Got an email today, the Chrysler dealer has finally got all the work done to the mini and I should be able to pick it up by the weekend. This was going to be a winter/summer car besides my gas guzzler dodge ram truck. It took them so long to get it to where I wanted it I found a 2004 Chrysler sebring touring sedan with 70,000 miles on it. It's in excellent shape (for $1500) and just needed two rear shock hats and rockers for a safety certificate. It looks like the mini is now going to be babied 😎
Decided to put the winter wheels on my son's new (2004) Mini today. Every bolt was frozen..it too me 2 hours to swap tires. I broke a few tools......cussed quire a bit and my back is killing me. The rear wheels were spinning on the ground as i tried to break them loose.. I put so much never seize on those bolts it should never happen again. Never had a car that did not have lug nuts.....Now I know why no one else uses these.
My S sits with its battery tender,
Our Blue sits on its fantastic winter “shoes”,
Both all snug in their closed garage,
Both laughing at their poor cousin, Linus the Waragler,
Linus is sitting out in the open on the driveway awaiting the upcoming snow fall.
Ha, says Linus when there is six inches of snow on the roads,
His owner pulling a nice 4WD drift around the upcoming corner,
Who’s having fun now, Says Linus.
The R52 needed anew battery and I also finally replaced the starter at 283K. Now the AC compessor clutch/ main unit is locked up and I need a new one. The life of almost a 300K MINI

Wow, you got your mileage out of that starter and AC clutch. My AC clutch went at 89k miles... replaced that... now the compressor is on its last legs at 125k.
Yep, I ran the AC in the R52 like maybe 5 times a year just to make sure it turns and runs. The starter I cleaned off the terminals once and greased the little ground cable so it would not rust. They served me pretty well.

We got some pre-holiday snow in Massachusetts, so I guess it's time to swap the summer Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires for Bridgestone Blizzak LM-32s and put the ride height to max!
Winter Wonderland
WINTER MODE ENGAGED

Took mine into mini of Windsor. I was going over the car to do a paint correction and spotted two rust blisters on the back club doors. 12 year warranty to be tested. It's a 2009 model hopefully I get something done. Two doors would be nice 😁
Spent the night in my detached garage washing my car since my hose is frozen. I paid $3 to power wash the dirt off a block away and finished the job at home. I'll take my Hyundai people mover to the carwash, but I'll be damned if a spinning brush is going to touch my JCW. On a side note, when is Meguiar's going to come out with a cologne?
Not so mini related but the wife and I are in Phoenix As visiting our son, the brought us to Flagstaff for the weekend, man it's cold. From Texas we don't see Temperature like this nor snow LOL. But love Phoenix it is gourgues.
