Gen 2 floor mats 2007

With winter approaching, I am re-assessing the dealer-provided floor mats (which, by the way, tend to get hung up with the clutch pedal, no matter what position I arrange it)......

Does anybody have any compelling arguments for one type or brand of floor mat over another?

barthol, if your OEM mats are sliding around, they didn't install the velcro discs that screw down into the floor foam.

I have the MINI mats and the velcro came off the disc that screws into the floor so now they slide around all the time. Most annoying when the mat pushes on the accelerator when I don't want to!

That's a bummer. I'd re-glue it or buy some new sticky backed Velcro.

i have the OEM rubber mats, they do the job quite well and barely move without the velcro disk.

I highly recommend the OEM rubber mats.....they're good quality, heavy, deep enough to catch a reasonable amount of water/slush and they FIT! Mine were "thrown in" as part of my purchase so I don't know the cost, but even if more costly than third party, I still recommend them for your consideration.

Guess I'm the contrarian here, but I love the (free) OEM carpet mats. I've never had any trouble with them, and I'm at 28,000 miles. I hate rubber mats! 'course it helps that I never see slush...

The velcro came off one of my rubber mats and I mentioned it during a service. They replaced the front mats under warranty.

I like the carpet OEM mats here too. They show dirt easily but that's good since it keeps me on top of vacuuming them!

I've had carpet mats, thin vinyl carpet covers in a futile effort to keep the carpet mats looking nice, and now heavy rubber mats that complement the black carpet and interior. The latter are wonderful.

lots of rain around here + i park on gravel = couldn't have anything but rubber mats.

they get so dirty, I couldn't imagine having anything else.

they'll come in handy when snowboard season starts.

I like the rubber OEM S mats- but they do slide. I stuck the left hand tab under the dead pedal and it stays put now.

Thanks for that. I'll try it next time I'm there. I didn't get them for free. Paid something like $50 for them. They fit great, and look great, but when the velcro came unglued they became "slippery" so that as I get in Tristan my foot pushes the mat and it goes up over the gas pedal. So my usual is to get in and reach down and adjust the mat then start him up. Become quite the routine now.

The WeatherTech Floorliners are the best I've seen for catching runoff from snowy feet. I put some photos in my gallery.

I contacted a MINI dealer in Canada to see if I could get these for my '09 MCS. Was told that they have been replaced by a newer style but still available but only for Gen1. I guess there is some difference in the size/fit. Anyone know this to be true?

cocomats

The MINI rubber mats do a good job at catching dirt -- I had them in my 03 MC and 07 MCS. But (1) they move around a lot, (2) they are boring, and (3) they turn dull with wear and cleaning.

Now I prefer cocmats because they look great and don't move at all. http://www.cocomats.com/

I think they fit ok, but that is what I want to find out if the new ones for 2007+ fit better. I'll try taking pictures of my mats that are in an 08 MCS. Any one have a picture of the 07+ mats from Canada?

did your rubber mats (circle style) fit in the 07? What was the part # for the one you had?
