Can anyone provide a link to that? It's the first I've heard of it; How does it affect the seat's ability to fold?

Love this forum and especially this thread. Way better than any manual! Certainly more entertaining!
Ditto!

The device the rear of the seat latches to is L shaped And can be pivoted to provide a longer arm positioning the seat back more forward when latched. Seat base stays the same And fold down position is unaffected.

Today I tried the repositioning of the rear seats to a more upright position as I've seen described here at least a couple times. Those of you who have had passengers ride in seats positioned so are no doubt sadists.

I would never make anyone ride in the back with the seats in the more upright pos but it is great for extra boot space without the increased road noise of fully folded forward rear seats.

I don't sound my alarm chirps when someone walks by or is next to my car UNLESS they are asking for it. And by that I mean the type of inconsiderate tards that lean on your car, rubs up against it or decide to let their brat swing their door into the side of your car. Car alarms, chirps, fart cans, horns, etc are just part of the urban musical landscape if you will...annoying yes, but it would probably behoove most of us to not get worked up over such small things (myself included).
Amen Ambrosia! Those so bothered by beeps, chirps, flashes of light etc., you know there's a pill for that....Xanax!

Hokey Pokey

Half way through the posts, at 1305 and still finding things I didn't know. Wow, is this fun, or what! I had to laugh out loud when reading some of the longer procedures to accomplish a task and the Hokey Pokey song came to mind.

You push the fob button in, you let the fob button out, you push the fob button in then you turn it all about, you do the Hokey Pokey and you turn yourself around, that's what it's all about........or how you open the boot!

I agree VF! Just discovered that Friday after packing for first weekend getaway in MINI. Stood there, parcel shelf in hand, and it hit me...Why not there? PERFECT!

I discovered that the MINI is smart enough not to roll the windows all the way up when the door is open. It leaves it down just enough to snug it up when you close the door and not hit the window as the door is closed.

not a mini thing you didn't know...

but there is a multi-quote button (the "+) or you can just open quote things in multiple tabs then copy & paste into one instead of posting several times in a row.

Although the standard fob will not close windows (or sunroof) with lock button, won't Comfort Access fob do it?

Or is it just the black button that does the complete close and lock.
Fob unlocks, opens windows and sunroof. Black button on door handle will close all and lock + turn off radio. No need for the metal key at all except for when fob battery is dead.

I copied this list to my Notepad application in windows, saved it in Mini Cooper folder, and printed out a hard copy for my glovebox. Just as valuable as any tool!

Use cassettes in a portable cassette player plugged into auxilary. Of course for any new books you would have to transfer from cd to cassette, but I bet you can still find older books on cassette at auction sites and garage sales. I guess it all depends on your level of frustration with playback issue.

Or if you have a computer you can rip your audio books to a thumb drive and play them through the USB next to the Aux input. You can control that right through the radio controls and if you get one of the small USB sticks no one will ever see it.

Cassette...what's a cassette? I download audio books to my iPod and play using the Y-cable. The iPod remembers where I stopped the last time and picks back up at the same spot.

I'm also trying to figure out the utility of the side cubbies in the back seat. I've had the car 3 weeks and I just noticed those.
On my 2006 MCS the side cubbies were perfect for storing the 2 quarts of oil...

If you're a distance from our car and want to unlock it, you'll find better reception distance if you touch the key fob to your cheek as you press the button (regular access). There has been a lot of speculation as to what causes this, and some have said it's an urban legend of the MINI world, but I can personally state that it works. One theory is that our sinus cavities create an antenna of sorts.

Around the time it was first discussed, my husband and I happened to go on a picnic. The park had a lot of trees and hilly ground. I'd gone up to the car for something and realized that I had forgotten my key. I yelled to my husband to "click the car," but he couldn't get it to open. He was a little down hill and far away that I had to shout, but even though he held the key as high as he could reach, it wouldn't unlock. I hollered back that he needed to touch the key to his cheek, and it unlocked immediately. He later told me he'd thought I was nuts, but was amazed that it actually worked the way the thread said it would! Dunno know why it works.
There's that Hokey Pokey song in my head again! Thanks Daf!

But does it remember where you last listened and take up where you left before stopping and starting the car?

Too funny? Mouth has to be open, not open or doesn't matter?
