Changed out the gear oil in the transmission. Used Redline MTL. Noticed MUCH smoother shifting right away.

Thinking about a short shifter now. Any thoughts on the add on shift adapters, as opposed to the full replacement from Cravenspeed?

1.) Changed rear brakes to EBC Reds, Noticed the rear passenger brake pads had excessive wear compared to the other 3 wheels. The other pads didn't even need to be changed, looked like I just put them on. I bled all 4 wheels and flushed the brake lines.
2.) Changed the CV boots, simple job until I hit the bearing and all the little roller pin bearings flew all over the place....LOL With my eagle eyes, I was able to find all the little pin bearings and put them back into their case, (retainer ring).
3.) Change the Valve Cover/Spark Plug seal gaskets.

On my way to work this morning, I got the EML light, will check the codes when I get home later today. Should be nothing, I hope........

This morning I dropped off the little bastard at the body shop. A couple weeks ago I had a kayak accident that dented and scratched up the roof, ripped off the antenna assembly and tore up the rain gutters.

Put on a Sphereology ****.
Originally ordered the Orbature, but it turned out to be on long back order.
470g compared to the stock **** at 180g - smoother shifting, easy install.
Looks nice. Delrin shell won't be too hot or too cold in summer/winter.

Nice. I have the Contour now, and I’m looking at picking up a Sphereology as an alternate.

"Got rid of the awful run flat tires and made a video about it on the Oregon coast!"

Those run flats changed out make a huge difference.

Crossed a mileage milestone. Afraid of which major component is going to be first to break.

That is impressive! Is the entire drivetrain original?

This is pretty awesome. Which MINI do you drive? What have you done to it so far?

Hope it drives another 250k for you

Clutch and front bushings are the only things replaced so far.

also the 15% reduction pulley, and 22mm rear swaybar, Madness CAI, and spark plugs.

Everything else on the drive train is original from the factory. Built 07/14 as a 2015 early build LCI (facelifted) model.

Wow - 235,000 miles and it's an (early) 2015? You drive it quite a lot! I thought you were talking about an older vehicle.

Got myself a JCW exhaust. Painted the tips blacked. Installed it today with help from friends. Removed the red viper stripes. Loving the clean and simple look

Washed it, drained and refilled the coolant, and cleaned/re-oiled the filter element on my ECS intake.

Once all that was done, it was such a nice day I decided to drive CA-84 over the hill to the coast and back. There was traffic so I couldn't have too much fun but most people were being polite and using the turnouts to let faster traffic by. It was a nice mellow cruise on the way out, on the way back I ended up behind two motorcycles who were not the usual "donorcycle" riders with a death wish. In fact they were S-L-O-W. There was a new Camaro behind me who was barely keeping up. Finally I found a turn out with good sight lines behind it, so I pulled off and let the Camaro by. I waited until I saw traffic coming up behind me, then was able to have a spirited drive up to Skyline, catching the Camaro at the stop by Alice's. Not pushing hard, just good fun.
