2. Have the Mini dealer write up the purchase agreement, you want "5 days same as cash". That means you have 5 business days to get the check to them.
3. Your CU person can overnite the check directly to them on the day you fund.

Simple!!

Great info. Based on this, I'm sure I'll be able to take my baby home Saturday.

Thanks! I'll let you now how it goes.

I got my Mini dealer to prepare the contract, fax it to me and I then faxed it to my CU yesterday. Credit union faxed me my application to sign. We signed it last night, faxed it this morning. CU overnighted the check today to the dealer. We're picking up the car on Saturday.

[SIZE=2]MINI delivery day was last Wednesday.
Was happy for the most part, but....
some things were alittle off though... I didn't see my car, and the MA said, it's right here, [the one under the carcover inside the showroom].

1/2 way thru the unveiling I thought, I know I mentioned checkered mirrors but I didn't think I ORDERED them. When we both saw the yellow colorline interior we both said "that's not my/your car!" and left the cover 1/2 rolled up the car. MA took off looking for my car and I was left there when another MA came over with two customers to say "And here's your car" only to find the cover already lifted 1/2 way up, ruining THEIR dramatic unveiling, too.

I walked around the showroom bored, found a small karaoke machine set-up, turned it on and started belting out a few tunes (Frank Sinatra, Nancy Sinatra, and Madonna etc) and said into the MIC, I'm going to keep singing until my car appears.

1/2 way into "Like a Prayer" MA appeared again, he found the car, but not the key. I finished Like a Prayer. Then he found A key but not BOTH keys.

I got out to the car as the sun was going down and could just about see some residual wax (not good) and we went over the car. The tire pressure indicator was going off, so MA showed me how to reset it (instead of getting out of the car and actually manually checking the pressure of the tires)
All else was fine.
the freebies were, two rubber floor mats and a key chain.
Oh, and a request to please give the MA all 5s on the survey.

PS, the tire indicator continued to show low pressure, so I reset it, and the next day too, so I checked the tires and front right was seriously low, filled it up with air. Next day, serious family stuff to deal with, next day same thing, repeat. After the family emergency is taken care of I go back to the dealer. Service guy says they found "a nail or a bolt" in it and were ready to charge me for it, and I said, "uh, NO that's how I got the car." They backed off of that but did NOT have the tire in stock?!

Still waiting for the tire. "Maybe Monday," they said.
In the meantime, I need to constantly check it. NOT drive more than 50mph and try to keep my trips short.
and oh yea, that second key, well, I'm still waiting for it...

Man, that's awful. I would tell that MA "well, if you really want those 5s, you're gonna have at least try to make up for ruining a very unique & special experience, and a couple of rubber mats & a key chain doesn't come close."

OK, so my MCS comes in today 9/18. It was originally scheduled in on 9/15, but no problems. My MA calls and says, it will be ready Thursday. One problem, I leave Thursday for Ohio and the Ohio State v. Northwestern game this weekend. My choices are to pick it up Thursday morning and go immediately to the airport for my flight, leaving it in the long term parking lot until Sunday night, or pick it up on 9/25 (a week from now because my wife is gone on Monday and I can't get to the dealership on Monday). Any guesses on which option I opted for?

I finally picked up my MINI earlier this week. Here are some preliminary pics - shooting in morning light and in the shade really muted the colors. I'm getting stripes and tinting installed on Monday, so I'll have fresh pics on Tuesday.

How about that RC Car antenna? And that wheel gap! What's the lift on that thing? You could use those 16" tires as rims to mount a set of 18" tires in there without any rubbing!
