That's progress! Mine still shows as En Route, but I haven't done my daily ASK-MINI call yet though.

If I don't see a change by Friday I'll email my MA to see what's up.

 

Wow! How many of you have checked the Lounge today? I'm sure you all have...I (my Mini) am at the VDC and it has an estimated delivery date of 2/12 shown. I am not gonna get my hopes up but it is big progress.

 

Mine still shows "en route," but I know for a fact that it's been at the VDC since Monday. The tracker is consistently way off the mark. My MA said it's a good chance I'll get the car on the release date...

I didn't think to look for an estimated delivery date until I read your post. Mine says 2/10.

 

Mine says 02/09 - holy crap! That's like two days away.

 

But the release date is 2/17, right? They're not really going to deliver that soon, are they?

 

Interesting -- I checked WW for the VIN one back from mine (ya gotta know how to generate the check digit) and it shows it being on the Don Juan and the Freedom, and shows it was discharged on 3 Feb. (Could be this is inomis' car.)

That's the date my MA said my ship was supposed to be in. But the Freedom discharged in NY, I'm supposed to be bound for Charleston.

So I went one digit up. And that one was also on the Don Juan, discharged in NY on 3 Feb.

Now, the Freedom does go to Charleston, but doesn't arrive until 10 Feb, and if I was there, I'd expect it to be in the WW system. So if it's not in Charleston now, it could be on the Pegasus Ace or Miraculous Ace, I'd think, but Norton Lilly doesn't list Southampton as one of their ports, so if it's not there, the next opportunity is with K-Line again, arriving on the 15th.

It's not an obsession, I swear.

 

Called ASK-MINI.

The robo-guy says my vehicle is "At the port". That made me very glad.

Then he said "Awaiting a shipping vessel".

This could be why I'm not on the WW cargo list. Or it just means the robo-voice doesn't know the difference between port of departure and port of entry.

My car is at the VDC now.. Estimated Deliv date 2/14.. (but they arent shipping till 2/15 according to bulletins to dealers)

Daff: i doubt your MINI will get to the dealer from charleston in 2 days :P Not to mention dealers take 3 days or so to prep the vehicles.

 

I dunno, Pez. My MA is still saying the 17th is a possibility. Where did you see the bulletin?

Ironically there's a MINI "parade" on the 17th. We're trying to arrange a loaner from the dealer if I don't have mine. He said they did it that way last year.

My MA, same as deb's, is telling me that MINI says no releases until after the 17th, so he is looking at the following week. I have asked about the possibility of the 19th, since I have the day off as a holiday. Waiting to hear back.

 

My MA called me yesterday to arrange payment and pickup. I will drop off all of the money for the MINI on Thursday and pick it up on 2/17. I have no reason to doubt her, so I expect next saturday I will be motoring.

 

Bulletins were reported from multiple sites, and MINI Dealers.. company wide kinda like the mfsw one. They arent being released until the 15th

 

I have mixed feelings about my reply from my MA concerning news about my MFSW and what kind of plans I could make for next weekend.

 

First time poster, long time lurker... My MA told me my Mini would arrive from NY Saturday or Monday (OL says Sunday the 11th) and that they then need 2 days with it. The waiting is KILLING me! He didn't mention anything about holding it until the 17th though it seems like that's where we're heading...

 

According to my MA mine is supposed to be in on the 2/12, but I have to wait until 2/17 to pick it up. I called today and they said they have heard nothing about the VDC waiting until the 15th to send cars.

I understand waiting until the 17th to take possession, but I don't see why the VDC's would want to keep holding cars there. I know they can handle thousands, but holding cars does take up space and creates a backlog for shipping.

 

This may be dealer-specific. Maybe some dealers are getting allocations early, others are being held.

OL is showing mine as an expected delivery of 2/13. Either that or their distribution system doesn't update right and the date on OL is a WAG.

I do software for a big company and I can imagine that being the case, that the date is just estimated cold on the OL.

 

I got back to my MA, and he has no info about holding it, other than to the release date. He said it hadn't been accepted by the carrier yet, though, and that would take 3-5 days. They need a couple of days to do some things at the dealership, so it's gonna be tight, but doable.

 

There is a post on Motoring file that states a dealer has received 3 of their pre-spec cars. If they want all dealers to have cars on the 17th I doubt they can wait to the 15th to send out trucks. All seems to fit in with our cars coming during the next week.
