saw on 07 cr mc in west hills, very nice!

 

Yesterday I saw a nice couple in a Red/Silver MCS (plate: "MCE ESQ") on the 10westbound. I let them catch up to me so I could bother- i mean wave to them. Since I said "nice", you know they waved back! *smile*

 

If so, that was 'Rita. I picked her up at South Bay Mini at 5:00 and was on my way to Balboa and the 118 Frwy.

Got some acknowledgment from a JB/MCS on Sepulveda and El Segundo Blvd. Had what looked to be Palo Uber split exhaust, black wheels and painted arches. Made a right turn onto Grand Ave. Killer exhaust note and an awesome looking MCS!

Every time I get waved at i'm not paying attention! My friends always tell me "Hey that guy just waved!" I'm like Doh! Then I proceed to explain how "It's a Mini thing..."

 

Hello to the Pink Cooper with offset Blue (?!?!) stripes!! We were in the vicinity of the Beverly Center at around 5 PM today! I waved to you and you gave me a genuinely confused look. If anything, I think I should have been giving the confused look to you. Cheers!

 

It's fun explaining to a friend and lately the girl I have been seeing 'It's a MINI thing'.

Except she laughs harder when the people don't wave, but gives a confused look.

 

haha seems like a huge increase in mini owners lately...haha i have two parked right outside my apartment right now...both balck with balck top MC...i parked outside just so the kids can get to know each other...i'm near the beverly hills area if any of u have seen me...royal gray with balck top MCS

 

So around 7pm tonight, I was walking out of Rascal's on Western and Redondo Beach Blvd in Gardena and my twin, aka this DS/B with smoked headlights (don't recall about the tailights) and license plate holder and black bonnet stripes ( I think! and I don't have bonnet stripes, but a DS/B) rolls around the corner. I am grinning happily, but don't catch the two girls' eye-- I'm not in my MINI at this point, so I quickly hop in and notice they are stopped at a light. So I take a chance and catch up with them, zoom past and wave. I actually live in the opposite direction, but I just had a feeling...lo! the driver -- a blonde with glasses --- speeds up, rolls down her window, I roll down mine and she yells "Hey, I like your MINI!!" And I yell back that I liked hers too! and then we noticed we had the same interior! It was awesome. I followed for a bit, then honked goodbye and zipped off home with a big ol cheesy grin on my face :] Very nice end to a very long and not so great day They had a license plate with something like BTII...something else, but I can't really recall. If ya'll frequent NAM, well then hallo!!!! I was the really dirty DS/B with the strange whine to the engine

 

I had a nice chat with a gent in a 73 black MINI with white top on PCH in Corona Del Mar this morning. It's very convenient when the classic is in the fast lane and the more contemporary Mini is in the slow lane....

Got a great wave return from a blond lady a little further south on PCH....

 

Kind of in a quandary regarding a semi MINI sighting; my 5 year old was almost rolling in her seat from laughter calling it a fake. Some gent in a beater old Honda wearing MINI S Lites complete with proper MINI logos traveling down Hawthorne Blvd. I must admit was just totally wrong, especially as the wheels were worth more than the car itself

LOL! . I'm afraid that may have been my doing. I sold my S-Lites to my neighbor, who put them on some old POS car he was trying to sell. I think I comitted Mini blasphemy .

 

saw a cr/w MC w/ red roof stripes and aero kit in westwood today, on veteran. looked real sharp, had a NAM sticker as well. i stood there for a few minutes admiring it, made me realize how much i LOVE r53's. and i want the aerokit on my car now =P

 

on the 71 this morning i spoted a JB/W cooper with an exhust, lowered, with wheels for the second time!

 

Last week i spoted a new 07 off white cooper with black hood stripes going down
gaffey St. in san pedro. Driver was a very cute chic. I waved but she just smiled.

 

i got scared you were talking about seeing my mom driving my mini! but we were in san pedro on sunday
later that sunday, we drove down the 405 south, saw a dark R53 MCS, with dark tint and I think JCW brakes. driver was talking on her cell so she'd speed up and slow down over and over again
i live in the south bay (redondo beach) and no other mini drivers have waved back

 

Hey, I'm in the south bay too and want to wave at someone who will wave back!! I'm usually in carson, torrance and el segundo (locations for home, my favorite barnes and nobles, and work, respectively ) Hope to see yah around! Look for the DS/B MCS with tinted windows

Also, had a good sighting: PS MCS with aero kit on SUnday in Carson a little before 2pm at Main St/Torrance Blvd. Guy in a baseball cap was STARING real hard, so I hope he saw my peace sign and grin!! Almost flipped around and chased him, but I had hungry ppls waiting for the food I was bringing back home, heh.

 

Good drive home today.

Had some fun on the streets of LB with DS/B MCS from the parking structure to the 405 S at Bellflower. Later I passed an EB/W MCS with a SoCal MINI Maniacs decal in the back window. He was stuck in the queue for the 57/5 from the 22E and didn't wave.

 

I saw Basil's twin in a parking structure at Main and Gillette in Irvine this morning - it was gone when I finished my meeting....

 

I noticed your black graphics from about 50 yards away! Couldn't really catch up since the 405 is a parking lot at 7:00pm

 

I rarely check this thread, but had a gut feeling today. You probably saw my wife, Little Egg. We switch off cars every day. She enjoys the 405 parking lot and I try to stay alert on the 101 clogmire.

manilaRICE, I also live in Redondo Beach and I saw your car when I was dropping my son off at school. I don't post here much because I'm at work but know that I do try to wave at other MINI's and you are not alone. I see so many MINI's daily in my commute that I don't even try to post here of all I see. Hardly any one waves back. :( Have fun with your car!

 

This afternoon received a huge smile and wave from a cute lady in a SS/B R56 Southbound on the 405 around Howard Hughes Centre.
