Anyone know how to track a K-Line ship?

 

I just found yesterday from my MA that I'm on the Frisia too! I guess I can stop plugging my VIN into the WW site. So much for the Mini tracking that says my car is Awaiting Transport.

FRISIA 146 is ETA Charleston is 8/29.

 

For all of us on the Toronto. It made port in NY this morning. If you check WW's website using you VIN number you can see when your car was discharged from the ship.

MY DS/B MCSa was off loaded at 8:00 AM and is now about 100 miles from its final destination. Can't get here soon enough!

I called my ma and asked if we for sure hit land yesterday and he said yes but it sounded more like he just assumed rather than actually read it off the screen. Any details that you guys may have found out about K-lines EMDEN ship?

I was planning to call today anyway to have them offer financing against our credit union's rate, so I will be sure to ask.

Anyone else thinking about asking them NOT to detail their car to avoid swirl marks?

 

That happens when the dealer details? I will def. ask them not to if it is common for them to make swirls.

Got off the phone with my MA.

The ship did indeed dock & unload on schedule, and my car is appparently either on its way down here or soon to be.

My car is expected around the early/mid part of next week, with 1-2 days of dealer prep. Asked him not to wax it/seal it but said washing was OK, he seemed cool with it.

I am considering naming my car Roscoe.

RE: The above question about swirls: I am not sure if the dealership would cause paint swirls, but they are really easy to get if someone uses a buffer improperly. I had a blue VW a ways back that had paint swirls, and it really chapped my behind every time I waxed it.

I will be using only nice, soft microfiber, klasse AIO and P21s wax on my vehicle.

Whew what a rambly post. I am excited my car is closer to getting here!

The Owner's Lounge confirms that my car is at the VDC. It also now indicates an expected delivery date of 08/30/2007. If this is accurate I could be driving my Mini by the weekend.

 

So I found a suprise in my car..... A USB port. Crazy right? I though that it was not going to be out till 08'. It is next to the AUX jack. I have a memory stick hooked up right now. It is sweet. I have averaged 35.8 Mpg which is mostly city rides. I am sitting at 580 km on the tank with an estimated 245km to go. I am looking to get 500 Miles on the tank. Sweet

 

That's cool as hell! So did you have to order a US Spec MINI given that you're US military? I also have ordered a late 07 MCS and would be very excited if it had a USB port on it. :-)

 

Mine is US spec. The law is that you cant ship a euro spec car back unless it is 25 years or older or if you find a dealer to make the vehicle US spec and that could cost into the mid thousands...

That's super cool about the USB port Eurokoke. Congrats! I take it that you got it as part of the Convenience package as it's supposed to be part of the Bluetooth kit I believe (i.e. it's proobably being controlled by the Bluetooth module). I really hope my week 34 production car gets one.

BTW, do you have the MFSW with cruise control? If so, did you get the new cruise control speed display (on the on-board computer) as that's a new 08 feature as well I believe? Also, what about the auto up driver side window (another new feature for the 08 cars). Did you get that too?

 

It seems we have less than a week to wait. Time to pull out the map and find some twisty roads to go exploring.

Very true. I feel that this is going to be the hardest part. I already am planning to go to a MINI meet in Fredericksburg, TX (outside of Austin and they have great twisties) for the weekend and it starts Aug. 31st. Although its only 210 miles away from home. I hope that everything gets finished in time for me to go.

Please do let us know if your car shows up with the USB port in it as well (and note that you must have ordered the Bluetooth Prep or Convenience Package in order to get the USB port).

 

And I did order Bluetooth for my week 32 production car. I'll let everyone know if I did indeed get the USB functionality as well as any other new improvements.

 

Well I got a nice suprise today. I went to my MA to shop for a rate for the car loan. When we sat down in his office he told me to hold on a sec and when he came back he said that my MINI had just arrived and they are taking it off the truck as we speak. . It came two days early. My car will be ready for pickup tomorrow. Woot!

I just have to decided if I want GAP insurance....

 

Mine apparently might be ready by Wednesday.

Gap insurance: I am putting down about $10k, and there won't be a gap. I actually totalled a car that was relatively new, but had put down enough where it actually didn't hurt me.
