I never did confirm what ship mine was on--WW never showed my VIN as cargo, and the other ship mentioned (Frisia) went into Charleston a few days sooner than expected.

Oh well, at least it's on our shores. Might have been QE2, as I first mentioned. Sure wasn't on the ship I just left (vacation cruise).

Maybe--depends on that release date business. My MA told me the same thing, though.

Looks like I might not be getting mine on the 17th as my MA has repeatedly told me. I just checked the Owners Lounge and my estimated delivery date has changed from the 12th to the 22nd. I was having a hard enough time getting through this weekend in anticipation of getting it, but now it looks like I will have to go through one more weekend.

Ugh!

In my recent experience, late at night. Like 10-11-12 PM EST.

Ok I double checked with my MA and she said that even though the OL says that the expected delivery is 2/22 that she thinks it will be here this week.

She said that according to the information that she has access to that my MINI was released to the carrier on Friday. So, my question is what do you all think? Does anyone know how quickly it might get here if it is already released from the VDC?

Me too! My expected delivery date was 2/11 and my MA says "no movement". Status still shows at the VDC. I'm starting to feel like a stalker calling the MA daily - "Any change yet? How 'bout now? Now?"

Hello gang,
Anyone worried about problems/issues with our vehicles? I've been reading mini2 2nd gen faults and fixes and getting a little worried. Paul Mullet is having a ton of problems with his car, but then again it's a first batch type vehicle so hopefully ours would be a lot better. I need some group therapy/assurances! Trying to stay optimistic about things...

Hey John I gotta tell ya I feel the same way. Although I guess everything is covered under the warranty, as long as I am not out of pocket that is all I'm worry about. I am sure our cars will be fine (hopefully)

I may be whistling in the dark, but I've had a number of "first year" cars, and really no particular problems. Included were three BMWs...

Hopefully we won't have to use the warranty too much, but it is there.

SO, can anyone confirm that a customer built car has actually left the VDC yet?
So far, I can only confirm that dealer demo's have actually been released.
I know I have nothing to complain about but these silly games are beginning to irritate me. The car is available in Europe, has been seen in all the car shows, the press release is over, deliver the cars for cripes sake.

Yeah, I agree. The dealers have their cars--let's get ours!

It had better be here next week...

My MA keeps saying "no movement". A rep at askmini said dealers would want to have the cars on the lot for the launch Saturday so people walking around can check them out... I'd rather NOT have a bunch of people sitting in my car unless I'm giving them a ride! It is a drag that the cars are just sitting there (either the VDC or dealer) - at least Mini could communicate their intentions. If they're waiting for the launch, that's cool but why is it a secret... All this waiting makes me think up good conspiracy theories or join John in thinking something bad has happened to car itself. I may need to reset my own expectation for March 1st and if I get it sooner I'll be pleasantly surprised - now if only someone would hack into the OL and change my expected delivery date from 2/11 to 3/1!

I can confirm my car left VDC on the 14th.. I saw it on my MA's computer.. They said it can arrive as early as Saturday.

Delivery Date Changed

My estimated delivery date was 2/13. Tonight it changed to 2/19.

Not a worry, because I can't pick it up this weekend anyway, and the 24th is the earliest I could pick it up, but it's disappointing having it moved out nearly a week.

Hope everyone on the east coast gets their MINI's soon! Thanks for making me feel more at ease about new car warranties and such. One more thing that's been on my mind before I put it to rest... extended warranties! So are any of yous thinking of getting an extended warranty? Not service but covering defects and stuff after 4yr/50k. What if the tranny kicks the bucket at 60k? BMW isn't known for rock solid reliability. My wife thinks I should. I want to hear some opinions, thanks.
