I'm guessing if you aren't in the NorthEast, MidWest etc you are probably going to Charleston on the Freedom which is later in the week.

There is one other possibility: the Charleston-bound MINIs may have already shipped out on a K-Line or NYKLine ship. If you don't make the FAUST today or the FREEDOM on Thursday, you should call your MA on Friday and ask them to do the research. Although they might not have immediate access to this info, it is my understanding that they can contact someone in MINI corporate that can track it down for you.

I got my status via the WW website. If you are on the Freedom, and you may be, then you won't probably change status until the boat arrives on the 26th.

 

I wish. My MA didn't know about WW or any tracking of ships. Also didn't know that he could find ship information from Mini until I sent him a quote from this forum. I guess all MA's are not cut from the same cloth. Or maybe previous buyers just never asked him about such things.

 

The MA's have access to software that shows them where all thier cars are from order to production to delivery (at least mine did because he showed it to me yesterday while I was in for service on the the R50). That will have shipping info once the system is updated with bill of loading etc.

 

So if the car was on a ship other than WW (ex: K-Line) he should know once the system has the bill of loading? I just get this feeling that I'm going to be in the dark until he calls one day and says "hey, it's here".

The Faust Arrives in NY on the 30th of August. Then how long does the VDC take?

 

Just somethin to think about eastcoasters. Even if your ship sails after those of us who got on the Boheme chances are you'll be out of the VDC before we're through the Panama Canal.

 

VDC can take awhile if you are having things installed, otherwise it's 4-5 days normally.
Luckily for me Morristown MINI is close to the VDC so I don't have to wait too long for the truck once it's cleared to leave the VDC.

 

Yeah, mine will go from the VDC to near Buffalo, NY to Towne Mini for me.

 

I'm happy to see my rig's on the Faust as well... great name for a ship btw.

 

866-ask-mini now states that my mini is "in transit"

... but its not coming up on the WW site by VIN so I wonder if this means I'm on the KLine...? Either way, its good to see some progress!!

That's great! Sounds like you probably are on a ship.

Your MA might be able to tell you which one. If you find out, let us know. Other East Coasters might be "in the same boat", literally.

ugh... Labor Day Weekend...

The Faust is due in NY on 8/30, with 4-5 working days in VDC, that means up to and including 9/7? And another x number of days transport, and another day or two (or three?) at the dealer.

Dealer is in CT.

I always assumed it'd be 9/15 when I got my MINI. But when I look at the calendar say "three plus weeks until..." I feel like it might as well be a month away.

Anyone else?

 

Off load probably takes a day max so the cars will be on the dock by the 31st I's suspect. As for the holiday issue, does the VDC actually close for holidays? Sometimes companies work thru and so labour day might be a normal day at the VDC.

FWIW, even this morning, according to ASKMINI my MINI hasn't gotten onto a ship yet, but I KNOW it's on the Faust per the VIN and AutoCargo tracking on WW Site.

The sailwx site doesn't show Faust, but it DOES show Boheme which left a day earlier. Granted, it's headed for a southern route, but it's still something to look at and try to imagine where Faust is.

Well, finished 8/17, on sched. Status is still awaiting transport in the lounge, at dock waiting to be placed on a ship according to askmini. WW has no info on the VIN. Here's to waiting on the freedom!
