At nearly 16k miles, they say: "Lots of squeaks and rattles for a $30k car." They add that a cheaper Ford Fiesta is "better put together."
When I complain to the dealer about a squeak in the driver's door, they apply a lubricant that doesn't solve the problem for long and that say they have to wait for a service bulletin.

the only real complaint i have about mine are the dozens of squeaks and rattles.
Mine is a '15 S that i purposefully ordered with the 16" wheels and no sport suspension as I figured the softer ride might cause less noises to develop.
It needed to have the control arm bushings replaced after only 1k mile or so which caused a loud clunking in the front end. The rear shocks were replaced in an attempt to cure the knocking in the rear suspension which didn't totally work.
My door seals creak. The glove box door and/or something on the passenger side dash makes a creaking noise. There are numerous noises coming out of the doors.
The interior does look and feel to be huge step up in terms of the materials used, but unfortunately they just aren't designed to fit properly or assembled quite right. My car only has 10k miles and shouldn't be making this much noise.
My ol' 2011 WRX that was often slammed for interior quality may have had more hard plastics, but surprisingly it didn't have any squeaks or rattles.

I feel like we must be driving different cars. We're on our 5th MINI and all have had tons of rattles within a year of ownership. The F56 turned out to be the same, sadly.

On his 5th.....rattles in them all. He just made my point.
If only I lived in Florida
When it's warm, no rattle. Now that it's cooled down the passenger door (maybe the passenger rear also) rattle. Second one with weeping washer nozzle (driver's side). If it was for the fact that I love the way these cars drive...
FWIW, my R56 had tons of rattles. The only rattle dealer fixed was the one coming from sunroof controls box. When I was active in the forum, almost everyone I talked to had rattles and I drove on east coast with tar roads. Texas roads are unforgiving concrete.
11k, DDC and 16"
Have 16k miles and this is my 5th MINI, no squeaks and rattles and I got the recall for the rear compartment crash safety done, I have 17" and Sport Suspension, plus I drive on Tampa's road which are all brick and potholes, my previous two MINI's had squeaks and rattles but I got one with 106k miles and the other with 60k miles in a junk car lot, so they were both pretty beat up. My first two had no rattles at all, but I traded them in after 20k miles and all have been Clubman except for my F56.
Our 2015 4 Door had rattles from passenger door area and light switch area near rear view mirror. Annoying on city streets. Only about 4K miles. Our dealer East Bay Mini fixed both rattles. They did a thorough job which included taking the door apart.
My take is that Mini could prevent these rattles with some changes at the factory. But if you have a good dealer, they can fix it.
This Mini is far quieter than our previous 2006 and 2008 models. We love it.
