Road Noise

I was wondering how bad everyones road noise was. I have an 07 S with premium package and get really bad noise from the sunroof

I have an 07 S with premium package as well and the sunroof is very quiet. I was a bit concerned in getting it initially as I read so many stories here on NAM of it rattling like crazy and causing a major increase in wind noise. However mine has been great and it does so much for the interior. The only real wind noise I'm getting is from what seems to be a leak in the driver's door seal, but that's an entirely different issue.

If road noise is coming through the sunroof, perhaps you need to turn the MINI over and put the sunroof at the top.

I don't have a sunroof and was annoyed with the road noise. I've Dynamated the back half of the car and it helped. I still need to do the front. Changing from runflats to non-runflats with a low noise rating also helped.

Let the dealer work on it--there are several fixes available, depending on what is wrong.

P.S. Mine works great!

My sunroof is really quet.

My runflats howl like a banshee, though. Horribly loud!

I've had my MINI in for service 4 times already because of the sunroof noise, mostly because 1 of those times they made the rattle worse, and 1 other time they didn't do anything, but now they pretty much have it fixed there's only a very soft rattle left. But now my armrest rattles really bad. I'll wait until I find one more thing to get fixed before I bring it in again.

It's these damn runflats.... I wish I could just do a fat burnout and be done with them... but I don't want to buy new tires just yet

Not sure about a sunroof, though.

My car has some road noise, at 130 km/h (flow of traffic here) i think most of it has to do with the windows and how they seal but real sports cars do not have framed windows so i am willing to accept it. The road noise i hear is not worse then my acura RSX and is about as loud as the exhaust anyway.
