i use the turn dignal at nite and accidently flash someone with my brights!!
I can't wait to get my MINI with the xenon headlamps. Nobody around here "listens" when they've got their brights in your face and you flash yours to let them know.
I have a feeling they will be more attentive in the near future.

I went to test drive a 3 series... didn't even turn the engine over because the center console was pressed up against my leg worse than my old Toyota Tercel.
If you haven't already, go to the dealer and have them install the floor mat anchor for the driver's side. It will stop you from going crazy. I promise! S/b covered under warranty-mine was as they should have installed it before I took delivery but forgot.
Took care of that problem myself with a 15 minute fix that cost practically nothing. I have the carpet floor mats if that makes a difference. Did it on both sides. See post #47 at:
The thing that irritates me about mine is that danged center arm rest that keeps sliding open. I'm thinking maybe a spot of gorilla glue in just the right place.
"Only thing about my baby I dislike, is a weird poping sound that occurs whenever I switch the car off. Regardless of how I drove it."
Same here... I was going to post if that happens to anybody else... it is odd. I just noticed it a few days ago.
That's the gas tank bleeding off extra pressure. It's normal. The noticed it the for the first time when I was dropping a "friend" off and we were "talking" in the car afterwards, for a little while. We mistook the sound for a voyeuristic midget banging on the rear quarter panel.
The factory navigation does look exceptionally sweet. Always get compliments from it. It makes the enormous speedometer look much better!
I agree, I'm glad I ordered my MINI with the NAV. I don't like how the radio is housed inside the speedometer with the misplaced volume ****.
I'm definitely going to make use of the digital speed read-out from the tachometer cuz it doesn't seem very intuitive to look at the center console (eyes off the road) just to get your speed.
I'm short and have to have my seat moved pretty far up. When I want to put my side visor down I have to move my seat back or the visor hits the headrest.
What drives me NUTS? How about the fact that since MINI is owned by BMW, any time you need a little part, it's only available in a package deal that costs probably 10-20x what the part alone does? Fortunately, we have forums like this to help us with that dilemma.
Oh - the other thing is that I don't get to spend enough time in the car!

I get employee discount on parts at my local BMW dealer.
But yea, things I don't like...
- Cupholders are right in front of the toggle switches.
- Still not used to having the speedometer in the center of the car.
- Lack of guages... like at least a generic water temp guage.
- I got the nav option. There's no back button on that i-drive wannabe thing.
- Too many "cute" comments about the car.
- Gotta slam the boot hard to close it. Wife complains about that all the time.
- All the chrome on the car I had to get rid of.
- Passenger seat sensor is too sensitive. I put my bag on the seat and it beeps and says to buckle up.
Not really one thing... but if I gotta say what's the most irritating... The cupholder placement.
It's the

wow what are you like 4'10"? I mean I'm only like 5'5", but I enjoy a little room between my midsection and the steering wheel.....

I have the opposite problem. I am 6'2" and have the seat all the way back. When I put the side visor down it does practically nothing as it does not go back far enough for me. Going to rig up some kind of extender soon.
I *L*O*V*E* these cars (can you tell) ? But, and it's probably been mentioned 50 times in the thread already, I hate how dirty the boots get on the MINIs.
Have an '08 Cooper with RFTs--no spare mounting equipment included.
You SHOULD have all the equipment needed to change your tire including a spare under you boot. might wanna look and if it's missing contact your dealer.

The **** isn't going to move because you ordered the nav system and if you don't like how the regular radio works you're going to be in for a surprise with the nav.
