R56 I can't believe it...
Another question, Scooter's rear wiper has taken to weeping and causing a stain on the painted surface, any of you other R56 folks on this thread having the problem? My fronts do not weep, interesting!
Denny at Redwood General did right by me.

Don, sorry to hear that Scooter is weeping.
What did you do to Scooter? Have you not been taking him for fun twisty drives.
So, anyone hear from Gary. I know he is tending to his puppy, but not a peep in quite some time now. Gary, you out there??????
Hope the wheels came out looking good as new!
Heya Don, sorry to hear about Scooter weeping, seems to be a fairly common issue in the stock problems threads. I would imagine a good polish/buffing should clear it up. If not Id print the threads out and take it to your dealer and tell them to fix it.
BTW Deacon's broke in now
and seems to have come in a bit more, I'm still not driving him real hard, but overall it feels a bit more ready to go.
Let the motoring begin!

Any closer to doing the audio upgrade, or still saving up for it? I'm still making sawdust, but it is getting closer. The cabinet is coming together.
Hi everyone. Im roger, ive been hanging out with Mike and Wendy since returning from iraq. It was fun helping out Mike get church squared away for trade in and helping make deacon all clean. The funny thing is parts of church are being transplanted into my R53 "Bumbles". Just purchased the FBT spoiler from him.
LOL JJ and Ed, the phantom business cards lol.

Sorry I didn't post an update right away. The work done on my wheel was totally amazing. I honestly can't see the places that were repaired. Top notch work.
If any of you were in the Bay Area I now know a wheel repair guy that is a true artist.

My puppy is doing well, it is a PITA trying to keep her from over doing it though. I took her in for her check up yesterday and the vet said she looks much further along (4-5 weeks) than just 3 weeks. I haven't been able to spend much time in my home office because I'm out in the living room keeping an eye on the pooch. She has her next check up in a month at which time I hope we'll get the green light to increase her activity. We've had to hide most of her toys, which isn't easy since she can smell the darn things from a mile away. But all in all, she is doing extremely well.
I'm still as (M)OCD as ever. Last weekend I broke out the PC and got rid of the waterspots on my wife's Jet Black R53. I'm about to have to clear off another shelf in the garage to make room for the ever growing detailing supplies.
Demi has about 3200 miles on her now (in 6 weeks). My wife and I are participating in a group run tomorrow. I'll take my camera along and if I can get any decent pics I'll post em.

I'm glad to hear everyone is doing well and staying busy.
flying out in am.
Saying goodbye for a couple of weeks unless I get good internet access around China. I should have pretty good access in Beijing.
Gary, good to see you online and the pup on the mend. POOM/MOCD is good.
Emily, good on the wheel repair, you were treated right and should have not happened, but stuff does. I see your trying to get a run organized in Nor.Cal., that one would be fun to drive after a track day.
Robin, updates when you get more done on the boot.
Mike and Tigs, stay happy and enjoy your MINIs and many friends, it looks like you have a full house.
A parting picture to enjoy, I gave Scooter his wash and hydro the other day, I will have to deal with the weeps and some 'cosmo' when I return.
This is how you make a MINI look big!

Hey Don. I'll miss seeing you online - a couple of weeks without old81.
I do hope you have a successful and safe trip.
Yes, I'm trying to get a run of HWY36 going for the day after the MINI track day at ThunderHill on 11/1. Even if I don't get anyone to join me, I'm planning on doing it, but it would be a load of fun with some other MINI folks. We'll see what happens, still 6 weeks away.
Again, be safe on your trip.

A long time ago
Hi, as I wait to get some sleep before I get up at 3am to go to the airport, I thought I would post a picture of two of my Alfa's. I think Robin mentioned he would like to see the old GTjr at the track. Here is a shot coming off the track at Pike's Peak International. My old 81, wearing the number 330, fresh build on the 1600 DOHC and about 3 seconds faster on the track.
Check the album for a few other pictures I managed to finds some SFW digital images. I did find some older prints, but I have to set up the scanner when I get back.
2nd picture is of the 63 Alfa Giulia Spider winning a peoples trophy at one of our Alfa Circo events a number of years ago.
Enjoy --- Don

The pics don't show, and you are off to China. (Edit: Now they show, thanks) I hope you have a good safe and enjoyable trip. I see the pics in your Picasa album. I love the spider. Mine looked very much like that, but without the hood scoop/slot. That was a great body design for a sports car. Thanks for posting those!

If I get some good pictures and access remains good, I will put up a small album on my picasa.
Thanks for the thoughts.
Don...
Interesting where this thread is not going. So, to interject some MINIness. It is 7:25pm on Wednesday the 19th, Beijing time. I finally stumbled upon a MINI in Beijing. It was by chance as I was finishing my afternoon browse of the Forbidden City. As we walked out after working our way to the North Gate, here it was with very nice Union Jackage. Not sure where the owner was but it was very clean.
Today was an exceptionally nice day in Beijing, the rain cleared the air and the sky was the brightest blue in many many days, actually months per my son.
Here is a picture, browse the picasa to see a couple more of the Beijing MINI and a glimpse of the Forbidden City. Other albums as time and inclination permits.
At least somewhere in this city is MINI dealer, perhaps I will find it.

WOW Don!! That is totally cool... an R56 no less. I had been wondering to myself whether or not there were any MINI's in China, and there you find one.
Hope the jet lag has subsided a bit and you are enjoying your time.

Hi Don!!
Lightning Blue too!!!
I really hope you are enjoying yourself a bit there in China, looking forward to looking through the picasa pages to see it through your eyes.
Well just to update everyone on things...
Tig and I are on day 5 of being NON-SMOKERS
It's not easy, but I'm feeling better, and the cravings are starting to subside. I'm digging the fact that I don't smell like an ashtray anymore
Deacon has 1700 miles on him, still havn't taken him past 5,000rpm lol. I did add the Alta 2" stubby, prostripe blackout for the belt line, and the 3m clear bra.
I have a new sunroof graphic on order from Mike at AC... custom work, I'll unveil it after installation but it's cool
The windows will be tinted Saturday, and I'm hoping to get one of my subwoofers installed this week too.
Hope everyone is doing well
Mike

Here is a photo album of the Mini Run I attended last weekend. There were 11 Minis participating. Album.
