R56 2007 Week 3 Production
hello everyone! so far I think only 2 of us in the thread are west coast. I've checked WW site but no status yet on shipment. there's supposed to be another carrier but I guess I'll have to call my MA for info. Anyone on the west know which ship we're on? My MINI is supposed to be released to carrier
At what point does your VIN show up on the WW site? There are ships from Southhampton to NY every few days. Leaving-arriving on 1/26-2/5 is Freedom, 1/30-2/8 is Toledo and 2/1-2/10 Taipan
One of those may get us here by 2/17.

Called in 1/17, they said in paint shop. Called today (1/19) they say complete, released to a carrier, and awaiting transport.
Also got my stubby antenna talisman today, so in a way, I have a piece of the car already.

It may take a couple of days but putting your VIN at the WW site referenced by inomis will allow you see exactly which ship you're on. At the same site you can select "Customer Centre>Schedules" to see which ships they have leaving Southhampton. Asking your MA will also get you the same info. I've heard that for us west coasters they may ship using someone other than WW, NYK I think. Best of luck.
Quick delivery predictions to follow up on my success of predicting the EPA estimates.
After production, they're going to pool these into a lot and truck them or tote them by rail to the shipping line. That takes time. Gut feeling tells me that's a weekly batch thing. I honestly have no idea. Just a wild guess. So from the time it reaches "waiting for transport" at the phone status to when it reaches the transport, let's say it's an average of 3.5 days. A complete fantasy number, but let's move on...
The WW site says cargo has to be received at the Southampton docks 4 working days before ship closing. 7 days in a week, two weekend days, you get an average of 6 calendar days waiting time. (trust me, it works out that way) We're up to 9.5 days on average so far before setting sail.
Sail time to Charleston is 14 or 15 days, average 14.5. That brings us to 24 days on average to get to the US east coast port.
Then it's got to be unloaded, clear customs and be picked up it to local transport. Let's pick numbers out of the air again, and say one calendar week for that. 31 days so far.
Then it's got to get to the dealer, at least 6 days. I moved from Seattle to Austin , it took the movers 8 days and they were late. Probably more stops for the movers. 37 days so far.
Then you've got at least 3 days at the dealer for dealer-installed stuff, inventory, and prep. 40 days. Five weeks and five days.
So, assuming mine was finished on 19 Jan, that puts my goofball probably-no-sooner-than estimate as 28 February.
I'm hereby vowing not to call or email my MA with "is it there yet" questions until 28 February (conveniently a Monday), in which I hope to hear "yes, it got here just a couple days ago and we're installing the driving lights and other stuff you ordered."

Let's say according to WW the earliest you can leave Southampton is 1/26/07 on the Freedom since you said it might be done with production on the 19th and it takes 1-3 days to get to the port, it will arrive at Charleston, SC on 2/10/07. Sits there for at most 1 week because there will be no damages
. Then gets transported to TX in 3-5 days, it will be 2/(20or22)/07. Then a few days for dealer prep and install. So best case scenario is end of Feb like you said. But this is all conjecture. I wish you luck, mostly for restraining yourself from calling your MA before then, you are a stronger person than I.
Interesting calculation.
But that does not answer the question about the MINIs that are in the US already.
Let me share some numbers that, if correct, shorten the timeline.
My car finished production 1/17 is boarded on a ship leaving 1/20.
Based on the info I have been given it looks like (in this case) 6.5 days are shaved off your timeline. The ship (at least mine) will stop at NY and drop cars off there -- thats a 9 day trip. So for those being transported from the Northern entry point that makes shipping (in this specific case) 15.5 days. The time it takes to clear customs, schedule and prepare for the truck ride seems excessive at 7 days. This timing is probably less by at least 2 days. The cars will clear customs in bulk or maybe they clear customs before leaving England -- lots of cargo is inspected in foreign ports (I don't know about cars.) For me my dealer is 3.5 hours (with lots of traffic) from the Dist Center -- Newark, NJ(?). Dealer prep, let's say 3.
Now if they was no hold the car untill the launch date I would be looking to get a call to pick my car up February 7th at 2:30pm.
But that isn't going to happen but it was a fun exercise.

I have what may be a silly question. I ordered my car on 1/18, miniusa.com updated today with the correct color/options. I called 866-askmini and it says that my car is in production scheduled for completion 1/24. Is my car week 3 or week 4? Thanks for the help!
Your choice, the week 4 thread is a bit sparse... I would just go with week 3. Originally we all had a month week number on our orders like 1-2 or 1-3 to say which week we were in. Not sure that shows up once production starts.
Trinity
You ordered on the 18th of January and it's due to be complete the 24th of January? WOW that's like an instant car!
Geez, I was glad for the delay from my order and ven that was pretty quick -- I made some changes while mine was waiting for production.

designerMINI, how did you find out your car is scheduled to depart 1/20? Mine had the same build date, and is awaiting transport according to the recording. I tried tracking my VIN through WW, but it's not picking up the number yet. Did you go through another source?
daffodildeb-- I don't remember off hand. I know I followed the directions on the NAM explaination of how to track a MINI. Search for tracking here and you'll find it -- I think it's in 1st Gear (I could be wrong) I may have put in the bill of lading number or the ship code. I know I had to read the instructions a couple of times and I think the wording was slightly wrong on some of the instructions but in any case I dug around on the sites and found it. I was able to get the departure date to NY, and to SC and I think there were a couple more ports after that but I was not interested in them so I didn't take notice. Sorry I didn't take notes but I figured if I could locate it everyone would be able to. If you try and can not get the info let PM me and I'll try to duplicate my efforts.

Whoops, I got ahead of myself...
There are two lines on my status were I was booked and received at the terminal. I guess I was assigned to Integrity as it shows up on the page. When I look at the booking # GBSOU491781 it shows an asterisk by my VIN, meaning it was on the waitlist and it does not show I was loaded. Maybe it will be updated to another ship or on ship soon...

Ahh, you will be on your way soon, no doubt. Perhaps I'll catch up to you if you can wait till the end of next week!
Oh, and BTW, who is this jerk Camelpilot you have quoted in your sig? They didn't actually post that - did they?

Oh boy - did a search, its worse - this banana actually has that in his sig, so its in his every post across the site! Will wonders never cease. Thanks Camel - hope your windshield cracks...

Reading through other threads now I see the asterisk means you don't know what's up with your car. May clear and you're on or you may go to another ship. Can take days sometimes. There are many asterisks in that booking number.
Also read and found out that the booking only refers to cars going to NY, other ports will have a different booking. In my booking number there were 130 cars. These ships can carry over 5000 cars!
Found a pic of Integrity for those that are on her...

Yes, it just struck me to quote Camelpilot him after I read it the other day.
