Congrats on getting your car! I love the CR & black racing stripes, it looks sharp. What did you think of your 1st 200 miles? Im glad to see that my car's shipmate finally arrived!

First 200 were great. Mix of interstate and back country roads. What impressed me most was the complete lack of any rattles. Now, if I can just remember to hit that sport button.

Congrats, Rodfly! That's some interior! I'll bet you were frazzled at the end of that 200 miles, eh? Breaking in a new car is hard work, I think, and there's such an overprotective instinct in MINI owners. I got my first bugs today, and I'm feeling bad for the car that I actually have to wash the windshield!

We're lucky--no rattles and no sunroof wind noise!

The only way to keep a car clean during winter in Chicago is to not drive it. I figure a dirty car is a small price to pay for all the fun I had.

Glad to hear it! Would you believe that I have used the sport button once since I got the car. I figured it was best to save it for after Im through the break in period

I'm still trying to figure out the automatic lights and automatic locks. Somehow we got deprogrammed!

I hate computers (sometimes)...

I think I know why it's taken so long to get cars out of the VDC in New Jersey--it's 'cause the longshoremen want to drive the new cars!

It's a shame if we don't because the compartment is perfectly camoflauged, and no one would ever know it's there (unless they own a MINI!).
Picked up our car this afternoon, and the compartment was glued shut. I saw the dealer bulletin and was told as soon as they had the right parts in, they would fix my door. Obviously, like many other things, the right parts are going to production first, and will need time to trickle down to service.

I was assured that it would be fixed, so that is fine with me, as long as I end up with it somehow.

Yep my dealer said he expects mid march for a fix and a bulletin.

That's encouraging. Art was cautiously optimistic, except he couldn't figure out how they would open the compartment if it's wired/glued shut, without taking off the entire panel or pulling out the regular glove compartment..

Guess that's for MINI to decide!

Movement - finally. My OL deliver date just went from 9Feb to 24Feb - as in tomorrow! They have to do the stripes, etc, if it even shows up tomorrow, so I'm not getting my hopes up. But next week looks likely.

My car should be at the dealer Sat. according to Doug at MINI and Mon. by my MA. Both agree my MFSW will be retro-fitted sometime there after!

Lava, maybe it won't be as long as you think--my MA says the stripes aren't dealer items if you have the Sport package. Congrats on your impending delivery--the wait's almost over!

Inomis--I thought they couldn't retrofit the MFSW. Or is this a reorder?

I'm getting Sport Stripes Deb, and I'm pretty sure the dealer does these.

And yes, the latest word is the MFSW retrofit will be available. I may wait for that too if they are able to do it right away. Otherwise I may just keep the money and forget about it.

As of today they can! Not a re-order. They could always do the retro-fit the only question was if they would.

I have to say I feel lucky, and I'm glad that with the MFSW MINI's stepped up to the plate, though a bit late. I confirmed with my MA that the car has everything I asked for. It's only about 16 hours away from me now...

The cruise might save you from some speeding tickets, I wish I had left it in my spec. It's going to take some getting use to checking speed especially since the S seems to want to go fast and do it fairly effortlessly.

Mine is in at the dealer (amazingly enough as promised by the OL at the 11th hour!). Got a voice mail. No details, no arrangements for pickup yet.

Relieved actually - about 2 1/2 months since I first visited the dealer.
