General MINI TalkShared experiences, motoring minutes, and other general MINI-related discussion that applies to all MINIs, regardless of model, year or trim.
Changed the cabin microfilter (one pleat slightly chewed and a tbs of small 1/8" seed husks as evidence of critters in the previous owner's garage).
Changed the engine air filter - not too dirty but enough to do it while I had the cover off.
Pulled the windshield washer pump behind the wheel well liner - lots of leafy debris in the fluid that poured out from the bottom and a bit of grunge on the gasket/strainer.
The washer had been a little intermittent and pretty wimpy, now its reliable and sprays with much stronger streams.
I was going to order a new pump but glad now that I didn't and instead simply addressed the underlying problem.
well its official, I have probably one of the loudest minis in the world..... I have a 04 R53 JCW and over the last few months I have removed the mufflers first, than the resonator, and now the cat, so yes... a true straight piped mini, and let me tell you it is insane
Got back from vacation and tested the battery to see how much life is left after not driving him for a short while. Battery was registering 12.03v... eek But he cranked over and idled fine. Took him for short drive and battery is back up to speed.
Happy Monday everyone.... this is what's been done in past couple days. Black Scuttles with smoked led side markers, black Cooper S badge, rear wiper delete, tints, black fuel door and cnt exhaust system..... more to come!
Thought this could be an idea for an ongoing thread and I have something to put in.
Finally installed my super charger pulley with my boyfriend! He got it for me a year ago for Valentine's day but it's been sitting in the box ever since. He took the initiative this Valentine's day to get the belt, removal tool, and spark plugs. Installation went fairly smoothe, still haven't fired her up because my battery is dead from leaving my headlights on a couple days ago (whoops). We're gunna go jump her in a few and go for a night cruise.
So... what'd you do to your mini today?
Well, I got into a fender bender with someone. Thankfully, the only thing damaged was the license plate. And a scratch on the other guy's bumper. Gonna cost me something
autocrossed with the oem header, car felt choked up running the oem cat and a high flow cat further down. welded on a new flex pipe for the 4:1 header it sure does open it up on top, glad to have the oem off again..
also I suck at welding if it's not on a bench in front of me
Installed on our Clubman, new chrome grill trim, top and bottom. Union Jack puddle lights, Union Jack door pulls and glove box button. This is after I got it back from having new shocks, water pump, valve cover, front control arm bushings, 25mm rear sway bar, new tires and a 4 wheel alignment. I almost forgot, front floor mats.
I really need to figure out the suspension setup as the struts are toast after 14y 8m. lol Been driving the Odyssey (susp rebuilt 45k miles ago) and the CRX (adj susp rebuilt 18k miles ago) around before returning to the Mini... and the Mini needs assistance.
I blacked out the chrome beltline trim with the matte tape from OutMotoring. There's a few little bubbles & creases, but overall it turned out really well!
