I'm curious, how did you discover you were in week three of production for your R56? All it says for me is that my car is "scheduled for production" but nothing definite about the week.

I'm in 3rd, at the moment at least. Krut, do you know what port DC and Norfolk cars come in through?

Legalr, if you call 866-ask-mini they can tell you the week the system thinks your car will be built. It will be 1/3, 1/4 for week 3 or 4, etc. it seems.

It's been 2 whole days! Anyone in production week 3 get an updated status yet? Based on the week 2 posts it seems that maybe this will occur on Monday. Any other guesses?

My car has moved up a little bit.. it's just waiting to get in the queue at this point. According to MINI there is a high probability that it will run through the production line on Friday/Saturday.

I was told that mine should be in the line on monday. My MA also told me that they aren't holding any cars back. When they get here they are letting them be picked up. The wait will soon be over.

Ive been told I'm week three. Yesterday my scheduling code is #112 -- don't know exactly what that means.
My MA said when it goes to #117 changes are not likely. I called ASKMINI yesterday and they said there is no code #117 that it goes from 112 to 150.
Anyone know about these codes? What is right?
Somehow I think I will not be week 3 - I have not been told anything about no more changes or last chance to make changes.
LOCOBRIT -- my MA said they would not release any until the US launch date (I think Feb 21st?) but he said that they expect to be getting orders in all that week -- by the look of it. There are a bunch sitting in Newark NJ right now that are not getting to their owners.

I'm confused. Yesterday I was told by a human that I had a week 3 status. Today the automated line immediately put me through to a human, and now the status is unknown. He said it has been either put forward or back, and that he can't tell which right now. Anyone else get this information?

I have a week 3 for the new Mule, as told by the MA based on the order. This is a bit behind where I thought it would be, so it may be that the factory is a little backlogged. I have no info on the codes, but I'll check on it.

Here are the specs on the new Mule (eventhough no one asked ) :

MCS
Chile Red/Black roof
Sport Suspension
LSD
16" Bridge Spoke (to be changed straight away)
Sports leather steering wheel
Anthracite headliner
Lounge Leather Carbon Black
Rooster Red color line
Piano Black interior surface

There will be numerous additions to the car as new products are developed . I also plan to add the Aerokit, just because I like the way it looks, and I will paint the fenders to match (much the same way I did the Mule for those who are familiar with that car).

Should be fun!

Randy

Unless things have changed status code 112 means your order cannot be changed because it is scheduled for produciton. Next status code is 150 meaning production has started.

Not trying to make any one jealous or anything... How accurate is the owner's lounge status? Stat on my new baby said it's completed awaiting transport since last weekend (01/07/2007). If so, then that's super quick -- since I didn't order it until mid December; and production for U.S. isn't until January.

Though my dealer said to expect it in March at time of order.... So this means they're producing 'em faster than they expect? I'm not familiar with how the factory schedule their production -- is this a mistake? or is there some other factor a play here?

Kolinar;I think I read that cars are only 2-3 days in production. I have to find where I read that maybe MINI2 forum? Anyway I think 1866askmini and talk to a breathing person (not the recording -- try "0") is usually more accurate than the OL. From what I've hear from others here the OL usually runs slower than reality in which case it might be further along thank the OL indicated. I'd call if I were you.
Aslo check out a great thread here on NAM on tracking your MINI -- you can track it across the Atlantic -- very neat, Shipping/clearing port seems to be the long part.
I wouldn't be surprised if your MA's original estimate ends up being off -- I think MINI padded the original estimates so that buyers would be pleasently surprised rather than disappointed if there was a snag along the way.
It seems a bit of a mystery why some later orders seem to be moving faster than some earlier orders but I have read that seems to happen.
One other thing that has been mentioned in these threads is the question of when the recieving facility at port will release the cars to the dealers -- some people have heard no orders will be distributed until the US launch -- FEB 17th. and if you are not on the east coast that may be later (?) not sure about that one.
There are cars delivered and in the holding cell at port but I would be surprised if anyone (except MINI employees see them before the official launch) -- that's just my guess. I can not see dealers releasing cars they are not prepared to troubleshoot -- well at least to a point anyway.
It seems it might be free advertising for MINi to get them out early and create a buzz in advance of the dealer launch. Then again the only people that might notice the subtle changes are those that are already interested in MINIs. Well looks like I've come full circle.
Let us know what you find out.
Jim

The time from when your car is ordered to when it's produced is more depended on your order and your dealer than with other cars here. It's my understanding that the dealer is given slots in the queue at least for this initial production run. Your dealer had an early slot available that could be used to fill your order. My dealers first slot may be 50 cars after yours even though I ordered in early Dec. and was asking to order in August, at least that's what I'm telling myself...:impatient

Well, I just checked into the owners lounge for my daily check. I am now listed as "awaiting transport", which is exactly on schedlue with what a Mini advisor told me a few weeks ago. It's got LSD and it's a six speed manual...Just to help clear up any confusion being spread by the "hater" saying that they won't be producing six speed manuals until March.

Just got off the phone with ask MINI. My car started production today 1/11, is scheduled to finish on 1/18 and is at code 150! Online site has not been updated.

Wonder if it can make it over by 2/17?

Once again I was automatically put through to a human, and the word is that my car is in "Production Pack," or has a "Production Pack," or something like that. Anyone know what that's all about? I'd previously been given a Week 3 date.

I have a 2007 MCS (LB/W) on order; the Owners Lounge says 'On Order', while a person at 1-866-ASK-MINI says it is production code 112 scheduled to be build next week on 1/15/07.

I had a week 3 schedule and was at code 112. Now I have moved back to 105 with no schedule - does not make sense and I do not have any options that are backordered. I called ask mini and they could not identify why and were baffled as this had not happened with cars that have zero option issues. Any insight from anyone? I am thinking that the numbers may have been transposed from 150 to 105 and may actually be being built under 150?

Ask Mini said they would call me today after further research.

Also - now when plugging in prod number on ask number it automatically goes to a ask mini person not the computer auto status?
