Suspension NM Engineering torque arm insert install/engine bushings
I only lifted my car about 19 inches off the ground and had a hard time breaking and re torquing those bolts. Im sure NM just asked BMW/MINI how much torque they used and just copied that. Im sure your local Home Depot/ Lowes will rent you one if you are really concerned with it. OR you could buy one and return it after using =p. Just don't scratch it up. I bought one from Home Depot just cause I needed one. Was like $80
I installed the Powerflex version (softer than the NM, according to WMW), to go in my 08 MCSa. I had a significant vibration at idle and pulled them back out. I will install them in the spring again and go through a break-in period. I also just noticed Way's not about overtightening.
My car also has an AP and a slight surge at idle, that made the vibration worse. For the 15 minutes, it made a huge difference in torque steer.

For people that installed this part on a post-2011 MCS, what benefits did you find other than decreased torque steer (which I don't find any of in my 2012 MCS). I am mostly interested in this part to make the car shift smoother, and I am worried about just trading rough shifts for a rough idle.
Way sold me on this when I was ordering a set of NM springs and an Hsport rear bar the other day. Installing it this weekend along with the other goodies! With all the positive comments I'm really looking forward to the difference!
I was just wondering if anyone looked underneath after some time of having there's installed, it's been around a year now and I was installing my oil temp sensor in the oil pan last night and noticed that it looked as if it was coming out?

well is this right or not?
it looks like there is not enough backing letting the plastic protrude like that

Hmmm.. Mines in the shop this week due to A/C Drain leaking, leaving lakes in my rear floorboards but I will check mine when I get it back this weekend! I installed mine around Christmas time. Also my bushings are the triangular shaped ones. It might make a difference, I don't know.

Mine are on the way
Got the shipping notification yesterday. My DDM Intake is also due Thursday, So hopefully I will have both mods in over the weekend. Can't wait!!!
Quick question for those have have done the install - I have a floor Jack, stands and ramps. I've never jacked the car up - what is the recommend method - a 4X4 cut to fit between the jack points with the floor jack under it? Any preference - Stands vs. Ramps? Sorry for the questions - but I am not a normally wrench turner and this is my first "structural" mod.
Thanks in advance!

I did this all in my garage at home. The torque wrench I have is somewhat short too.

Also, break both nuts then take the bolts out. if you take one out then try and break the other the engine will rock back and forth when you try and torque it and you won't get anywhere lol. Figured that out the hard way. I also had to somewhat force/move a header or something on the engine to get my torque arm to swing out and get the bolt out. It is on a squishy gasket thing-a-ma-bob so it moved. I can't remember exactly what the interferance was now but the overall install is easy.

My Car is stock height and was too low for the ramps I have. I jacked up the passenger side with the stock car jack (closest to torque arm) and then put two jack stands on front and rear passenger side and lowered the jack a bit so all 3 stands had weight just to be safe. Then I crawled under the front of the car and worked under that with a light, torque and socket wrench. You really have to beat on the darn thing to get the nut to break. would be easiest to have it up on a lift and have a long socket wrench to break the nut loose. I only had my car lifted maybe 20 inches and i didn't have much room down there and I might have had to reach a bit but I got the job done. I am also 21 years old and limber. I forget some mini owners are more "experienced" in life so my method might not work for some.
