R56 2007 Week 3 Production
MiniC--just be glad you're not waiting for a motorcycle! Remember that car carrier that dumped a few thousand Volvos into the ocean a few years ago?
Cooper2u--nope, I'm near Houston. I'm assuming the car will go to an East Coast port, though. It's a lot faster by truck across the country than by boat around Florida...

Anyone have an idea if WW is the only shipping company that MINI use? I am thinking that maybe I am on a different boat considering my MINI was complete on 1/18 and coming to the westcoast and my VIN still doesn't show on WW site. Any imput would be greatly appreciated
So, I guess Zonker will have about a 3 week visit in Charleston.
After a week 'in transit' and no hits on the WW site, I was convinced that WW didn't have my car so I asked my MA for the info. They seem to have access to things that ask MINI can't (or maybe aren't allowed to) tell you.
This might sound like a stupid question, but...it seems that the VIN has one more digit than the space on the WW site has room for. My VIN is
WMWMF73577TLXXXXX. Does this sound right?

That looks right to me. I thought my number was funky too since it started with WMWM (kinda like Art stuttered) but I verified it with ASK MINI. Looks like Art put in the order at the same time. We are next to each other, and with CR/W to boot. I am hoping we are on a boat somewhere.
I get that morons can troll the web and then try to defraud you with some con, but they don't get to drive away with your car one day because you forgot you were supposed to always whisper your VIN.

It's not your gym locker combo folks. Your VIN is more like a serial number. On many (most?? -- all??) cars you can see it when you stand over windshield.

You may be right, but I guess it all depends on MINI's way of checking for dupe keys..
With the VIN you can make duplicate keys for that specific car and yea they technically could run off with your car

I'm waitlisted for the Don Juan as of 04:09 this morning. Also, it's not that far of a trek from the factory in Oxford to the port - roughly 64 miles according to Goggle Earth. Basically driven out of the factory to the train, loaded up, dumped off in Southampton.
My very first MINI had exactly 2 miles on it.

vin is typically on a plaque visible through the windshield, and stamped into the engine block, and possibly some other locations on the car. Its not really a secret, but no sense in posting it either.
Hi Randy, heard lots of good things about Webb and can't wait till you test out some mods on the r56! Anyway, I'm having no luck tracking either. I'm on the west coast in California. If they are trucking your r56 from the Port Hueneme VDC then the next WW boat out is 1/29, arriving 2/18 at the VDC. As for other ships, that may be a possibility. I'm going to email my MA for details. Good luck!
