Chili Red MC(S?) Parked outside the Downey Pizza Company. I was sitting in the back, so I couldnt see it that well.

 

I followed a HB/White MCS this morning down OSO to the 5 North.

I waved a couple of times and also when I passed.

Driver seemed too busy picking his nose to wave though

 

Saw 2 today... I was getting on the 10 west near the 405, black cabrio from Jersey, tried to wave but the chick driving seems like she's too good to wave back.

2nd one was where the 110 N & 101 split older man driving, busy agruing with the otherr person in the car, lol

 

I've noticed there are two types of Mini owners around here..

The fun/nice people that wave or smile and the people that 'seem to good to wave'.

 

Actually I'd add a 3rd type--those that want to wave but are met with over 99% rejection rate and get sort of jaded--until one day a "fun/nice" person waves, and you're caught by surprise--too late. Now that person thinks I'm in the "too good to wave" class.

 

I'll agree to that, because that's starting to become me. I feel like a total jack-a$$ everytime I wave and just look at me..

I keep thinking of the Sarah Silverman "SAME CAR!!!!"

In the earlier days you could sort of tell who *might* be a waver i.e. enthusiast by a personalized license plate, or aftermarket items--but that no longer seems to work these days.

To get over the "total jack-a$$" feeling, I just give a deliberate arm stuck out the window--no thumbs up--but palm open like a high 5 as I pass. I don't look back for an acknowledgment, no expectations. I did the deed, and if they want to accept it fine, if not, atleast I tried.

 

Saw a PW/PW MCS with aero kit in the Puente Hills Malls parking lot, beside AMC 20 Movie Theater. Also saw a PW/PW MC with aero kit on Citrus, I was in Starbucks and it pass by.

If it's an S, has racing stripes or other obvious graphics, I figure there is a chance it's an enthusiast and wave. Most of the time nowdays I'm disapointed. But every once in a while...

If they've got a flag on the roof, odds go way up. If it's an Indi Blue/White MCS, with racing stripes, Aero grills, and a Union Jack roof, it's me!

You don't have to drive an S to be an enthusiast, a Cooper is also a MINI, and they love their cars as much as we love our S. Some Cooper drivers also wave, same as S drivers!

 

i wave all the time and never seem to get one back. seems most drivers i encounter (mini or otherwise) have a cranial-rectal inversion while behind the wheel.

 

Just spotted (around 5:45-6pm) in Torrance area; DS/B MINI (not sure if S).. looked mostly stock except you had a SoCal Mini Maniacs white sticker on the top of your rear window. You were inching along on 190th St headed East with me. I was a couple cars behind you (around 190th and Western/Normandie crossroads).. and then I ended up turning to take a back route to my school. Anyway, you might not have noticed me, since Im in a silver BMW.. but I saw you.

Saw a GP today under the 105 on imperial highway by the raytheon building. They look a lot nicer in person.

Saw two MCS' other night as well, one had MINI MAS as the liscense plate and was Green.

The other was in studio city. dark silver, lowered, rims, and what looked like a miltek exhaust and hauling something that was long and poking out his passenger window.

As for the waving, i usually look for if they acknowledge me driving the mini. If they do i look and give them a wave. one cute girl waved at me the other day, i must say i got pretty excited.

 

That was me!!!! Yeah, my Paladar's an S -- I blacked out all the red S badges though. I think I did see your car, but not the driver. Next time if you see me, wave and I'll wave back

Yesterday, I caravanned with two 07 MINIs on the 405N around 8:30-9am -- one was the Muustard..er..mellow Yellow and the other was Chili red with white bonnet stripes! made my day :]

 

Will do. I'm stuck in that same exact traffic everyday between 5:40-6pm (mon-fri). Maybe I'll see ya around there again. hehe.

Today on the 405N in the morning I saw a space blue MC with the grey...er..V shaped bonnet stripes, I gave a wave and gestured "hi" a few times, but no dice :(. Then a royal gray MCS with white stripes got on the freeway at the Hawthorne Blvd entrance, I think and they had a NAM sticker!! I waved when they pulled into the lane next to me and then they got behind me ( so they had to see my SCMM sticker) and waved as I was changing lanes to get off on El Segundo Blvd. I waved back again :] So, a big HI to the NAM person from the gal in the DS/B MCS! Whoo hoo!!! Was a good morning.

Around 10AM this morning, caught up with a PW/PW MCS with Aerokit and painted arches along the 91East near Cerritos and played until the 57 where I had to exit. Was a nice way to start the morning...I was in the Jet Black/Jet Black MCS that you couldn't shake but kept holding the lane everytime you needed to change back.

 

Saw my MINIs twin, err kinda, PW/B with black bonnet stripes and S-Lites MCS pre 05, on Pathfinder in Diamond Bar, I waved a few times, but I don't think you saw, but when you turned you waved, I hope you saw my wave back to you. Sweet car, I was in the PW/B with bonnet stripes and aero kit.

 

I also saw a Classic Mini RHD one on Amar today, you were 2 lanes to the left of me as I was turning right.

 

Hi everyone! Thought I'd pop by and poke my head into the confrence room here. I'm a new owner and am friggen loving it. Today I took er out on Decker Canyon Rd. If you've not done this- YOU SHOULD! It's amazingly fun! If you're in an 07, pop on the "Sport" button- you won't regret it!

Also I think it's fun what you're doing here on the site. If you end up seeing me- and I don't wave- I'm probably just trying not to fly off the road or jammin away to music. Flash the lights or something to get me out of my trance.

So I went to Pinks on Saturday. While standing in line, and eating we spotted so many MINI's driving up La Brea and Melrose. Then on the way back home saw more on Santa Monica, as well as two sitting in two driveways right next to each other on Overland. I have never seen that many MINI's in one day, it was crazy.

 

Got a wave from a Pure Silver MCS (I think) with ghost Union Jack flag on rear quarter panels (I think) at Lincoln and Jefferson this morning in Marina Del Rey around 9AM. Had my tinted window up and by the time I noticed the wave, it was too late--nobody EVER waves in Marina Del Rey that I encounter--lol. Now he thinks I'm a snob.
