I tried the LightNsight but would rather not use it. I don't like the way it looks both from inside and outside the car. I just duck down on the few lights that I encounter that require a duck.

Gasolene smell after turning off engine in garage

After parking in garage, I get a gas vapor smell for about one hour and then it goes away. No leaks or any other abnormallies. Car runs great, 31 MPG in city and some highway driving. engine is perfect. This is the only issue with my 2007 Mini-S.
Any thoughts

Are you edging in slowly with little spurts of throttle? All our cars at our house leave a gasoline smell when doing short maneuvers in a closed area like the garage (for example, turning a car around in the driveway then backing in).

Just a random thought...

What's that saying - "Nothing new under the sun..."?

Here's a gadget that was on the dashboard of a 1949 Hudson:

It does exactly the same thing as the "LightInSight" , but looks a lot cooler!

2 things that drive me NUTS:

1. My satellite radio says UPDATE LIST and doesn't let me listen to it at least once each time I drive...no, it's not the area I live in.

2. When I click the switch to auto roll up my windows, sometimes they will go down instead.

I love my MINI. I have one complaint. When using the iPod attachment, I have to select Random every time. It's kind of annoying.

I get around that by using pre-shuffled playlists.

Slow to react Start/Stop feature and the way the car shifts when the transmission is cold.

Maybe it's already been brought up but I am annoyed by the windshield wiper speeds- only 3 - intermittant, medium and fast. My 98 Ford Escort had 8 intermittant settings. Mini blew it on this feature.

My wife and I have no complaints. We like em as they are. We're sorry we didn't put the 6 disc changer in but that is our fault not MINI's.

They make universal ones that you can find on most street rod parts websitesfor around 9.99. That ugly a$$ light in sight is 17.50?

I have never been able to find a fuse that is hot
after you turn the car off. I mean hot all the time.
They seem to turn off after 30 mins.

I installed a blinking light that makes it look like I have
an alarm. It goes off after 30 mins.

I guess I'm gonna have to do a wire to the battery or
something. That's kinda a hassle big time.

How the heck do your "search" for something like this? What's it called? It looks like a kool novelty.

I can't stop laughing. My car makes that noise too. I think it is quirky.

windshield traffic light viewer
stop light viewer
etc.
Like I mentioned earlier, most street-rod shops carry these so you can search on their sites. I was raised around street rods so knew where to look
Here's another version but this ones a little pricey at 28.00:

Hmmm... something that drives me nuts about my beloved '08 MCS...
#1 the moronic windshield wiper controls... talk about counter-intuitive
#2 all the squeaks groans, and rattles coming from the dash, for a "premium" small car, this is a little too much noise.... my '04 Mazda3 had a tighter interior build quality

As a point of reference how many miles and what year is your car? I hope I don't have rattles to look forward to. They drive me nuts. Our cars are new and have not experienced that so far.

13,000+ here and lots of rattles. I also have a sunroof so most of the noises come from there....if you close the shade there is less noise but it's kind of ridiculous for all these rattles. I'm hoping when the weather gets warmer the cheap plastic interior will squeak less.

#2 - Pretty d*** simple. You put in Coldplay

12,000 miles on my 08MCS and it's tight as a drum. Only rattles I hear come from the stuff I carry around in the back.

Most annoying fault I've found occurs in conjunction with my coffee addiction. If I put a Venti-sized coffee cup into the console cup holder, it bumps against the heated seat button. Quickly noticed!

Me and everybody else

What bothers me the most about my Mini is all those OTHER drivers who are constantly in my way. They need to LEARN to just pull over and let me by on the back roads. BTW, I don't tailgate or any of that. I just WISH people would realize that Minis need room to move.
