Thanks for the link. I went ahead and bought it from that website since jegs.com said it would ship on the 18th of Aug. I'll let you guys know if this site comes through. That would be over $150+ off way motor works and outmotoring's price!! Awesome!

A Cold Wind Blowing (LA Car's review of the AEM 21-699-1 intake system)

LA Car's review of the latest version of AEM's 21-699-1 Cold Air Intake system for the 2007-2010 MINI Cooper S/Clubman S is posted. Note that LA Car recommends a further cosmetic mod to the hood scoop area (mentioned in the article and photo gallery at the bottom of the article):

Nope. You can keep the grill on, but why? The grill restricts so much. You could optionally open the grill up by cutting out some slots, i just removed mine.

+1 Bruno is the man! I have never seen such customer service in my life! Bruno is the reason I would pay twice the price for this CAI! He doesn't know me on the board here but knows me personally as he helped me with some air box matters.

Thanks Bruno!

I was either thinking of cutting out the blocked slots or replacing it with the Minifini flat black grill.

Why are AEM's stock dyno numbers so low? Especially the TQ numbers.

"Peak horsepower and torque also increased from 152 horsepower and 131 pound-feet stock to 164 horsepower and 137 pound-feet at the wheels with the AEM Cold Air Intake"

Doesn't jive with every other stock dyno I've seen really

It all depends on the dyno you're on.

Well not only do the numbers seem kind of low, but the TQ numbers are lower than the HP numbers, and not by a small amount.

Bought mine from Out Motoring http://www.outmotoring.com/aem-r56-s-intake.html It installed smoothly today in about 2 hours. The only issue I had was the screw that mounts the left side of the air box needed an extra washer on the top so it wouldn't pull through. Other than that the AEM system is well made and comes with great instructions. +1 AEM!
