is not as easy as the MA's make it sound.

Now Tagus is on the move again, heading back in past the breakwaters, this is a bit unusual.

 

I just looked at AISLive -- Tagus is moving south again and is back inside the breakwater. That seems like a good sign, although I hate to get my hopes up.

It also looks like traffic through the Gatun locks is generally heading to the Pacific, as all the little green arrows are pointing south (http://aisfree.aislive.com/Influx.as...=Gatun%20Locks). This seems like a very good sign.

 

Uh Oh... good thing I didn't REALLY go to bed... PSYCHE!

 

I also noticed the Tagus is now GREEN instead of yellow. I think that means it has the GREEN light to go through the canal! This is WAY too exciting!!!!

(i don't know if that's what it really means but hey, sounds right to me...)

 

Guess so, not sure yet, perhaps she is going thru tonight, south bound traffic at Gatun locks now,I think.

 

I KNOW WHAT HAPPENED! Our Mini's got tired of the waiting and the delays and they commited a MUTINY! Our Mini's are in charge of the boat now!! YEAH!!! GO MINI'S GO!!

 

Except Tagus just made a turn, may just me moving to the inside anchorage.

 

On the AIS map green is underway, yellow is anchored/docked. Right now looks like she is amongst the other ships that are anchored, so now you have to wait and see how long before she heads for the locks.

 

Finally home and online. Exciting stuff, but I used the above link and don't see Tagus. What am I doing wrong?

 

Nothing...looks like the Tagus has stopped again, at least for the time being. It's still on the Cristobal Map: http://aisfree.aislive.com/Influx.as...l%20Anchorages

 

Click at the top of the map and it will refresh, you are south and looking at Gatun Locks, Tagus just anchored inside the break waters.

 

Check Cristobal Anchorage, just north of the Gatun locks. Tagus is in green right now. Click inside the red box, then scroll down. On the lower left should be a list of ships in alphabetical order. Find Tagus and click on it. It should put a red circle around our ship.

 

Ah, you're right. It's yellow again. Must be stopping for the night. We'll have plenty of time tomorrow to watch since it takes about 9 hours to get through to the Pacific... Goodnight... Again...

Have you noticed that when you click on the name of a moving (or recently moving ship) the circle doesn't always line up with where the map says the ship is?

For instance if you're online right now, check out where the Crisotobal map says the Bahama Spirit is supposed to be.

I wonder if they have a bug in their site and the "current position" indicator is pulling position coordinates from the realtime data instread of the time-delay data...

 

Yes, I did notice it earlier with the Tagus. The red circle was where the Tagus is now but the Tagus itself was still a little north. The circle seems to be more real-time. maybe...

 

Ya the software is like that, the red circle seems to update faster than the ship markers.

 

Did you all realize that the Tagus is a cargo ship? Get it? CAR GO!

 

1:18am Report: Tagus is still anchored.

 

Wake up all, Tagus is heading for Gatun locks.

 

Man, am I glad I checked this thread before going to bed! I managed to snap a couple of pics from the live webcams...they are attached...
