Where can I get this short section of coolant hose?
Hey guys,
I have a pinhole leak in the short section of hose that runs into the thermostat from the metal line which splits and goes to the expansion bottle and the turbo. Id rather not pay $86 for the entire metal line if I can just get a short section of hose. Even generic hose. Anyone know the diameter?
Here is the entire section:
I need this tiny section of bent hose:
I circled the end of the hose in these two pics:

Never mind all the spilled coolant. I'd rather not do this twice. I was hoping someone knew the I.D and O.D. of the oem hose.
Home Depot or Lowe's don't have automotive grade hose. That's asking for problems.

Unfortunately it only comes as one part

I believe it is actually a metric size so the best thing if you just want that part is take it off and take it to the store and match up as close as you can.

The problem is access to the clamps, especially the one closest to the thermostat. And making sure the outside diameter can accommodate the OEM clamps. I don't know that I would have access to a band clamp's screw head.so the OEM clamps need to work.

Just saw this, do you want me to measure it for future help? I see you already moved forward on the fix.

I think the OEM clamps might have lost some clamping strength after all these years and I as I said I dont think I can get a band clamp on the end closest to the thermostat so I bent over and and paid the FREAKING $86 for new hoses, clamps and the hardline.
So annoying. Honestly I should have changed ALL the hoses when I put the new engine in. That's my biggest regret. (And the downpipe/cat.) Would have saved me the grief of hunting for this leak the last 2 months not to mention how easy it is do with the engine out.

With auto water line the clamps dont loose clampiness lol, those types of clamps are almost useless on thick hose, they dont clamp very hard. the hose gets a depression in it from the flared pipe put in it many times because its pressed in there stretching the hose out. and over time, like a really long time it becomes lose and can leak. Heat plays a part too but that hose is super thick, there shouldnt be any issues ith it for many many years.
When i said go to lowes i was seriious, auto water line is nothing special. Oil and fuel,, thats a different story. But water/antifreeze? Nah just regular line you can buy at any auto store.
its good you got the whole kits though to CYA incase any of the metalic lines are broke.

I present to you the sneakiest of all coolant leaks. This leak hath vexed me for many months! Sometimes it would shoot like a geyser and fill the engine compartment with steam, mostly it would drip drip drip, but never in front of my eyes, until two weeks ago when for 437th time I pressurized the cooling system and poked and prodded and it finally leaked and squirted in front of me.
Behold two tiny holes in the bottom of the short section of hose mentioned above.
