Hey Don. Glad you made it out there safe. Here's hoping that nobody does go off track in your corner tomorrow. Be safe out there and have a great time. Tell us all about it when you get a chance (i.e. tomorrow afternoon j/k ).

I can't even tell you how glad I am that I haven't had to blow a gasket over my wheels. Denny has been truly responsive and communicative since I raised the issue with him on Tuesday.

The pool is noisy in the rain?

All of you enjoy, not sure how much time I will get on the forum, parties to attend after the races you know.
Sorry to hear you are burdened by such onerous job obligations. It's a hard job, but...

So, how has everyone's weekend been?

Don, how were the races?

Mike, did you and Deacon get some quality motoring bonding time?

Tigs, how did the sending the youngins back to school go? Transition accomplished?

Gary, how's your puppy progressing?

Robin, what's the status on your mobile concert hall? Can you drive it? If you can, when do you want to have a meet-up for some twisteis???

Productive. Arthur (a retired USC prof., raced the small formula cars at Laguna Seca & Sears Point, met him through astronomy, now woodworking buddy) came over and we got our brains properly twisted working on the compound angles required for building the cabinet. Let's see, this piece has an 11.5 degrees slope with a 4 degree angle to the edge. Now which way does that angle go...

Measure twice, cut twelve times...

And what about you? I hear you've been out dancing with Porsches. I think a full report would be much appreciated by those hanging by this thread. Err, I mean...

We are working on the wall/cabinet that divides front and back. I can drive it, but it looks like a construction site. I need to finish it in time for a high school class reunion later in the month in Los Angeles. I'd like to do a twisty run, but probably wouldn't feel good about it until this craziness is done.

I've been thinking about wanting to meet up with for some of the Santa Cruz or other roads. Just need to finish this project. Besides, I think you'd want to see it finished.

It was agreat weekend! Spent mostly lounging about the home in some form or another of comfy wear watching mindless drivel on the television.

I've had a few computers to work on, reinstall OSes and such but most of that was unattended installs. Just had to swap discs.

Not much motoring time in this weekend, just felt too lazy

And to top it all off... Chargers WIN!

Pool, indoor type. Full of little kids til 11pm, I think you get the picture. It was better Sunday night, they all went home.

I'm back in Colorado, I will put up a picture or two later tonight. Scooter needs a bath, so do I. Good drive back today, rain all the way to the Colorado state line. Scooter ran very well, we have a few more mile on the meter.

Saturday was good on the grid working, Sunday was overcast, windy and cold with lots of carnage. We red flagged at least 3 times over 2 race groups. The FF (Formula Fords) were out of control.

Hi everyone. Im roger, ive been hanging out with Mike and Wendy since returning from iraq. It was fun helping out Mike get church squared away for trade in and helping make deacon all clean. The funny thing is parts of church are being transplanted into my R53 "Bumbles". Just purchased the FBT spoiler from him.

LOL JJ and Ed, the phantom business cards lol.

Thanks Robin, not sure where in the lot I should have parked. I blundered upon this local event after the racing was done on Sunday afternoon. I wandered down to the local Super Walmart and as I drove back, I saw this collection of old classics.

You can see all my pictures of the race weekend and this collection at my fotki albums.

How is the enclosure going for the speakers. When do you figure you will have it installed and enjoying the new sound?

Nice to see new people helping to keep the thread active.

So Mike, you have a problem, watch the Chargers or work on Deacon. Tigs how do you feel about lil Tiger being neglected by SDMike or do you share the love of all things sports?

I tried looking at your pics, but fotki is painfully slow on some images. For example, hitting Next to get to DSC_5159.JPG took about a minute and then didn't display the image. I had to click on "DSC_5159.JPG" go see it. There were a number like that, while other images work fine.

Did you see my earlier post in response to Emily's query about everyone's weekend? I've sawn a few parts and done some sanding on the speaker cabinet since then. Am working on a jig to bend angle irons to exactly 70 degrees for attaching the wall to the floor. Was thinking of using wooden blocks, but angle irons are more space-efficient.

BTW, I wonder what happened to Emily? She hasn't posted since Sunday evening.

Hi all,

Life is returning to normal. Our son is home from summer vacation, school has started, and we're finding our "routine" again.

Hi Roger! *wave* It's great to have you home from Iraq, and having you as a member of the family.

As for Deacon, LT, and football...we'll find our balance. I'm a HUGE Steelers fan. Mike's a HUGE Chargers fan. Jarek is a Bears fan. And Roger is a Colts fan. LOL on Sundays, our house is rockin'! It's gonna be a great season.

Deacon is getting more attention at the moment than LT. But she's my baby and the bestest MINI evar!! Mike gave her some love on Sunday - detailed her for me while I napped.

Work is busy as hell right now. Expanded responsibilites, high visibility projects, and several impending deadlines that are putting short-term stress on me. I'll get through it.

Can't wait for the next big MINI adventure. I need to get out and driiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiive.

Robin, sorry about the fotki image slowness. I suspect they may be in overload again, they are a popular photo site. And the images are full size jpeg Nikon, so that is probably contributing. I notice the late morning load is high on their site. Do you see the link at the lower left of the photo to "Get original uploaded photo"? Now that is slow as the files are 2+ megabytes each.

I saw your previous message, so keep building.

Yes, Emily appears to MIA. I hope all is well.

Tigs thanks for the update, don't stress go for a lunch drive or after work.

Hey everybody. Just chiming in.

Don, glad your race weekend went well even though the FORD's weren't behaving on the track.

I'm here, just trying to keep my job, things are crazy and I need to start focusing again. Still keeping an eye on y'all, but not as able to post.

More later...

Oh and per Robins noting my Porsche fun, I was motoring in the twisties on Saturday and wound up in the middle of a pack of about 8 Porsches. It was fun for the short time we were on the same road. I didn't get left behind and didn't hold anyone up (and know better than to not pull aside if need-be).

Hmm, a pack of wild Porsches running through the mountains...

I can hear them howling.

Glad you are OK, and your only affliction is work.

No sub, just relocating the 6x9s so I can enclose the back as a trunk. There will be a barrier between the back and the front seats that will hold the 6x9 cabinet. I've Dynamatted the entire back and added acoustic insulation in the sides and under the wooden floor.

Nice job. Wanna do that on Long Island to MINIBIRD, for fun??
No.
