R56 rotors

I am trying to do a brake upgrade on my R53, I recently purchased some R56 calipers without rotors. I'm trying to find some Brembo cross drilled or slotted rotors, but I don't know if they will fit for the R56 calipers. If I get rotors made for the R56, would I need different lug nuts?

The R56 rotors will most likely have M14 holes and you have M12 bolts so that an easy fit. So long as you have the R56 calipers and you are looking for the correct, stock size, R56 (294mm I believe) rotor you should have no problems.

You're basically putting on the former JCW big brakes option for the R53.

Unless I'm reading this all wrong I don't see an issue.

I want to find some rotors that will fit with the calipers. All the rotors that I've seen are for the R53 and they exclude the JCW brakes. I'm trying to find a set of brembo rotors that work with the R56 calipers.

Maybe my post was not clear or omitted something. Let me see if I can try to make it simpler.

The stock R56 brakes today are what was the R53 JCW stuff of old.

ie, if you have the R56 stock calipers now you need only to find the stock rotors for any R56 today and you have what was once an 'add-on' to the order of your car called the JCW brakes. Despite having the larger holes for lugs they will fit up just fine and work with the M12 bolts.

As for branding, I doubt you'll find any Brembos. Most will be either oe factory parts or the general aftermaket offerings which are all going Asian imports. The only place I believe you'll score European parts (BMW supplied) will be the Dealer or someone who has removed them for the fit of a new BBK and has no use for them any longer.

Can I use stock r53 size rotors with the r56 calipers? Or must I use r56 size rotors. I am thinking about getting the drilled slotted rotors on outmotoring.
But don't know what to get for the rears to match. Anyone have any ideas which works?

Must use r56 rotors, stock r53 are too small. ..bad things will happen if you go this route.

The minimum diameter is 292mm that will work with the R56 caliper. The R53 276mm smaller diameter will not utilize all the brake pad's area.
