Ordered today for production week 32. Sucks that we hit the vacation time, lose a month's time of motoring.

Here are my specs:
LB/B MCS, leatherette, anthracite liner, LSD, Xenon, MFSW, rear fog, 6 speed.

I need to decide on either piano black or English Oak trim, my MA was saying that the wood would clash with my exterior choice, but I don't see how. She recommended the piano black, my original choice, but steered away becaues of complaints about scratches. I"m really neurotic about scratches.

Any opinions? Also what delivery date is everybody getting? Please mention your area as well.

 

Yeah if it's the black interior I wouldn't go with the English Oak. The Piano Black would look nice, but I have also read that it scratches easily. Have you seen the normal trim? I stuck with that, it doesn't look bad and I plan on doing the Carbon Fiber trim later on down the road. I have also heard that the Aluminum is nice! Anyway good luck, and your MCS sounds sweet!! Congrats!

I am located in Salt Lake City UT. I don't have an estimated delivery date, but I hope I get it by Christmas!!

 

I saw a few pictures of the English Oak and it looked pretty nice, even with black interior. my MA seemed to be refering to my exterior color, anyways, as of now I'm sticking with the English Oak.

Christmas?! My MA says latest is mid-September. I was even hoping to get it earlier. I'm located in Illinois.


Also, I noticed you got the cloth seats, any particular reasons? I checked out the leatherette in person and I was VERY impressed. It was 5x better than the one in my 05

 

The Christmas thing was a joke, cause I feel like it is never gonna get here. As for the Oak, if you like it that is all that matters. I have never been a big wood dash fan so I guess I am kind of biased.

As for the cloth seats, I personally like cloth if I can't have the real leather. And even at that, I don't like how over time leatherette, and leather start to have creases and cracks. I had leather in one of my previous cars and took care of it (cleaned and conditioned regularly) and still got creases.

 

Yah I definiteily know your concerns with leatherette. The leatherette in my 05 still looks brand new, but it only has 27,000 miles on it so who knows how it will look after another 50,000 or so.

I do like the wood but will try and see it in person, most likely I will keep it. I"m also on the fence on the wheels, can't spend any money on them so deciding between the two stock wheels. The dealer I went to did not have any cars with teh S-Winders.

Mataku- I like the English oak myself. I was told by my MA that it was plastic so I didn't order it then I did some research and found out it was real wood. I was a little bummed that I was after my order close date and couldn't order it. I chose the stock s checkers and I think I will be happy with it. Maybe later my hubby can add it. I also chose the leatherette.....looks sweet to me

 

hm.. the fact that it was your MA's fault seems to me that the dealer should switch it out for you. The stock S checkers looked alright, I didn't mind it on the dash, but I wasn't the biggst fan on the door trim, also I'm going for a black interior with the anthracite and all. Did you get a production number? Estimated delivery date?

Yes - we might well run into each other! I've done all of my *work* with them over the phone, so can't wait to actually get to the dealership. I know, I know...it is a long time off, but hopefully it will go quickly.

And, yeah, I probably have TOO many bells and whistles, but I suck at decisions...it took me a good 10 weeks to come up with this and once I decided, I didn't want to go back!

Anyone concerned about ordering their MINI on Friday the 13th? I wasn't even paying attention really to the fact that it was the 13th until after I had signed the paperwork. Hope it's not a bad omen but I'd rather order it on the 13th than the 14th. One extra day waiting might have been than I could stand!

 

Friday the 13th's (bad omen) has nothing on the happiness and joy that a Mini brings to you so no I don't think it's a bad thing!

 

Holls on your TOO many options comment, is that really possible? I would have TOO many options if I could afford too, so once again nice setup!!
