R59 So what are your winter plans?
So what are your winter plans?
For all you Southerners and Southwest drivers, you can ignore this post because, yes, we know how nice it is in your state from now until March. For all you others like me who are in the snow belts, what do you plan to do with your Roadster for the next 4 months or so. Use it as a daily driver and slog through the snow and salty slush all winter
or make it garage queen, starting it a few times a week And polishing it and cleaing it.
When I finally get mine after my wife gets back to work, I won;t take it ot to play in the rain or snow and the only time it will get wet is when I wash [obsessively]. My Crossfire will bear the brunt of mother natures wrath.

Already have my second set of wheels with Blizzak LM-60s on. My Roadster is a daily driver but if there is snow/sleet/salt already on the roads when I leave home or if there is a very good chance that day, I will drive my Ram 1500 4x4.
Got the Blizzaks and the winter footwell mats, and if it's above freezing on a weekend it will get at least a basic rinsing off.
Other than that, the plan is top-down when the sun's shining. I even bought a nice new woolly hat with a peak that will keep the sun out, the visors are useless when the top is down!

I'm ready for winter. Now have a second set of wheels (see the red accents?) with Blizzaks, plus rubber floor mats.
Since I'm now retired, I can just leave it in the garage on truly nasty days. Or maybe just put the top up.

I agree Drive it!!!
My wife has a MINI Cooper and it has done fine with the stock tires for the last two winters here in Massachusetts...
I had Blizzak's on my Miata and they were fantastic so if you want that extra grip you won't be sorry.
Bought 2013 Roadster on the 13th, oops 11th last Tuesday and have 5:15 of top down fun............... heated seats, heater going, a hat and you are all set..
Me i'm driving it. Although have learned that i need @ least 50 degrees for top down at night.

I've done top-down in high twenties/low thirties, but 13 degrees yesterday was too much even for me! Nice and toasty inside though, even with the single layer top.
