Oh, wait. Bruce Wayne said he got $1200 + invoice, not $1200 off MSRP. Did I get this right? Anyhow, I do not have the invoice prices, but I am assuming they are $2k less than MSRP, which would mean the savings are pretty much the same I got from dealers. But I guess it is easier to go through Costco than to use your valuable time on negotiating.

If the invoice/MSRP are $2K difference, the Costco pricing wins. $1000 off MSRP is thus ~$1000 above invoice.
Even still, getting anything above $750 is generally unheard of, especially before the car is even released. I'll take the $1000

Right, off MSRP. Also it is SUPER easy to get the price just call and here it is no back and forth "car sales stuff" But MINI here in DFW isn't bad about that any way.

No way! That's a great deal. Was this from Costco? I talked to a Sams Club representative, and they didn't have pricing info available for 2011s. They said the only dealership participating is in Colorado, which is a long drive from the Lake Michigan area. I was told I would be contacted by the dealer in Colorado. But do not know when.

But $1250 is worth of joining Costco if you ask me.

"Or did I read it correctly between the lines, you got this from a dealer?"

Countryman order guide

Your Motoring Advisor should be receiving order guides (no pricing yet - just specifications) today. The order bank will open on the August 30th where the dealer can put your order in the "order bank" and then in early October the system will pull your order from the order bank and assign a production number. We are still being told the first vehicle will arrive at dealers in January. No word on when the Countryman configurator will be live.

On my price sheets I can only see Fluid Silver, Piano Black and English Oak and Striped Alloy.

Which is why I am a little bit confused. Trim line is something that you need to choose, I think, and I do not see pepper white nor black checkered on my price sheets. I also wonder how the car would look like with the polar beige color line and pepper white trim. Would that look just too weird? Is it too much?

If the headliner truly is light beige instead of gray, I think it will look very fresh with the all black center console (I might be wrong) and make the inside of the car feel a little bit more spacious. I would just love to see pictures of the headliner in a Mini Cooper S. Just cannot seem to find any.
There is a pic of the headliner in the pics on motoringfile http://www.flickr.com/photos/motoringfile/4883796002/

The black checkered trim is standard on the MCS, it replaces the silver checkered trim. and I think the pepper white one was like in the camden, maybe another free option..not sure on that though.

Here is Polar Beige color line, and striped alloy with the new green leather seats.

Thanks for looking those up. In fact at first I had thought about combining polar beige with striped alloy. It looked nice on the UK configurator, it looks even better on that latter photo. Maybe the pepper white won't look as good as those.

Why didn't I ever think to build my car on the UK site and see all of this. DDDUUUUUHHHHH

Question: on there, for a ClubmanS the Polar Cross Check leather/cloth is only a little more money when you get the Sport package. Any thoughts on whether this applies here in the US too?

My dealer told me she cannot find Cloth/Leather Ray Carbon Black (FKE1) seats for Cooper S Hatchback in her ordering system. They are available in many European countries, but I guess we won't be getting those in US. The cloth/leather seats are an additional $1000, but the trim/interior surface and color line are included with it (separately they add to $500).

It might be the same with the Clubman S too, that you cannot get everything that you see on the UK site. But the polar cross check looks great.

It's just a flat number though, I think they said $500 on MCs, $1000 on MCSs, and $1250 on JCW. I don't know if those numbers are the same for Clubmans/Cabrios, I didn't ask, but I would expect them to be those numbers or higher. I know $500 or $1000 isn't much, but it's more than they'd be willing to haggle over I'm sure.
It depends on the area - our local dealer (only one for a long ways) will only do a flat 250 off MSRP for Costco.

I know someone here was interested in the "christmas tree" JCW with red roof and BRG II. Here are the looks with the red roof and the colors that come with it:

and check out these pics also of the JCW, shows MINI Connect better with dark speedo.

The side scuttle on the Cooper S is Black on the German site. But its chrome on the UK..I hope its black on the USA spec ones. Take a look at it here, Select the side view of the car, then just move the mouse over the white circle on the scuttle to see.

The Pepper White trim is a solid white, think of the chili red trim on the new JCW, but thats its pepper white color. Pepper white is only available on a pepper white car too. You can see it on the UK configurator under interior trims and then body color trim (which is actually the pepper white and will change the car color to Pepper White).

Thanks, but I can't seem to find it. Which car model did you use to build?

I used the Cooper S Convertible. I gather its a cabrio only trim.

Welp, pulled the trigger ClubmanS is on order, they're saying the first week of October, got them to modify an existing order with priority 1 so it could begin being built Monday for all I know. Got the Costco pricing even though "they didn't have the program set up for 2011 yet" Hope I didn't miss out on another $250, but I got mats/flaps/checkered rearview mirror cap thrown in for free on top of the nice discount.

Happy Happy Happy

i am totally getting the orange (as long as its a bronze-y looking orange)...anyone see it in person??

although i did test drive a 2010 BRG with a white roof...that was nice as well...i wish they would bring back that nice pale yellow they had in 2005 (?) the mellow yellow color looks like it has a tint of green...

does anyone have any real pics of the orange and the new BRG?

On the NAM picture forum there were live pictures of the Eclpse Grey, the BRG ll Green, and a couple of others. The Spice Orange was shown on the MTTS on Motoringfile the last couple of weeks, and it had the green interior, which didn't quite go with the Spice Orange. As for the Mellow Yellow, that has been out of productins for a year now, or more. It was replaced by Interstate Yellow. Not a good color, IMHOP

The Costco deal: Just how do you do this and where can we find out what dealers participate in this plan? This sounds like a plan, if it does work.

Just go to the Costco site, find the auto program, punch in the MINI and such (make sure you at least say which model and S or not..seems to make the difference) and your area code, and it will come back with any dealers in your area that offer a Costco discount. Then, walk in with that sheet of paper in your hand, say "I want the discount, can I see your Costco discount sheet", and then find out how much you get off. It seemed like $750 for a base model, $1000 for S, $1250 for JCW. There was no difference between MCs and MCCs, which kinda sucked.
But anyways, I got $1000 off without them battering me for more than 5min. The Sales Manager tried to give some 2010-excuse, but I stood my ground for a few minutes, and he rolled quickly. They hadn't set up pricing for 2011 yet so the discount may have increased and I might have gotten ripped, but $1000 off MSRP before the car is ever available is a win in my book. I'm guessing he plans to continue so he'll get his money back.
Also, try punching in area codes for other nearby dealers if you're willing to go to another one. I'm technically "near" (2 hours or under) 5 dealers, so I found out 2/5 did Costco pricing and one of those is 15min from my house, so I went with them for ease of pick-up. But if you're willing to drive, it's the easiest money you'll see. After that, I just had them throw in some freebies

Does the Costco deal apply to "build your own" or just "on the lot" cars?
