SoCal MINI Spottings - Point Check Here!
So i'm driving down Euclid to the 10th frw and at the stop light I see a MC/JB, the driver had her windows down so I pull over and wave, she kept looking at my car and gave me a cute smile. So whoever you are(if you read this)nice car and nice smile! I love driving a mini!
Today 9:30am, driving up north on the 5 in South OC, I spotted a camouflaged R56 MCS, both its front end and back end were covered. He was darting in and out of the heavy traffic, so it was hard to keep up. At one point all DS MINI with dealer plates, my MINI, and this mystery R56 were all driving together for about mile, before we went our separate ways.

Had to take my car back to the dealer for installing the wrong tire this morning. Got beind a red cabrio turning onto 190th while on Sepulveda, pretty much stayed behind her all the way into South Bay Mini, she pulled in right in front of me too. She was taking it in for service.
yesterday in Anaheim at the intersection of Imperial and Yorba Linda saw a S/B MCS (probably a Works looking at the wheels) got a wave from the cute driver.
Saw a wounded PW/B Cooper this morning on the 405 N at Cherry. She had a runflat on her right front and had the emergency flashers on. When I pulled up next to her she made an OK indication. I followed her a bit until she exited the freeway where it would have lead her to Long Beach MINI.
I hope she got her tire fixed.

I thought to myself, "um, okay". I gave her a thumbs up and drove away.
I understand that we in SoCal/L.A. are basically taught to be afraid of strangers, but c'mon...

I came upon a green Cooper this morning on the 605 South near the 605/91-he had a Kayak on his roof. He was pretty intent on motoring in his own world and ignored me despite getting behind him and beside him for several moments.
Chili Red/B MC at Discovery Science Center in Santa Ana today. It had a Mickey Mouse head antenna topper and heavily tinted windows.
Very clean Cooper.
On the way there I saw another Chili Red. This one had a white roof with some graphics on the windows. Couldn't tell what graphics said nor if it was an S or not since it was northbound on Santa Ana Freeway through Buena Park construction and I was southbound. (Both of us were in respective fast lanes.)

That would be me! It was a pleasure, winnie doesn't have many friends to play with and I would have stayed longer but I had to meet up with some friends. Thanks for waking me up too! I was falling asleep til you zipped by.
It's so cool when peeps connect in this thread. I wave at many. About, meh, 75% wave back.

Aww yes, after our little fun, I started getting a little bit of the "sleepies" too!
I wasn't sure if you were going to play or not, but "thought" I detected a hand out the window a few times, so I rolled down my tinted window to make sure you saw me--before doing my flashers as you exited--and once again saw the hand out the window.
Of course the first time I realized you were on my tail, I thought I may have pissed you off when I passed you the first time so I played it easy to make sure this was all in fun.
Good seeing you! First time I've met a "fun" MINI on my long drive home every day in 4 months!

Spotted this afternoon - parked along the 101 near South Carlsbad beach - a new CR/W with a roof rack..
I think the tag was "COOPN".
A bit later in Del Mar - all yellow going south on the 101.
Tonight in Oceanside - parked on the 101 - Hyper Blue/White.

The only waves I get these days are from Big Rigs cause when I see them trying to merge, I clear the way to let them in, before zipping up to pass them. Just a courtesy from one of the smallest cars on the road to the big guys that could use some kindness.
I'm never mad. Its not to often that I come across a fun mini. Its mostly the other makes. Usually the mini's I come across are older people that don't wanna have fun. The last time was on the 5 with a fixed up mini with euro plates. And the big rigs usually honk at me for cutting them off. Oops

Friday afternoon in Virginia Beach on Salem Road.
Two Minis, one behind the other. First was a blue Mini with flower bonnet stripes followed by a gray Mini I believe.
Sorry, I was trying to get the hubby to check out the flower stripes, as I want them on mine when it comes in.
Blue Mini had a lady driver and the other a man.
I didn't get noticed in the white F150 truck pointing away like a crazy woman to get the hubby to view the flower situation.

Driving up and down Sepulveda around 3 I think. Saw one that didn't wave, then I was leaving Taco Bell and making a U-turn to go North and saw a Blue MC and gave a wave, got a wave back. Plates were MINI GLF or something like that, deffinately about golfing. Pulled onto El Segundo Blvd and he waved good bye. My girlfriend got into the waving at that point. It got her excited that the enthusiasts will wave back.
What's going on with Claremont MINI owners??
I live in Claremont, and there are quite a few MINI's here. The first night I drove my new car home, I passed a MINI owner at an intersection and she just about fell out of the driver side window waving at me.
I was excited to be so warmly welcomed to the club! However, since then, I have passed (and waved, flashed brights, etc. at) numerous fellow MINI owners...but no love
I don't know what the deal is! Someone needs to get the Claremont folks into the spirit of things!
So if you are in Claremont and see me cruising down the road, say HI!!

I live in Claremont and drive a Chili Red MCC so it might have been me waving. I try to wave when ever I see a fellow Mini owner.
