Pepper White / Black MC in the Los Cerritos Shopping Center parking lot last night. (I left an SCMM card.)

 

Spotted a CR/W with W bonnet stripes this morning going west on Ave. L in Lancaster. Even though it was dark, I saw the wave! As I was basking in the warm glow of motoring satisfaction that one gets in the wake of a returned wave, I looked up and saw a pair of rapidly approaching headlamps in my lane. I was forced to use the gravel shoulder to bail out. Close call.

 

Spotted a Black w/ Silver top MCS headed north on I-15 around 4:45 today.

I came side-by-side and gave a wave- I got a finger point, a "hey", a smile, *and* an enthusiastic wave!

Made my day!
(makes me forget the 2-3 "ignores" a week i've been getting lately!)

Jerome got to play a little last night with a DS/MCS on the 405N around 11:30-ish coming from Huntington Beach. Man, those driving lights are bight. It's fun to run with a Mini-driver that actually can have a little fun versus being stuck in their little bubble.

 

Saw a Cutie in a CW/B, I have no idea if it was an S or not because I was distracted by the driver. Got a friendly wave and a smile. Madera and E. Los Angeles in Simi.

Then I just got a blank stare on the 101N in a Black/MCS.

I had a "beyond waving" experience today: an actual conversation!

I was leaving the work parking structure when I noticed MINI headlights behind me. It was later and the garage was not crowded so I pulled off to the side and stopped. The CR/W MCS w/ 17" anthracite R90s pulled up along side me and we chatted for a bit. I followed her to the 405 where she went North and I went South.

She had a unique lisence plate: CNAMINI, think she lurks around here?

Three in a row!!! Tonight on the 405 South at around 6:30pm between Culver and the South Bay ran across the following:

Had some bright French style yellow light in my rear view (very Cool looking) , later when he came up beside me, I saw it was an EB/W Cooper, plates CA YF 1A got a wave. Three cars behind him was a HOT DISH in a CR/W MCS and no wave. Shortly there after came across a DS MCS with plates CA MAXMINI, he appeared content with motoring.

Saw a HB white top on going under the 55 on Chapman while I was getting off the freeway at about 3 pm today.

 

Saw Xbook on Sunset Blvd Yesterday afternoon, waving like a NUT!

Yesterday there was an IB/W MCS (w. white bonnet stripes) behind me on Katella in Cypress. Driver turned right on Valley View as I headed over to the Bev Mo.

This morning, I saw my first GP (besides the billions I saw at MTTS)! The plate was FUN2DMX (??).

And then right after that, I saw my first 2007 MINI on Wilshire at around 7:30AM. Though it was quite far away, I could definitely tell it was a Mellow Yellow.

Eeep. If only I had been in my MINI it would have been that much better!

 

I believe that was me! What are the odds?!?!

 

Anyone sees an Orange MCSC with a fresh dent in the back bumper, driver side, feel free to ridicule me. I zip around Culver City, West LA, Downtown LA, Eagle Rock nearly on the daily basis.

Jerome looks like he took out an entire cloud of bugs. Driving back from NorCal on the 5 is heck on the windows and the front end.

I am having that exact same issue - not driven my MCS in over a week and all I see all the time are herds of MINI's.

Spotted a RED/White one on the 5 this morning - 8AM ish, not point in waving I was in my MR2.....

 

Spotted yesteday a Cool Blue Convertible S transitioning onto the 90 West Marina Freeway from the 405. Had Quebec rear plate--no front plate. 3 occupants inside. I pulled alongside to say hello, but they were completely oblivious--so I took off--they seemed to be driving reallllllllly slow. Maybe they thought that Canada looked a bit different from the last time??? LOL


Also spotted a Jet Black tinted MCS this morning on my way to the shop. Looked like my twin. I couldn't see the driver---I was also caring a big load--27" inch flat screen tv and an office chair--so I couldn't see out the back. Not sure if they waved or anything---but as soon as I got a chance to pull alongside, I didn't see any acknowledgment...so I pulled away.

I'm seeing a ton of MINI's, mostly Coopers and lots of 2002-2004 models--never get a wave from them. I pass by atleast 5 MINIs--heading in both ways each morning---no waves from them either. A couple seem to go to Otis design school, cause my kids preschool is across the street. We waited at the left turning light, opposing each other. I waved through the front windshield---no response--what's the point, huh?

 

I saw a very clean silver/blk with modified exhaust and altezza lights at the Vista Courthouse yesterday... Someone with a Mini with all those mods must frequent this site..

My guess is an attorney...

 

I must be seeing folks who don't frequent this board , since this week has apprently been MINI mania on the 405N around 8am through the south bay curve --

Wed, saw a JB/B MCS, with a blonde who I've seen before, but she never ever waves , also saw a DS/W with universal MINI plates, turning on Aviation, saw a cr/w on the 405, but never got close enough to wave.

Thurs was Dark Silver day, apparently Passed a DS/DS MCS on my left, two lanes over and ZOOM, another DS/B MCS comes flying up on my right, but he couldn't get close enough to get eye contact -- I waved, hoping he could see me. I lost him for a while and ZIP, here he comes again and he's trying to make eye contact and I'm hoping he's not gonna crash since he's turned completely around in the seat as he passes -- I waved and hoped he saw. I never caught up with him again, but it was definately fun trying to!

 

Finally got a wave today. Had to travel outside of my area to get it! I was in Burbank today and a yelllow Cooper with lots of checkers was waving frantically at me. I waved back--hope he saw.
