R56 2007 Week 3 Production
Yes I have the JCW aero kit. The wheels are O.Z. Ultraleggera 18" wheels and 225/40-18 Yokohama Parada Spec 2 tires. It's the photo that makes it look lower.
Sigh - still waiting for delivery. 20 days since it arrived in NJ. <banging head against desk>
We picked up our Mini today - I did not expect to earlier, but the stripes would not be ready for a few days at best, and our salesman was facing the end of the month and was eager to have our sale on the books, so we went for it. Motor now, stripes later.
I'm not going to do yet another review - everybody has it well covered. I'm just completely wired with the driving experience - that is just about all I can offer right now. :D
A few things that have been flying around: the upper storage compartment is closed up as it is on others. Came with the 3 spoke sans MF as discussed elsewhere. Mesh pocket is on the passenger side. Came with a coin cup. And mints. Dealer threw in mats. Came with mesh cargo holders in hatch - not sure if they were in with the mats or the dealers good will? No rub under the hood as blogged elsewhere. 2 miles on the odometer (they told me they have come in with 999,999 before - somebody is rolling them back in the factory!) Center stack controls have a tactile coating on them - I have not read about this elsewhere - the controls that you turn on the AC, radio, multi control all have that kind of coating that gives them a rubbery grippy feeling.
a few pictures - just with my phone cam:

It was just getting dark, and an overcast day. I'll do better in the future.
We test drove another S before my car was ready - a SS/B with the red leather interior. The 17" wheels definitely make the steering feel more directly connected to the road - people who want that will be well served by 17" tires/wheels. The sun roof on this car was making that windy noise. It must have been an earlier build as the storage compartment was not locked down. I suspect this sun roof thing has probably been solved. Interesting - this car had white bonnet stripes, should have been black, as some others have experienced. A mistake, yes I suppose, but it will be unique - I'd keep it!

Looks nice greg!
The rear boot nets are part of the storage pack. I have the small rub starting under the hood. The offender is a flexible cable held by a lightweight plastic bracket. A stamp size piece of black foam or rubber tape will take care of it.

I have the rear boot nets, but didn't order anything to get them--wonder if they are a throw-in or are now standard? My MA made a point of showing how the side pockets will keep my milk from being tossed around!
I figure I'm going to save lots on my groceries because I can't carry as much.

It snowed last night, but was high 30s today, so it was melting and the roads were clear, if a little slushy. But no DSC, and no LSD - mine is stripped down. Without the MFSW, or stripes, the only option on the car is the HID headlights.
Greg congrats she looks beautiful! Those Bridge Spokes look nicer than I was expecting. I've been concerned about them.
Happy Motoring!
mamarazzi -- I'm in awe of your MINi, beautiful everything!! When you get a chance can you take some shots from different angles? My future mods, include at least the JCW side Skirts, I'm debating geting 17" or 18" whls after I pick my MY MCS up -- hopefully tomorrow. I'll have to look up those OZs and whls on TireRack. Thanks for posting the photo and spec!!
Congrats and Happy Motoring

Very nice, I like the red with the black roof, I'm a big black roof fan. I also noticed the feel of some of the ***** when I was at the dealers rollout, it felt good to the touch but I hope they don't get sticky after a couple of years baking in the summer sun. When you get a chance, how about some interior shots?
Awesome car Lava.
I have the nets in the back.. they are now standard with our cars.
BTW: No rubber under hood? You mean on the hood scoop area? Mine has it
My thing is sealed as well of course but sunroof makes no noise =] (week 2 build)

I should have elaborated, they were the plastic bag sort. I didnt have the seats folded down, I more or less just stacked them on top of each other, the heaviest stuff at the bottom and the more delicate stuff on the top. It worked out well!
Ok - but nothing but basic standard in there.. I have to get my wife's camera as all I have anymore is my phone.
No no - hood rub. There is a known issue - a spot under the hood near the front on the passenger side where a small hose or filler cap is rubbing on the underside of the hood, and it can take all the paint off after a while. New owners should watch the spot for rubbing.
Today I noticed way in the back of the glove compartment is the adjustable air vent - its still heated and cooled!

Hello gang!
Picked up my MCS yesterday afternoon. So far it's been awesome. I'm still getting used to the stick after a 6 month layoff. Only stalled once!
I'll try to post some pics tonight...

Notice I said need, not want.
When I test drove an R53 when ordering my R56 it was the first time I had driven a stick since 1999 ...and it was like I had never stopped. It felt soooooooo good.
