R56 Week 24 Production

It is with a sigh I ask who else has been told that week 24 is when Creation begins?

I was scheduled for week 23 and now I've been bumped the wrong way, to week 24. My order was placed, believe it or not, in very early April. My lengthy delay though, is more than likely due to the Audio Package not being officially available until after June 7. Anyway I ordered a Laser Blue/White S with auto trans, Convenience, Audio, Cold Weather and all elements of the premium package minus the sunroof, anthracite hl, black lounge leather, PB interior, chromeline interior, rear fogs and I think that's it. I'll probably spring for a clear bra too.

hey phil k! thanks for starting up this group... i'm sighing as well... just still grunting at all this bad news one after another...

i too was in phil k's situation where i was originally week 23, almost got pushed forward, but then i got pushed back to week 24

what bums me out is that a good amount of the original week 23'ers got pushed forward with their production weeks. even though i'm happy for them moving forward, i'm just wondering what the heck happened... i think some of them even ordered after me... i didn't even order an audio package... i think mini should throw it in that for all this up and down emotion i'm going through

and it's just bumming me out even more that i still can't get a solid response fr AskMini, the OL and even my MA...

Never rely on information gathered from the OL & ASK-MINI. They're as clueless as we are. What did your MA tell you?

all he could say is that he "promises" that it'll be here before i go out of town early august (watch it gets here august 1st)... i asked him for a status code, and he claimed he didn't even know what i was talking about, but would ask his manager... but i'll bet his manager won't say anything... i even asked why some who ordered after me were getting their mini's started before me... he didn't have an answer... and my MA claimed he gets his info fr the OL i told him that wasn't reliable and has really late info... i don't know what to do at this point because i'm getting the run around fr all sources...

howdyem,

Have you asked your MA to get you a copy of the Vehicle Inquiry Report? That's the most definitive piece of information in my understanding.

Rover is bang on target. Tell your MA to get you a print-out of the report from the Online Ordering system. It should have the VIN# (if available), production #, status code (mine says 151), actual production date, model and priority code along with a bunch of useless information about the dealership and sales rep.

Thanks rover and gforce... i'll try that... but i'm so sure he'll just say he isn't aware of this either (esp since he can't even give me that darn status code) and just go on saying, "trust me, trust me..."

you know... maybe the sales mgr doesn't want me to have it because of the priority code... i wonder if they could have put me a low code because i was an easy sell... i'm curious to know the status of others who have ordered fr the same place as me (Brecht Mini- Escondido)... but I will take your advice and ask for this report...

The priority code denotes whether a car has been sold or not. For example, mine says "1- Customer sold".
Btw, check your PM in-box.

If that was the case, they could just give you the order status code. You might also gently imply that their service isn't the type that encourages referrals or repeat business. You know... in a sort of helpful way Don't burn any bridges though. You might get even less cooperation after that.

Banging Head Against Wall!

I'm certainly not getting anything remotely resembling the information gratification that I'd like from anyone in this MINI chain. This leads to intense frustration, anger, concern, worry and all sorts of other feelings over which I have minimal control. So I guess I could take an aggressive tact and keep pushing until I get the info I want, and then it's still only a maybe that I'll get it. I also may drive myself crazy in the process. But, no matter what I find out, not much is going to change. Soooo, I' m gonna' be patient, stay calm, smile and simply accept whatever fate has planned for me and my little baby .

By the way, if anybody believes that, I've got some real cool ocean property in Scottsdale that I'd like to sell you.

Hey Phil K... I'm sorry that you're feeling just as frustrated as moi... i don't think my ranting is helping you out much either. for that i must apologize... as of this morning i'm trying to take a much more calmer approach at this too... hopefully you'll get only better news from here on out...

have you tried getting a vehicle inquiry report from your MA? i haven't tried yet. out of curiousity... has your MA been helpful thoughout this?

Thanks for the sensitivity, I do appreciate it. But hey, every so often the rant is necessary!

My MA is very nice, very sweet and as helpful as she is able to be. However, she typically goes to her manager or other MAs for information and guidance. I haven't asked for any of the reports, but I think tomorrow I shall, she's off today. I'll let you know what happens. Did you ask for yours yet? Response?

Thanks for understanding the ranting . Talking it out to helpful listening ears keeps me grounded... better than keeping the frustration inside. I don't think my friends would understand why this would be so frustrating... esp over a car... my husband suggested i stop reading these threads so often so i don't get as rattled

I haven't asked my MA for a report yet... I might either today or tomorrow. my MA still hasn't called me back, since he said he was going to ask the sales mgr about my car's status. I just spoke to an AskMini rep who seemed more informative to ask why we would have gotten pushed back... and hold your horses for this one (BUT be forewarned this may be upsetting... but you may have already hear this)

... she said that what could have happened was because of new options that are coming out in June (i.e. audio package), many dealers are pushing for week 23, which pushes some of us back. i kindly suggested this wasn't fair for those who have been on week 23 long before this, and told her that i didn't even order an audio package... she just said didn't have an answer for that. i asked if this was going to possibly push us back further past week 24... she said the likelyhood was very small.

so that could be the explanation what happened to our babies... i'll just deal with this for now... i'll still ask for the report... but thanks again for having this little thread for support...

my cousin ordered a BMW the same weekend I ordered my Mini (her dealership was right next door to mine)... she just texted me that she's getting her car tonight... given she was quoted 45 days... lucky duck!!!

I thought that each dealership's allocation was sort of pre-scheduled. If you or anyone is getting bumped for someone waiting for the audio package, wouldn't that have to be happening within the dealership's allocation. In other words, only a car from the same dealership would be able to bump someone for this reason?

The more I think of it, the more it seems unlikely. If it were so, we would probably be seeing a lot of people in week 23 that ordered the audio package. I think I've seen only one.

In fact, I ordered the Audio Package and thought that the bump was due to the fact that week 24 would be the first full week for building with that package and blah blah blah! Bottom line, I don't expect to ever know why the bump. At this point I'm just concerned that week 24 doesn't turn into 25 or 26.

I ordered what MINI calls the Audio Package which includes the HiFi, HD and semi-lifetime Sirius subscription.

So I just called Ask MINI and they told me that they rescheduled me yet again but this time back to where I was originally, week 23! Now I'm completely confused. I think it's time to call MA again.

UPDATE: I just spoke with my MA and she said that her report indicates I'm still scheduled for week 24 with a code of 112. So that's why I say this MINI [corporate, dealer, etc.] chain is kinda messed up.

Its possible your MA doesn't have the latest information about production schedules.

Hey all,

I just called ASKMINI and was told (by a live person) that I was scheduled for production in week 24. I asked when that was and he said the third week in June. I looked at some previous posts and it looked like week 24 is the 2nd week in June. Can someone clear this up for me? Thanks.

Joey

how confusing phil k :impatient i only hope the best news for you phil k, and that you returned to week 23... let us know what happens, since week 23 is only a couple days a way. it's good that your MA is informative with the status codes.. did your MA explain to you why you were pushed back in the first place?

i'm afraid to call askmini because i don't want to hear more bad news just hearing i was pushed back last week seriously ruined my whole week and spirits. i was more annoyed something like this could disturb me this much, and i almost wanted to cancel my order

having this thread to vent to and many of all ya'lls helpful advice helped

but i will call monday with my guard up... and if they tell me more bad news... it's ON!!!

yah rover... i can't make sense of the whole dealership allocation thing... what you said makes sense, and yet makes me angry (not against you of course!! ) because it made me wonder if my own dealership pushed me back. so if monday i hear bad news, i will call the sales manager, not my un-informative MA. i think for all this trouble, the dealership should remove the dam permaplate they required i purchase...
