common squeak point for R56s
I'd check the archives as there is LOTS on this topic.
(even outmotoring noticed that one in a new car they were testing...

I'd bring it into the dealer and get it fixed under warranty.

I have a few squeeks in my MINI, it's something you'll get used to I guess.

Mine does that occasionally. One of these days I will open it and do something about it.

it seems to be more noticeable on cold days for me.. maybe because the plastic has contracted and is looser... does anyone know what the dealer does to fix this? im going to the dealer tomorrow for my leaking foglight so i may as well bring up everything else such as the weeping wipers... front and back.

I searched

Apparently I need training on the search function because I could not find anything for this area of the car...

Mine does this occasionally over bad roads as well. However, it's not yet to the point where it's worth my bringing it in (one hour drive, half of which is on a 2-way road with a 35mph speed limit, and I'm a full-time college student). But I will be sure to mention it whenever I bring my MINI in for service.

After reading the numerous threads here on NAM, I pretty much accepted before purchasing my MINI that I'd have to live with a couple rattles. Granted one shouldn't have to on a $30,000+ car, but there doesn't seem to be much that you can do other than bringing it in to the dealer like once a month, if not more. Especially since the remedy for most rattles tends to be temporary.

Mine did the same thing almost from the first week I got it. I finally took it in and the dealer did fix it but I don't know how.

I hear ya (or don't hear ya!). 10 years of driving a soft-top Land Rover Defender 90 has made me immune to little rattles too!

I had a terrible dash rattle. Drove me bonkers. Finally got around to buying the wide velcro to anchor my radar detector better. That's about it on mine.

It's easy - I wrapped the various plastic bits up in there with felt. No more rattles.

Now if I could only find some time to have my speedo looked at - it buzzes like a dozen tiny springs

Just got back from Alexander Mini,Sucess... the buzzing was created by the JCW exhaust being a little out of wack, who'd of thunk..the rattlles were coming from the headliner around the light switches....They played around and fixed that but ordered me a new headliner just in case it comes back...In and out in about an hour,no buzzing ,no rattling..Its amazing how their Tech guy Mel just nailed the problems...Something to be said about someone who actually knows what makes these little guys tick.... Happy new year ....
