No joke, there's a label under the plate with the VIN.
Huh? Why not just look through the windshield?
Or, on the strut tower under the hood ... if you use reading glasses, like I do.

You are welcome and just passing along the information that was very helpful to me when I originally asked here.

This is a great thread but man that was a lot. My only suggestion is to put a summary at the very beginning, is that possible? I think I saw a very good one on page 24.
Oh and enough with the wipers all ready man we got stuck on that subject quite a few times in here lol! I can not wait to get my Mini and try all the new stuff I learned!

The funkiest thing about the wipers was that starting with my build week (lucky me) they changed how the intermittent setting worked but never mentioned it in the manual or told the dealers. It would be interesting to see if they've added it to the manual yet.
What has changed? In my case (week 3 of '07), the automatic wipers were triggered by a small twist on the stalk. After a reprogramming for something else entirely, they began working by tapping the END of the stalk! Makes a lot more sense, fortunately.
How did it change in your case?

My sunroof does now stop at the crack-open spot, however. Which is a great improvement.
My week was the first with the end of the stalk push as standard for intermittents. It wasn't in the manual and no one at the dealer knew about it!

Was this in response to your software upload? I thought the sunroof was supposed to be a 1-touch open but it doesn't work that way. I've got to hold the little toggle until just the right moment if I want to crack it open- or keep holding it for what seems like a really long time to open the sunroof all the way. It would be nice to tap it once for crack open and tap it again for full open.
Good to see another Oregon motorer on here.

I'll have to try it this afternoon. I have a 2008 as well and have never been able to get my sunroof to stop at the tilt point, without letting off the button.
Mine works this way also. Hit the button lightly and it stops at tilt for opening and closing. If you hit the button past the tension in the button then it will open or close fully..
The tension is similar as the turn signal stalk. Tap the turn signal for a couple blinks, or pull/push it down past the tension feeling in the stalk.
No auto open or close for the sunroof.

You should ask the MINI/BMW service dealer if they can program it into your fob. I know they can program the fob to nlock both doors at a time if you want.
That said, there is no way to program the second-generation car to have its doors unlock after stopping.
Your only choice is to have the locks engage automatically when driving off and manually unlock them when you stop or leave them unlocked all of the time while driving.
I don't think that's possible. The sport button came standard for cars sold in the U.S. Unfortunately, for the UK and at least some other markets, it was strictly an option.
Follow me home turns on the lights of the vehicle for a couple of minutes so you can see what you are doing. I think you press the on-board computer button to activate it.
